Name: Eiyu
Species: Vortixx
Gender: Female
Powers: As a Vortixx, she has no inherent powers.

Gear: Eiyu wears a Kanohi Kadin, the mask of flight. She also possesses a long sword which she is extremely proficient in using, along with a handful of throwing knives she's also proficient with.

Personal Aircraft: None, although she does have a deployable glider which she can use to cut down on usage of her kanohi (which requires constant concentration when in use).

Allegiance/Role: Eiyu is a relatively new recruit in New Atero's guard force, but has served loyally and dutifully, and through it gained a modicum of recognition as someone who can be relied on.

Appearance: Eiyu is average height for a Vortixx, but also relatively muscular, more so for athleticism than brute strength. Unlike the typical Vortixx, Eiyu's armour has been recoloured a deep dark red, with simplistic decals painted on top in white with a gold outline. Her natural black body armour is visible through gaps in the overlaying repainted armour. Her eyes glow amber yellow under her dark red Kadin, which adheres neatly to her vortixx head.

Personality: Eiyu has made it clear that she is extremely loyal to New Atero. She works hard and does her best to fulfil her duties every day. She is very ambitious, and has a deep sense of responsibility. Although she can have a temper, she works to keep in in check in favor of a calm calculative approach to things. After the rubble that seemingly fell from the sky pinned her down during the evacuation of the matoran universe, she's had an underlying subconscious fear of her reality not being as it seems.

Bio: Back when the matoran universe was failing, a young Eiyu was rescued from debris that had pinned her by an older more vortixx and lead out of the dying world onto the surface of Spherus Magna. This vortixx would from then on take on the role of Eiyu's protector and mentor, and that's how things were for a long time, until the vortixx's untimely death.

Recently, after many years of soul-searching, Eiyu joined New Atero's guard, working hard to earn her place in their ranks. Few know of her past, and those who do only know that which she has divulged, none of which is concrete enough to give any kind of bigger picture of her life.

Name: Clos'utu
Species: Su-Turaga
Gender: Female
Powers: Weakened Plasma powers, proficient aim
Gear:

  • Classical Steltian Pistols: Outdated and decrepit pieces of Steltian history, Steltian Pistols absorb elemental energy directly from the user at all times, rather than holding a charge or any kind of battery. They are more effectively used in pairs for their quick fire rate, but naturally tax more energy. In this case, Clos'utu’s pistols are even older than most surviving models, bearing ornate handles and larger charging mechanisms. Built to last through lots of loving/handling.

  • Fe Hammer: Sledge hammer with a plasma channel down its neck. Filling it will heat the hammer to burning temperatures, and splatter plasma on contact from vents in the faces. Chain attached to the base of the handle for easy carrying and added combat capacity.(can’t fill with plasma while only being held by chain)

  • A worn, near-black purple cloak, tattered and patched. Clearly used to be for a larger person.

  • A wide brimmed hat, loosely covering her face.

  • Light armor additions.

  • Noble Kanohi Volitak, Mask of Stealth

  • Contained in the Jetpack:

  • Canteens

  • Twine

  • Spurs(just in case)

