BZPower Anniversary Raffles and Giveaways

To celebrate BZPower's anniversary, we're giving away a bunch of swag! All members can head to the giveaways section of the site to enter for a chance to win some New York Comic Con posters as well as a promotional frisbee and pin. In addition, we're running two raffles: one for a Bionicle 2: The Legend of Metru Nui poster signed by its directors and another for a vintage copy of Bionicle The Game. All of the proceeds from the raffles will go to support Planned Parenthood, and much like our raffles earlier benefiting Ukrainian refugees, I will be matching your donations. Just a question: when did BZP start tying itself to blatantly political controversial fundraising organizations?

Andrew can do what he wants with his money, but for what reason is Hapori Tohu supporting Planned Parenthood, which, among the other services mentioned by Black Six in the two giveaways, deals directly with pregnancy abortions in America? Notwithstanding the BZPower Administration's reservation of "the right to alter, enforce, add, or waive any rules for any specific member at any time," one of the BZPower rules state that "Political sigs, posts, and PMs are not allowed on BZPower. This includes other topics related to politics such as abortion or gun control as well as any statement promoting or insulting certain political ideologies." I suggest Hapori Tohu find a different organization to support immediately.

Thanks for pointing out that we probably need to revisit and revise those rules. They were written well over a decade ago, and with time comes more clarity. Human rights, including reproductive rights, should be a standard for every person on this planet, not a political issue.

Sorry, but it’s a little tough to “semantics” this one, as the organization in question gives absolute millions in campaign funding to politicians and is inherently a political organization. You know quite well this is a hot button issue that is politically charged, whether or not you think it should be, and wish casting doesn’t change that.
