The unused plans for the 2009-2011 trilogy

Hi, guys. A short while ago, Duck Bricks from YouTube collected ancient documents from Christian Faber and showed us them. He showed us original ideas for the 2006-2008 trilogy, the 2009-2011 trilogy, and Hero Factory (not to mentioned making it share the same universe as Bionicle G1! Not the way I expected, like Makuro being a Makuta in disguise, but yes). Shortly after this, Lego rudely told Duck Bricks to delete his YouTube videos about the reveals for some reason (though at least some of us managed to take notes and posted them here, BioSector01, and HEROSector01). That was a dark day, and Lego shouldn’t have done that (what’s wrong with Lego when it comes to Bionicle and Hero Factory these days? It’s getting a little annoying). 

Anyway, let’s talk about the 2009-2011 trilogy because it’s very interesting. I will tell you what I remember from the videos. 

The 2009 story arc is very much like what we got, but with slightly differences. Some of the characters’ names were changed. I remember hearing that Metus (formerly known as Galax) was trying to get the Mask of Life from Mata Nui, but this turns him into a snake, which is like Jafar from Disney’s Aladdin in 1992. We have seen some concept art for Bionicle: The Legend Reborn that we have never seen before. There was a scene in a storyboard where Kiina was speaking in a Russian accent. 

The 2010 story arc is very much like the rough draft script for the canceled fifth Bionicle direct-to-video movie (like how that canceled graphic novel, The Power of the Great Beings, tried to copy the script of the movie a little), which Greg Farshtey showed us back in December 2009. 

The 2011 story arc would be what the canceled sixth Bionicle movie would be about. This one is a completely original idea, which probably inspired the Bota Magna chapters of the online serial called “Reign of Shadows”, and the two infamously-unfinished online serials, The Yesterday Quest and The Powers That Be, and the infamous 2010 story arc with the Stars sets. Here’s the story as far as I remember: 

After Mata Nui and his friends (I think Ackar and Kiina) accidentally used a rocket ship to go to Bota Magna, the ship is damaged. They go find one of the Great Beings’ labs in Bota Magna to try to repair the ship, so they can return home in Bara Magna. They fight bio-mechanical dinosaurs. They encounter and fight Agori who have metal and plant mixed together. These Agori blame the Great Beings for the Shattering, so they hate technology. They attack Mata Nui and his friends, and they will try to destroy the ship. Mata Nui and his friends find the lab and get the equipment that can be used to repair the ship. Mata Nui got hurt during the battles when one of his muscle tissues got destroyed. He replaced it with plants, giving him the ability to revive plants. Mata Nui and his friends repair the ship and use it to get back to Bara Magna. Mata Nui goes to a part of the Valley of the Maze, where he learns about his origins. He goes to the prototype of the Great Spirit Robot and uses it as his own body. Mata Nui tries to merge Aqua Magna and Bota Magna back with Bara Magna to reform Spherus Magna, but Makuta Teridax, who is controlling the Great Spirit Robot, comes to Bara Magna and confronts Mata Nui. Mata Nui tries to tell Makuta to help him restore Spherus Magna, but Makuta is interested in universal conquest and fights Mata Nui. Makuta allows some villains from the Matoran Universe, including Skakdi, the Skakdi warlord named Nektann, and Rahkshi, to come to Bara Magna to fight Mata Nui’s Bara Magna allies. Some of the heroes from the Matoran Universe follow Makuta’s minions to Bara Magna and help the Bara Magna heroes fight them. The Skrall, angry about their defeat by Mata Nui and his Bara Magna allies, come to help the villains destroy the Bara Magna heroes and their Matoran Universe allies. The Great Spirit Robot is defeating the prototype because the Great Spirit Robot is stronger than the prototype, but Mata Nui uses one of the two moons to destroy Makuta once and for all, heavily damaging the Great Spirit Robot as a result. He then rips apart the Great Spirt Robot like a piece of paper to free the rest of the Matoran Universe’s people. The moons go back to the planet, restoring Spherus Magna finally. Mata Nui feels bad about Makuta being killed because Mata Nui believed that Makuta could have been his brother by honor and partner, but Makuta wanted to do evil, and Mata Nui had no choice but to destroy him to stop him. Mata Nui moves on, and uses the remaining power of the prototype, the power of the Mask of Life, and his plant powers to restore the planet’s destroyed plant life, turning Spherus Magna back to the way it was before the Shattering. The prototype is destroyed and Mata Nui loses his plant powers because of the restoration, but Mata Nui survives by going back to the Mask of Life right before the prototype’s destruction. Perhaps the Great Beings will show themselves. Mata Nui tells his allies from both worlds to go peacefully build a new society with each other. He goes to sleep for a while, and the people will start to doing his word. 

Basically, the story arc with the Stars sets is a shorten version of the original plans for the 2010 and 2011 story arcs, and the online serials are based on the original Bota Magna-related plans for the 2011 story arc. I wish the original plans had come true rather than the Stars story arc because it sounds better. However, Mata Nui should bring Gresh and Berix with him. Also, he is not a Toa of Plant Life. He is like Toa Ignika, who is the Toa of Life. 

I hope Lego will reconsider letting Duck Bricks show us more of the content. I mean, I hope we will get more concept art of Bionicle: The Legend Reborn, its soundtrack and score (all this to get even with the other three Bionicle movies), more concept art, soundtrack, and score of the Hero Factory TV show and other HF things, and soundtrack and score of Bionicle: The Journey to One. We need to find these treasures. Bionicle’s first cancellation plagues me, and the original ideas for the 2009-2011 made me cry because I always wanted The Legend Reborn to have its canceled trilogy. It’s beautiful.

Heh. I wish we have the power to delete the topics, but this topic is there to tell you guys what I remember. You can’t banish knowledge, you know.

BZPower has had rules in place for YEARS that say otherwise. If the stuff is considered leaked, THEN YOU'RE NOT TO DISCUSS IT. END OF.

BZPower has not declared anything. It didn’t today. How do we know? This thing only works on Bionicle sets and story if Bionicle is still running. Today, BZPower is just focusing on raffles, and doesn’t say something everyday in the news feed.
