Learn About the Music of the Mata Nui Online Game

Recommended Posts

Yesterday the latest episode of Original Soundchat released, a podcast about videogame soundtracks. Why is this relevant? Because in Episode 121, hosts Joe DeVader and Peter Spezia discuss the Mata Nui Online Game and sit down with Justin Luchter, who was the composer of the music of the classic Templar game. They go through several of the tracks Justin wrote, discussing the process and their importance to the game. It's a really cool and unique look behind the scenes and twenty years into the past, and is well worth a listen!

Okay, that was interesting, and fun to hear from a guy who was legitimately a fan.  (Although there were a few parts where he was confused about something and I was like "oh I know where that's from..." so I dunno what that says about me, heh.)  MNOLG music was really great, and I still have one of the tracks as a ringtone.  Excited to hear that there might be a remix of it later this summer.  Fun listen.

Finally got a chance to listen to this (or at least the half that actually interests Bionicle fans like us). Interesting to hear some of the composer's backstory and which of the game's tracks he likes and dislikes. Quite a shame that the original files are probably ruined on some really old computer somewhere, but at least there's that not-so-subtle hint that we might see a remastered version later this summer.

These days, I am perhaps best known for my obsession with all Lego video games.