  • Pistol Cleaning Kit

Personal Aircraft: Jetpack: Old Reliable
Allegiance/Role: None, loner/scavenger/mercenary
Appearance: Shrouded by her cloak and hat nearly everywhere she goes, Clos'utu prefers to keep her face and dilapidated frame beneath a veil of mystery. Her eyes glow softly purple in her soot-black face, and warm plasma is a nigh-constant addition to the corners of her mouth. Should she open her mouth, it would be just as bright and steaming as the magma from her hammer.
Beneath her cloak, Clos'utu proves that age is in the state of mind. While most turaga sit in their wicker chairs and preach their “virtues”, lulling feeble minds into following their rules, Clos'utu performs every possible maintenance to keep her body in quality condition. Granted, she could not match the endurance or agility of a matoran, but her toned muscles will not be giving out on her any time soon.
Personality: Clos'utu will hire out her services as a mercenary to any who provide her with drink or coin, barring seldom few exceptions. Guilt and shame are a dried river in her mind, but one that does seem to trickle into a creek once and again. She has little patience for idiocy, but enjoys seeing those who practice it suffer for their own whims. This can be anywhere from a simple misstep down the stairs, to a zamor to the face. Out of all things, she hates to sit still, and excersises and performs maintenance as much as she can to prevent her diminutive body from getting the best of her.
Bio: Born into the world of Metru Nui industry, Clos'utu soon left the island to pursue adventure. The land south of civilization was largely unexplored, and the perfect forge to test adventurers in it’s fire. Clos'utu believed that she, more than anyone, would come to be a great explorer and lawmaker of the south.
Things were not so simple though.
As she went further down what is now known as “the old world”, life became increasingly more difficult. This was not unexpected, so she pressed forward. Eventually finding her way to Stelt, a wicked place of villainy and cruelty, she sought out making the island into something more respectable. Naive optimism and idealistic dreams were crushed by the ruthless mirth and devilishness of the Steltian populace. Even among her own species, she was rejected and dismissed as little more than a feeble joke. She left the island with a pair of stolen pistols and a string of mockery trailing behind her, but the fire in her eyes only glowed brighter.
Journeying further south to where her name had not been tossed about the streets like an old rag collecting dirt with every hand it changed, she fought obtain greater might and respect. She traveled as far as the volcanic islands, mapping out what she could and taming the wild with fervor all the way. It was there, in the islands, that she met her destiny, and became a Toa. She once again set out for Stelt. With the pistols she bore now infused with her plasma abilities and a churning pit of spite in her chest, she set about turning Stelt’s hierarchy upside-down. More intent to punish the inhabitants and acquire retribution than establishing peace, she played her game from the shadows, learning the ways of her kanohi and utilizing the conditions of light and day with her wardrobe. Mirroring how the island had viewed her in the past, they saw her as a looming danger in the shadows. Clos'utu operated like this until the GSR came to rest up on the sandy dunes of Bara Magna.
Learning of the plight of Toa in this land, and predicting the oncoming battle with Marendar, Clos'utu found a way to pawn her Toa power off to several matoran, more in an effort to preserve her own life than to increase the numbers to fight the machine. Living in a hovel in Capstone, she has once again been forgotten by the populace, but she prefers it this way now.

Name: The Truth
Model: Jetpack
Weaponry: N/a
Customization: N/a
Appearance: As weathered and cared for as Clos’utu’s pistols, the dark orange wood decor highlights against the almost black purple casing.

Overall, I'm not seeing any glaring issues here. Although I would ask that you adjust the font in the post to be a little larger.

Also are all of your characters going to be song titles now?

Must be done...

Name: Garuda

Species: Bota Magna Zesk

Gender: Female

Powers: None

Gear: Garuda’s claws are formidable weapons in and of themselves, not to mention her stinger tail. She typically covers her foreclaws in thick gloves to protect those she is working with, gloves which are usually tucked into her belt when not in use.

Personal Aircraft: The Sand Bat

Allegiance/Role: Tesara Messenger

Appearance: Garuda is petite with baby-like proportions and dark skin. She has a few white tattoos around her shoulders and belly. She wears tan and lime clothing designed to be light for the heat of the desert. Her head is covered in the typical bestial helmet of her people with a pair of rings piercing what could be called its “ears.” Her claws and tail are made of a tough, dark brown carapace.

Personality: Garuda is a young Zesk, as is easily seen. She’s relentlessly curious, perpetually energetic, and always in motion. Her upbringing in Bota Magna gives her an impressive speed, agility, and dexterity with all five of her limbs, even now that she’s been brought to the concrete jungle of Tesara. Though she loves to explore each and every mystery she comes across, the fate of her Bara Magna brethren is of particular interest to her. When not on duty, she’s often found in the outskirts of Tesara, communicating with them in their own language which she taught herself. They seem to have rubbed off on her a little too in certain animalistic mannerisms and a rare feral rage.

Bio: Garuda was born on Bota Magna only a few decades before the Reformation. She was a quick learner and quickly outpaced her parents, usually ending up in the tops of the trees of the nearby forest. Nothing was too insignificant for her curiosity.

Then she came to this world, a world of sand and primal Zesk. As Bota Magna decayed around her, she migrated and found her place in Tesara, where she could study the Zesk in more detail and be surrounded by the most greenery on the planet. She spent much of her time with them, eventually learning their language and much about their culture since they were separated from her people. She hopes one day to be able to get through to them and make them as great as her own society again.

Personal Aircraft: The Sand Bat

Model: Skyfighter

Weaponry: None

Appearance: The Sand Bat is pretty standard as far as Skyfighters go, with a lime and silver paint job. However, the pilot seat is surrounded by a fan of wings and flaps that give it agility far surpassing a typical Skyfighter. Garuda likes to say it can turn on a widget and give you change. All the better for her low, high-speed flights through the streets of Tesara.

