Hapori Tohu
Earlier today, The LEGO Group posted a press release sharing their financial results for the first half of 2024. Overall, it seems like the company is doing quite well, with growth outpacing the rest of the toy industry. One thing that stuck out to me was the opening of forty-one new stores, although if you read the fine print, this includes, "LEGO Travel Retail stores," which may include things like the LEGO vending machines you see in airports, but is unclear. The other big takeaway is that, "30 percent of all resin purchased was certified mass balance, which translates to an estimated average of 22 percent material from renewable and recycled sources," which seems like a major milestone. Even if LEGO bricks can't be made from entirely recycled materials, it's good to see more renewable resources coming into play!View the full article Quote News Forums Q&A
