Hi everyone
I don't know if I'm in the right place to ask this, if not you can delete this message.
We have a very large Lego Bionicle sculpture of Keelerak. It's at least 10 years old and the bricks are glued together.

We want to sell it, so we are looking for a bit of information about it. Can you help us and tell us a bit more about it?

Thanks in advance!!!

You can see the pictures here: https://link.2dehands.be/m1961398084

Measurements total piece (including green bottom piece):
Width: 80 cm
Length: 110 cm
Height: 115cm

Ooh, I KNOW I've seen photos of that one, or at least a very similar model, back in the day. I thought it was here on BZP, but a quick search through the news archives didn't immediately reveal it.

I definitely have a saved photo of the model that I must have found somewhere on the internet though; from that picture's context it looks like it was a model at an official Lego shop, or maybe a Legoland park store? Definitely must be from 2005, that was the year those sets were new. I wonder if a deeper trawl through the BZP news archives for that year might turn up something more on it...

I would reach out to LEGO support! They’ve got a history department that does a pretty great job of tracking this stuff, especially if you have photos!

Best of luck!

According to BS01, a brick-built Keelerak was made for promotions and given away in a competition. There's not much info on what happened to it, but based on the one picture I can find, it looks almost exactly like what you've got there.

You might have just solved a big community mystery.

Interesting! You’d think OP would have mentioned winning it would they have been the winner. I’d assume they’re second or third owner.

I believe they had similar display models in store, and considering the large plinth it’s mounted on, I’d lean toward this being a store display.

I've spent eight years wondering what happened to that giant Keelerak. I'm glad it's still preserved. It's beautiful, and it's a piece of Bionicle history.

I'm with Dr. Jones on this one: "This belongs in a museum!"