Why?

Garuda and The Sand Bat Approved.

Just keep in mind that the feral Zesk are a significant menace, so a lot of people will probably be somewhat wary of Garuda.

"The two of you will approach the initial crash site in your respective vehicles, each accompanied by a separate Cargo Hauler to help shield you from any potential attacks aimed at your person, and to provide an additional distraction, as I have already taken the liberty to alter their programming so that they can now also attempt to... "collect" any hostile targets we may happen to encounter. As for myself, I will be hitching a ride on the third at your flank, watching your backs and assisting you in combat when necessary."

Okay, before things get too out of hand, I'm going to jump in and explain why this won't work.

As has been established before, both IC and OOC, most of the Great Barren's technological knowledge is exclusively under the purview of Fe. The tech is too complex to reverse engineer or redesign. Hence why New Atero had to steal blueprints from Fe, why Tesara has to order shipments of aircraft rather than building their own, and so on.

Cargo Haulers would most certainly fall under the same category as the rest of the aircraft in the game. If every random joe with no hacking/computer skills whatsoever can casually reprogram these things, then there would be no need for reliance on Fe. It's particularly infeasible in this case, since Saffina's profile doesn't make any mention of her possessing the advanced technical know-how to pull off something like that. Riding on one, while bizarre, is certainly doable, but the rest of what Saffina is talking about is simply impossible.

In addition, regular aircraft are considerably faster than airships. And cargo haulers are very small airships. Ergo, they'd be even slower. They'd never be able to keep pace with aircraft that were travelling even at cruising speed, let alone react and maneuver fast enough to make any difference in a high-speed combat situation.

I don't really mind if you guys edit, or choose to play it as Saffina being mistaken, but I'm letting you know ahead of time that it isn't going to work. Cargo Haulers are exactly that; they haul cargo, and nothing more.

It's particularly infeasible in this case, since Saffina's profile doesn't make any mention of her possessing the advanced technical know-how to pull off something like that.

Turning to thievery just to survive, she soon ran afoul of the law and was put to work in prison, where she honed her skills working on experimental weaponry deemed too dangerous for the more prominent citizens to sully their hands with. Growing restless and longing for her freedom, she eventually fell in with a group of captured pirates, and, upon discovering that they were plotting to escape, immediately signed on to go with them in order to leave her former home behind her once and for all. Months spent taking note of the guard patrols, smuggling bits and scraps of technology back to her cell, and even starting a few unnecessary fights just to determine response times later had eventually all paid off, culminating in one of the largest breakouts in recorded history, one which she was sure would immediately lead to a grand life of adventure sailing amidst the Protodermis Sea.

Literally the second paragraph of her bio. Taking that into consideration, I respectfully disagree.

Given that the more advanced equipment of Xian make probably contains like, a cubic buttload of circuitry and other various components, I think it's safe to say that she'd know her way around a motherboard. And it's not like she's sticking weapons on them, either; the only difference is that they can try to latch onto people in an attempt to hamper their movement.

They wouldn't have to. If they're basically just smaller airships, then they'd likely still be using Levitation Kanoka, so attaching their winches or whatever to Ektana and Dessimus' vehicles for them to simply drag around like a sidecar or trailer would effectively bypass this.

Also, the combat bit was really only thrown in there in the event that the fighting stopped being vehicular.

OK, guys.  Even I can't stay mad forever.  I'll hop back into this game, though I'll reboot Tolo's current situation.  Hopefully, I can get some interaction in this time.

Care to fill me in on the current situation in Tesara?  Or anywhere else?

I showed these off in the chat, but I don't think I posted anything here. I MOCed up Garuda and Fifteen. :)

I saw them.  They're so adorable.

Tesara - Had some stuff stolen by an agent of New Atero (Varim, by way of Silvana); currently dealing with the aftermath of a raid, in which a few vehicles were hijacked.

New Atero - Recently finished testing a new prototype vehicle (which ended disasterously); currently being attacked by a giant monster of doom, seemingly composed almost entirely out of the Visorak Horde's remains.

Fe- Had some stuff stolen by an agent of New Atero (Barlow); found some Baterra while excavating/mining.

Cliffside - Drinking, death threats, more drinking, and shopping. Just another day in paradise.

