For years, we've held a BBC contest during the summer where the entries are put on display at Brickfair Virginia, and voting takes place both on BZP and in-person at the convention. We've held off for the last two years, but we're back! We take cues from each Brickfair's theme for the contest theme. This year, it's construction. Very appropriate, nice choice. We're not playing it straight. This time, your mission is to build something in a state of deconstruction or decay. Show me something that's seen better days. Embrace that extant form of life. And once you've built your entry? Get It to Brickfair! Whether you're sending it in, letting it hitch a ride with a friend, or bringing it yourself, you have from now until Friday, August 5th at 10 A.M. Eastern to get it to Brickfair for voting. That's right: you've got over twice the time as usual to build and enter. For bonus points, register your entry on our convention circuit! By points, I mean things like free sets. That's basically a prize just for showing up. You'll need to do that separately, but you'll find all the information you need in this topic. But why wait? Let's get busy dying! ------------------------- You have from now until Friday, August 5th at 10:00 A.M. Eastern to submit your entries. Submit your entry by Friday, July 29 to have a custom MOC card made for your entry! To submit your entries, just use this handy form. Only one entry per person, please. ------------------------- Voting: Final Voting begins August 6th and ends August 7th at 11:59 P.M. Eastern. The contest winner and final voting results will be posted in a separate thread on August 9th. ------------------------- Rules: 1) Entries may not have been posted on BZPower prior to the start of the contest. It can be posted anywhere else before the contest, but it must never have been seen before on BZPower. Once entered, entries cannot be modified: you're committed to what you've entered. If you withdraw your entry, you cannot enter again that contest. If your entry is disqualified, you cannot enter again that contest. 2) Painted parts, non-LEGO parts, and parts edited in Photoshop are not permitted and will disqualify you. All other LEGO pieces are permitted, but the entry must be at least 75% Bionicle/Hero Factory/Technic. 3) Keep it clean, keep it civil. No flaming, no whining. Unsporting conduct will just get you disqualified. 4) Campaigning for votes (mass-PMing, etc), using multiple accounts to skew voting, and sundry other methods of cheating are only going to end in tears for you. Yes: in order to be eligible for voting for these specific contests, your entry needs to get to Brickfair Virginia somehow. Whether that's by sending it to Black Six, giving it to someone else who's attending, or by bringing it yourself is up to you.
