Trevsky Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 (edited) 4/5. Iron Maiden is a great classic rock band.Call Me Maybe as covered by Ben Howard (please do not rate the original song) Edited June 1, 2012 by Leada Quote
Queen of Liars Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 3.5/5 I really like the music, but his voice doesn't feel right with it.Wishing Eye - Slam Cartel Quote ___ ___ ___
pls respond Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 2.5/5 it's okay, but the modern rock sound has never really been enjoyable for me. Better than most of the bands playing this stuff, however. Vocals in the chorus are kinda weak too.All Your Heart - Transit Quote
Protodite Karzahni Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 3/5. At first I was enjoying it, but then there was just something about the singers voice that started grating on me. It's still enjoyable though.Bartholomew - The Silent Comedy Quote I wrote stories once. They were okay.
Queen of Liars Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 4/5 Good stuff, very enjoyable. Violent New Breed - Shotgun Messiah Quote ___ ___ ___
pls respond Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 (edited) 4/5 the slow opening works pretty well, and for whatever reason the bizarre combination of industrial and glam works out in its favor. not digging the vocals so much, but i've never loved the style so the fact that i enjoyed this is at all probably a good thing. guitar solos over mechanical backing is pretty awesome, it turns out.The Worst Of Both Worlds - Backtrack Edited June 1, 2012 by Idunnolol Quote
Queen of Liars Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 (edited) 4/5 Digging the riff. The song kind of reminds me of Slayer for some reason, except hardcore and more modern. Really like the drums too. Good stuff.Hammer Of The Gods - Saxon Edited June 1, 2012 by -Tragic Idol- Quote ___ ___ ___
pls respond Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 3/5 opening riff is pretty killer, sounds like it came straight from the 80s. this is pure classic metal. unfortunately the vocals have always been my issue with the genre, i just can't dig how cheesy they are. track works pretty well overall, but it's not my style. solo is killer thoughOak Square - Make Do And Mend Quote
Queen of Liars Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 3/5 Has that skate-punk feel and reminds me of stuff I used to listen to, but it's not my thing. Probably wouldn't sit though a whole album. I do like the opening though. The Hill Of The Seven Jackals - John 5 Quote ___ ___ ___
Taka Nuvia Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 4/5 No voice? Doesn't matter. Not at all. But it's a bit too fast for my tastes, so 'only' 4 out of 5.Three Wishes - Klaus Nomi Quote My art collection topic - updated! (21/09/2021)

pls respond Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 2.5/5 never really liked rise against, especially the new stuff. just kinda meh overall. this was the best track on AtR thoughDo It Yourself - Punch Quote
Queen of Liars Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 3.5/5 Short and sweet. Like the instruments, not too fond of the vocals, but they're not too bad.Perry Mason - Ozzy Osbourne Quote ___ ___ ___
Laughing Man Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 (edited) 3.5/5 - one of my favorites off Ozzmosis, but like the rest of that album it's nothing amazing overall. "Mary Ann's Place" - Volbeat Edited June 2, 2012 by Zoidberg Quote
Queen of Liars Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 3/5 It's good but it starts to get a bit bland to me after a while, possibly due to the vocals, although the female vocalist was a nice surprise. The riff near the beginning was pretty sweet. Two Headed Dog (Red Temple Prayer) - Roky Erickson Quote ___ ___ ___
pls respond Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 2.5/5 intro is really abrasive for a song like this, caught me off guard. it's okay, sounds just like every other dadrock song though. can't say i really dig it. it's just average. not bad, not really great thoughRuined - Sex Positions Quote
Queen of Liars Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 3/5 Like the intro and the end, but the rest of it seems like typical hardcore and doesn't really hold my interest.Ballad Of John Henry - Joe Bonamassa Quote ___ ___ ___
pls respond Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 (edited) 3.5/5 the main riff is pretty massive, i like it. again with the southern influence, it works well with the song's stomping rhythm. it's too long for it's own good though, should've taken a minute or two off. pretty good thoughDerailed - Joyce Manor Edited June 3, 2012 by Idunnolol Quote
Protodite Karzahni Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 (edited) 2/5. Queen of Liars Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 2.5/5 I don't know, it just feels boring and uninspired to me. There's nothing bad in particular, but as a whole the song it just fails to interest me.Fear Of The Dark - Iron Maiden Quote ___ ___ ___
pls respond Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 3.5/5 maiden is classic, but i'm not the biggest fan of traditional heavy metal. still pretty good thoughPrimal Reflector - Exoskeleton Quote
Queen of Liars Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 It's Primal Reflecter. That didn't help when looking for it Anyway, 1.5/5 Pretty dreadful, although at about 30 seconds in I thought they were gonna break into the Iron Man riff. I think I could sit through the album, but wouldn't want to at all.Bad Place Alone - Alice Cooper Quote ___ ___ ___

Transcendence Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 (edited) 2-3/5 I prefer when vocals have some sort of dynamic qualities. If it's shouting/screaming from beginning to end, it's not innovative. Honestly, I think the melodies are better than the actual vocals, but that's just me. I should add that I'm very picky about music, so ignore my opinion if you want Power & Control - Marina & The Diamonds Edited June 6, 2012 by No Light Quote
The Lord Of Wednesday Posted June 7, 2012 Author Posted June 7, 2012 3.5/5, a little more repetitive then I care for, at least for this song, but very catchy and I overall liked it.Gortoz A Ran (Elegia Remix) - Denez Prigent (note that you will not find this in most public places, you can find it on itunes, or amazon mp3, if you don't want to pay money then you can listen to it on Spotify, mog, or rdio, it is worth looking for in my opinion). Transcendence Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 (edited) 4/5 Very soothing. No offensive elements there at all. The only thing I'll have to be picky about are the male vocals. I'm allergic! Haha no, it's just that I like female vocals a whole lot more. But I like the song and I like that it's in a foreign language, makes you focus only on the soul and atmosphere of the song.Breath Of Life - Florence + The Machine Edited June 7, 2012 by Vespertine Quote

pls respond Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 4/5 wasn't really feeling it at first, but at around the 2 minute mark when the industrial beat came in it got more my thing. still not the biggest fan of vocals in this style though. huge soaring vocals aren't my thing. the drum beat actually works pretty well against the orchestral backings. not liking the spoken words stuff either. this sounds like something that could easily back up a movie soundtrack. i didn't mind the length that much either. usually longer songs have to be exceptional to hold my interest. The Behemoth - The Acacia Strain Quote