The Wastes - Aqua Magnan diving expedition attempting to locate the former fortress of The Golden-Skinned Being; Cliffside salvage crew approaching the wreckage of an airship shot down by Vorox (currently stalled, mostly due to off-site shenanigans, though the unresolved dispute certainly isn't helping things either); large pillar of light emerging from the arena that nobody has apparently even noticed yet, nevermind investigated.

That's pretty much it, I believe. Anyone else want to add something?

Alright, as the majority of you are probably aware by now, Ghidora131 has been banned from the site.

For the sake of simplicity, we can assume that Maldrakk died/disappeared during the chasm creature's attack on New Atero. I'll leave it up to the salvage crew to decide what fate befell Dessimus.

New profile. I'm gonna fill the RPG with giant women

~

Name: Matilda (yeah it’s not to the Latin naming scheme Bara Magna has but it means ‘Strength in Battle’ which is a very Malum thing to name a child)

Species: Glatorian, mostly

Gender: She/Her

Powers:

-      Matilda has incredible strength, well beyond that of a normal Glatorian.

-      She has a good many voice-based abilities, like decent mimicry, singing, and throwing her voice.

-      She’s inherited her father’s liability for hallucinations and breaks from reality. She’s currently medicated for it, in the form of tablets she needs to take.

-      She has the buffest tail to match the rest of her buff physique.

Gear:

-      Giant claws with attachments for swords, Thornax launchers, etc. She can attach these, they don’t just pop out of the things a la Inspector Gadget

-      Machete knife hidden in holster in boot

-      Firework gun in holster in other boot

-      Bandanna (worn around neck)

-      Spare bandannas

-      A whole gosh darn bandanna collection

-      Sizeable backpack for sizeable meals

-      Medication

-      Clothes, hopefully

-      Glatorian armour

Personal Aircraft: Trash of the Desert, though Ehksidian some individuals refer to it as “Daddy Issues”, much to Matilda’s chagrin.

Allegiance/Role: Currently works as a ranger/guard/courier, largely on Tesara but prone to travel due to her job.

Appearance: Physically large and muscular, Matilda is tall even for a Glatorian and has piercing pink-red eyes, along with orange skin. Her hair is a curly mess of black locks; she regretfully cuts it short to reduce upkeep on it, the world being as it is. Her armour bears some resemblance to her father’s. When not working, she wears shirts that show off her massive biceps and big, fearsome-looking boots with shorts or trousers, depending on the weather. She always wears a bandanna around her neck because she’s just cool like that, and will resist any efforts to remove it. She does have a Vorox tail, but she often hides it in her clothes or armour. It’s not exactly a close-guarded secret, to be clear, but it saves her a lot of sideways glances and snide comments.

Personality: Matilda, like Malum, has a very short fuse and a very hot temper. Also like her father, she is loudly prideful of her abilities and herself. She has a lot of questions about what happened to her father and she hopes something up in civilisation can help her answer this question one day. She has a lot of passion in her and will dedicate herself fully to a cause she believes in. She is loyal to her father’s tribe and to anyone who earns her trust.

Bio:

Matilda, the daughter of the exile Malum and an unknown Bota Magna Vorox, lived much of her life on the surface of Bara Magna with her father, navigating the difficult terrain with their tribe of Vorox and Zesk. One day, while she was out investigating some strange tracks, she returned to their tribe to find Malum had gone missing. She took the mantle as chieftain for a while, waiting for his return and searching for him, but eventually gave up her title to seek answers in civilised society. She travelled to Tesara to begin her search, but still keeps close ties with her tribe.

She currently works as a ranger, carrying important messages or guarding cargo. With her experience in the Wastes, she is also an experienced guide for the planet’s surface, taking eccentric archaeologists and overexcited explorers and guarding them from the perils of the sands.

She performs songs on occasion, if an opportunity arises, but doesn’t do so in any official or career-wise extent.

~

Name: Trash of the Desert (I went on BS01 and found random parts of out of context Malum quotes until I found a good vehicle name)

Model: Axalara

Weaponry: Two Hagah Plasma Cannons, able to be aimed, one facing front and one facing back to give full coverage.

Customisation: The bomb bay has been modified to act instead as a very small cargo bay. It is big enough for some larger packages, or even a Zesk in a sleeping bag. It has a teleportation device attached to it, and so if the ship is destroyed, both the pilot and a large, internally cushioned metal box that serves as a “shell” for the goods being transported are flung out. The box is key for the teleportation, and so if Matilda wanted to rig it back into a bomb bay, the contents would not be able to teleport upon the ship’s destruction.

Appearance: The ship is sandy tan, with crimson decals on the underside/lower half. This helps to camouflage it if it is resting in the dunes. The tan part, that is. The crimson decals don’t help with that, but are positioned to not be seen from above.

Name: Voyin

Species: Iron Glatorian

Gender: Female

Abilities/Powers:

Mountain Woman: Slight resistance to snow and cold due to upbringing in the White Quartz Mountains.

One with the Beast: Can communicate almost perfectly with Vorox, whilst also having limited communication in Agori.

Improviser: Adept at building (and using) improvised weapons made from rock and other materials.

Survivor: Knows survival skills to keep herself alive, as well as her pack.

Gear: Voyin carries a large axe in the style of a Scandinavian Dane axe, with a long blade fashioned out of stone and a shaft made of wood. The base of the Dane axe has a sharp spike made of bone, used for jabbing and decoration. Carvings seem to be made in the rock blade. She also has a smaller knife of bone, and several throwing axes.

Personal Aircraft: Flight

Allegiance/Role: Chieftain of the Mountain Vorox

Appearance: Tall and muscular, with the regular blue and grey colors of the Iron tribe. Her eyes are a deep piercing ice blue. She commonly wears leather armour and furs, including gloves and boots, as well as a pincered helmet like that of regular Vorox, but the pincers are further back, similar to this. It is bone white. Her hair is commonly tied back, when her helmet is off. She also has multiple straps on her armour where she keeps her throwing axes and her bone knife, often only carrying her Dane axe when she requires it.

Personality: Savage. Extremely territorial and dominant of her position, but cares deeply for her pack. Does not understand many social cues due to broken understanding of both Agori and their lifestyle.

Bio: An "unexpected" child from 2 Iron Tribe members, Voyin was abandoned in the White Quartz mountains by the shameful mother. Little did the parents know that a small offshoot of the Sand Tribe had been living in the mountains for years, surviving on the Mountain animals and ambushing travellers. Voyin was very nearly killed by them when she was discovered, but a slightly more motherly Vorox took her in, spitting on her and marking her as one of the tribe. The Vorox protected her as she grew, and raised her as one of her own. She in turn, learned how to fight, and found herself fighting off some of the other Vorox believing her to be an outsider. She began to take part in raids on travellers in the mountains, earning her place in the pack, and eventually became one of them. During one of these raids, she managed to successfully steal a Jetrax from a dead Agori, gaining power and renown for being the first to successfully scavenge one. A while after, the chieftain of the pack died, leaving the Vorox to fight for his place. Voyin defeated all of them, and became the new chieftain. Now, Voyin seeks to trade for the first time in the pack's history. Desperation breeds drastic measures, and while Voyin does not speak much Agori, she knows some.

Name: Flight

Model: Jetrax

Weaponry: In terms of weaponry, it has a single harpoon gun mounted on top, along with chain attached to it. This acts as a tow, stopping enemy ships from escaping. It has a rotating disc launcher filled with metal razor sharp discs, similar to that of the Kanoka.

Customisation: Voyin has added a few extra spikes on the front, made from Glatorian bones. She uses this to ram enemy ships.

Appearance: The originally clean craft has been painted with red makeshift paint and adorned with animal bones and a Vorox helmet has been attached to the front. The vehicle seems to have originally been used as a mercenary ship, but Voyin has repurposed it as her personal ship.

Well, that's an intriguing concept.

Voyin and Flight are Approved.

So, uh, yeah.

Recently heard this through the grapevine, but apparently, word is that the Vorox Quest has a new opening available. The catch, however, is that potential applicants would either have to stumble across the group's base camp... or simply play as Dessimus.

In the case of the former option though, it might be best just to type up a new character, in order to completely avoid the pitfalls of travel time.

There's no 'recently' or 'apparently' in this situation. I informed everyone of the facts over a week ago.

As for your suggestion, I'm not comfortable letting players take over other people's character without permission. Particularly when the character in question belongs to a banned member.

Well, whether a banned member or not, it may have hypothetically been given. Permission, that is. Possibly by way of Discord.

Insert belated apology for the cloak-and-dagger routine here.

...

...

...

Also, isn't the original creator of your other game currently a banned member as well? Because I seem to recall that being the reason why it needed a shiny new set of GMs.

Needless to say, a little additional leeway on that front would be much appreciated.

Stop beating around the bush. Fact of the matter is, no matter how friendly you are with him, he was banned for a reason. I'm sorry that makes your quest one man shorter, but you're going to have to deal with the consequences either way. Just carry on like everyone else in the RPing forum has been doing.

From the reference desk:

Something that goes hand-in-hand with this is that banned members should not be discussed. They broke the rules and did something wrong, at this point they do not deserve any further attention.

The simple fact of the situation is this - he was banned. He's gone, his characters are out of play, end of story. Anything he might've said off-site has no bearing on the matter.

Given BZP's rules on the subject of banned members, I will not be discussing this matter further.

I'm not sure what you're waiting for, to be honest.

I explained in great detail in this post why Saffina's 'plan' wouldn't work. Said post was not an invitation to begin a debate or discussion, it was a statement of fact. Regardless of that, your response only addressed two of the four points I made, and not particularly adequately at that, so I moved on to more pressing issues that had arisen.

But, in the hopes of resolving this issue, I'll refute your points:

Given that the more advanced equipment of Xian make probably contains like, a cubic buttload of circuitry and other various components, I think it's safe to say that she'd know her way around a motherboard.

I fail to see any real correlation between Saffina's past work in putting guns together, and her inexplicably being able to effortlessly hack sophisticated robots that no one else in the game (except for the Fe engineers) knows how to reprogram.

If they're basically just smaller airships, then they'd likely still be using Levitation Kanoka, so attaching their winches or whatever to Ektana and Dessimus' vehicles for them to simply drag around like a sidecar or trailer would effectively bypass this.

Levitation =/= weightless. They're still big, heavy airborne robots. The added weight of pulling them along is going to create a lot of drag, and place additional stress on the fuselage and attachment points of both aircraft involved. So again, useless for combat.

Yeah, well, experimental weaponry =/= guns, either. The Vortixx_Rhotuka_Battle_Axe and Nektann_Defense Sentries are both prime examples of this, and, especially in the case of the latter, would've required a background in programming just to get them to move and properly recognise and target potential enemies. Also, if your settlement's resident tech-heads are largely composed of Vortixx and Nynrah Ghosts, then chances are, they're not going to be able to magically whip up something that another Vortixx or Nynrah Ghost with a background in said tech wouldn't be able to partially recognise and possibly reverse engineer if they had to at the very least, even if they did work together to come up with both new designs and an entirely different system of code.

Granted, overcoming the several hundred years of stagnation in meaningful advancements outside of Fe would still be troublesome, but in comparison to those made during the previous 100,000 between the departure and arrival of the GSR to and from Bara Magna, they'd still pretty much amount to a single drop in a bucket full of water, especially since Bionicle characters in general tend to live for ridiculously long periods of time. And if they're really so advanced as you claim them to be, then New Atero's engineers probably wouldn't have realistically possessed the capacity to understand or decipher any of the blueprints they somehow managed to steal from them in the first place, nevermind use them to build a working prototype vehicle at all.

As for the drag issue, I'll concede that I somehow neglected to take that into consideration, but will also counter with the possibility that a pilot could simply limit their craft's speed to those of the Haulers', as the ability to do so is still usually a common feature on most modern vehicles, and not including a similar function on those belonging to a galaxy filled with technologically advanced alien robots would be downright silly. And again, since this point was apparently missed the first two times I brought it up, attaching themselves to a vehicle is only meant to provide it with additional armor; for them to actually use the winch offensively, they would have to detatch and pursue targets situated on the ground. However, given that you did bring it up and all, this also poses the question of whether or not they could latch onto a nearby craft and effectively slow both them and their pilot down enough for them to be easier to hit, but that's a discussion for another time. And considering that I started typing this about five hours ago, I believe I've spent more than enough of mine on this for today.

Seriously, all of this over wanting to roll into battle and possibly terrify the Karz out of some Vorox with a few robotic shark blimps. Ugh.

I don't know how I can make this any clearer - no means no.

You've taken a few vague lines from your characters backstory, and tried to spin it into an excuse to give her game-breaking hacking powers. Simply put, that is not going to fly. Pun very much intended.

If the sentence in question was too vague for your liking, then maybe it should've been amongst the list of changes you wanted me to make the first time I submitted her profile for approval. That way, we could've avoided this entire conversation.

Nevertheless, it still utterly dumbfounds me that the ability to program or reprogram relatively simple automated machinery is considered to be game-breaking (especially since this really only applies to weaponless Cargo Haulers as far as I know), but seeing as to how whipping out the GM Card seems to be the go-to solution for every discussion around here, I'm not even going to bother asking about what specifically led up to that particular conclusion.

Now if you'll excuse me, apparently I have to go edit a post from over a week ago, and devise an entirely new plan of attack.

There's nothing wrong with the sentence itself.

The issue here is that you're trying to twist that single line from your character's distant backstory: "she honed her skills working on experimental weaponry", into "she can casually disassemble and hack all of the tech in the game".

...but seeing as to how whipping out the GM Card seems to be the go-to solution for every discussion around here, I'm not even going to bother asking about what specifically led up to that particular conclusion.

To my knowledge, this is the first and only time I've "whipped out the GM card", as you put it. But for over a week now, you've been instigating and perpetuating pointless arguments over very straightforward issues, and refusing to take no for an answer no matter how concisely I try to explain things, leaving me with no other recourse.

You are not the only player in the game, but I am the only GM, and I simply do not have the time or patience to argue with you for days on end like this. Nor, I suspect, does the rest of the playerbase want to sit here and watch us endlessly debate back and forth. So, in the interests of keeping the discussion topic clear, and getting things moving again in the gameplay topic, yes, I chose to play my "GM card".

Name: Cou & Tuup

Species: Zesk

Gender: Male & Female, respectively

Powers: Enhanced Sight and Smell(no more beyond the common zesk), Implants that greatly increase the distance of their spit, and improve the impact slightly as well(like being hit with a small rock)

Gear: They both have light armoring underneath their showrunning clothes, well suited to ventilate air while underneath otherwise suffocating clothing. Each Zesk has a personal weapon:

  • The Elongating Apparatus: Cou possesses a metallic cane, painted black. The cane is capable of extending to at least one glatorian length, even to two in a pinch, though that has been seen to strain its stability. It’s extension is keyed to one of the many circlets around his wrist. Only he and Tuup know which one.

  • Four concealed throwing knives, two in each sleeve.

  • The Duplicitive Sunshade: Tuup bears an energy crossbow disguised as a parasol. While dormant the fan covers the bulk of the mechanisms, but when activated it splits to form a basis for the form of the bow. It can, of course, function as an average parasol.

Allegiance/Role: None; Wandering Merchants

Appearance: Both Zesk are done up in outrageously outlandish and bizarre clothes that they refer to as: “Pants”. They wear adorned and decorative robes upon their chests, but the trim has been shortened and tucked into these odd clothes. Suspenders also strap their pants up. They are slightly taller than the average Zesk.
Personality: While in the midst of selling wares and attracting customers, the duo seem to act in perfect unison, mimicking one another’s isms and demeanors, mostly consisting of overly cheery and pushy. They are especially shrewd business-zesk. While alone, the two become much more subdued in their actions, but even more so entwined. Years of living together has brought them incomparably close to each other, being honest and earnest while in only the other’s presence. Mostly. Tuup is something of a prankster, though she is susceptible to her ticklish nature. She is fond of the stars and sky, and enjoys taking the In a Dream, sans camper, for a spin. Cou adores making his closest friends(mostly just Tuup) laugh, and learning the history of the Matoran Universe. Neither one has much penchant for violence, not after having lived through the core wars and living by their wits for so long, but in difficult situations they will resort to it. While they are very close, and effective sales men, they are not skilled at cooperating in combat.

Bio: Cou and Tuup have been confidants and allies since the beginning of the Core War, growing up amongst destruction and violence. Naturally, the two came to know the follies and pains of war as intimately as they came to know each other. Which is to say, very intimately. They learned what the could in the ways of battle, Cou favoring melee combat and Tuup favoring Weaponry. Neither are experts, but with their individual weapons they are adept enough to defend themselves against thugs and thieves..

With the splitting of the planet, both Zesk were lucky enough to find themselves on the lush landscape of Bota Magna, where they were slowly able to build lives for themselves as traders. Growing into adults in this landscape, they quickly realized they had a talent for the slight of hand and tongue, and began to work as con men, or con zesk. Through this means they were able to garner a workable income, and obtain a few interesting curios. Among these curios were the Elongating Apparatus and Duplicitive Sunshade, old but reliable pieces of technology. They even raised a few of their own children, all of which at this point have flown the coop.

Upon reformation of the planet, Cou and Tuup quickly vacated the jungles in search of new “customers”. Using whatever money they had, they purchased an Axalara, and began to sell curios from it’s chassis. Exploring the wreckage surrounding the GSR, they were able to find a mostly intact Vahki Transport, containing a number of inert archives pieces. Fixing the transport as best they could, they converted it into a makeshift “air camper”, able to follow along behind In a Dream without too much difficulty, though they have to be careful not to stress the connection too much. Now, they wander from settlement to settlement, vending their wares and suckering any poor soul into spending exorbitant amounts on trinkets that have no value.

Name: In A Dream

Model: Axalara Camper Class

Weaponry: Bota Magnan Lizard Head

A head reclaimed from a Bota Magnan lizard, found dead in the now wasteland of Bota Magna, capable of firing an explosive energy blast from one eye. The head, though removed from the original body, has, in its connection to the ship’s energy conduits, somehow been brought back online. This does not make it easy to aim. However, the firing mechanism has been blocked and rerouted to the console of In a Dream, preventing the lizard from exacting justice upon its captor. When not in use, Cou and Tuup put an eyepatch over the mechanical eye so as not to unnerve his customers. He affectionately refers to it as “Leopold”.

Customization: In a Dream’s basic chassis has been so fundamentally modified from the original, T-9 Battle class, that it is more appropriately referred to as a “Camper Class” vehicle.

  • The rear of the vehicle has a durable mount for the modified vahki transport with levitation disks implemented into the design.

  • Said transport significantly slows down the ship, but still renders it much faster than an airship. If In a Dream is in the air, the legs will continue to skitter and crawl in the open air, as the pilots have no idea how to turn them off.

    • The transport contains all of their wares and goods, as well as a few assorted “attractions”. Said attractions include the alleged “Veil of Tren Krom”, said to have the eldtrichian face imprinted onto the cloth, “Dume’s Corpse”, the supposed body of the legendary leader of Metru Nui(who is probably not actually dead), and a container holding an actual krana. Duplicate merchandise and souvenirs of all these are sold in here, including Leopold bobbleheads(he’s something of a mascot).

  • In lieu of side mounted weapons, the side compartments are now more suited for showing merchandise and displaying curios. Once open, a curtain-draped frame extends from the hole and splays out across the area immediately above the ship, turning it into a canopied vendor.

Appearance: In a Dream is painted in vibrant pinks and blues, meant to contrast the surrounding desert landscape and pop out. The camper is also painted to look like it has a pair of insect wings across the bulk of the upper hull. Trinkets dangle from the sides and arms.

It's hard with a game like this to decide how far I'm willing to let things go, but I think in this case, I have to put my foot down.

When it comes to Cou & Toup, I just feel like there's way, way too much going on with this profile. They're fightbots, have enhanced perception stats, lethal bullet spit, a vast array of gimmicky tech items, an unspecified quantity of hidden grenades, and a backstory that fails to explain or justify how they got their hands on any of this stuff, or gained the technical know-how to utterly redesign their ship and equipment to the extent they have.

So I'm sorry, but Cou & Toup and the In A Dream are Not Approved.

Alright, you do make some fair points. This is a rough draft, after all.

As far as fightbot goes, I'm not sure what you mean? And how can I fix this?

The bullet spit wasn't meant to be lethal, just more... long range, and with a bit more force. I say bullets just as an example, but I can see how that comes across as sounding like actual, flesh/armor puncturing projectiles. That wasn't my intention, sorry. The grenades were, I'll admit, pretty last minute additions. I can easily take that out.

As far as the backstory goes, I can elaborate and add in more. It was pretty sparse.

As far as fightbot goes, I'm not sure what you mean?

Fightbots are generally defined as two or more characters designed for the sole purpose of teaming up.

The fact that Cou & Toup literally share a profile, the repeated inferences to their ability to work and operate in perfect unison, and the implication that they're combat experts, combined with the fact that they have so much crazy tech and weaponry at their disposal, basically makes them an unbeatable tag-team in a fight.

And how can I fix this?

This... is a little more difficult to address.

You can't really 'fix' fightbots. Even if you separated them into two profiles, they're still designed to work together.

The only thing I can think of, that would still let you maintain the core concept, would be to find another player you're willing to work with, and let them submit and control one half of the pair, or something along those lines.
