In another 11 years...

That depends if Bionicle ever comes back. If it somehow survived for another 11 years, I think this place will start talking about all of the replacements for HF because it probably got replaced and of course, a bit of Bionicle but it might get too old. Also, I don't know if this place will even survive the eleven years. All good things must come to an end sometime.

What do you think BZPower will be like?
I have no idea. :P
Do you think that BZPower will survive for another eleven years?
I do think that BZP will survive for another 11 years. I'm not sure if it will have as many active members as it does now though. It will depend on what is going on on BZP and what Lego lines are out at the time.
What do you think we will talk about then?
Probably whatever Lego lines and products are out at that time.
Will you have something to say if BZP lasts that long?
Yes. It will be 'congrats on lasting this long, BZP!' :P Edited by The Smoke Monster

I don't have the hint of a slightest idea how BZPower may be like then or if it even exists. There is just so insanely much that can happen during that time and influence the outcome that I won't even try. It could be anything from dead to the most active LEGO forum in the world.-Gata signoff.png

By the year...Let me consult my calculator...yes by the year 2023 (yes?), I fully expect the internet to be a complete virtual reality that humans can experience in life-size holographics complete with jet packs and flying cars. If I walk in again in 11 years, I expect there to be a huge sign saying 'Welcome to BZ-Koro' and a diverse group of the BZPers of the future dressed as various biomechanical beings walking around and acting out RPG's and sitting in the Library reading stuff from the good old days (from like 11 years ago) and waltzing through a beautiful Art and BBC gallery. If it is anything less, I will be disappointed.

THISNO REALLYTHIS IS AMAZINGThat is, if it survives that long. There is some hope that Bionicle could start up again by then, and then there would be a glorious wave of nostalgia.

That would be awesome. :D I would have found paradise. :PIn another 11 years... I have no idea what this place would be like. It would either be active or dead. 11 years is just too far away.

I have hopes for it. I imagine it will develop to have a less BIONICLE-focused user group, and more LEGO-focused as more users join. I hope that there will be more activity around LEGO Discussion and its subforums though...

BZP's slowing down, and it's nothing like it once was as far as activity is concerned, but we still have much more activity than many, many forums out there. Plus, we have a constant influx of new members who are at least semi-active.Eleven years, though ... BZP'd turn 22, and I'm not sure if that's feasible. At the same time, I'm not going to rule anything like that out; who knows? The site has years left in it, but I think eleven might be a stretch.

I don't expect BZP to be much of a website in 11 years. If it remains, there will probably be a smaller staff, fewer active members than there are presently, and very distant memories of Bionicle. Life has a way of growing us up and keeping us very busy. Nostalgia doesn't always outweigh the busyness of life, and in 11 years, there will be a new generation that completed missed Bionicle and what it offered us. That's not to say they won't stumble upon it and find all that we left behind across the internet, but I doubt that will be enough to maintain BZP even in the state it's in now by the time another 11 years pass. I would be impressed to see this site around in another 11 years though. I'd probably log in, for old times' sake.-Ced

Eleven years is a really long time. I mean, stop for a sec and cast your mind back eleven years. What was your life like then? What's it like now?I don't know if BZP will be around in another eleven years. Realistically speaking, I'd say it's unlikely, just because as Ced said life tends to sweep people up, and without any new life from Bionicle the number of new members and topics to discuss will dwindle. Of course, that's not to say we'll all have gone our separate ways - I'd say Hahli Husky and Janus are rather good proof of the strength of the community this place has built up - but BZP as we know it today probably won't be going then, unless Lego's focus testing suddenly finds that there's tremendous market demand for toys and story based around biomechanical beings with elemental powers once again.

Hey: I'm not very active around BZP right now.  However, you can always contact me through PM (I have email notifications set up) and I will reply as soon as I can.

Well, unless Bionicle comes back BZPower will probably be Hero Factory and other Lego line-based. But I wonder how long that will actually last. BZPower might not even exist in 11 years, it probably won't. And it if will, it might as well be a shadow of its former self. Heck, for all we know, there might not even be an internet in 11 years. And...well....I don't know what I'll have to say if it survives until then. Maybe comments on the duration of a dedicated fandom (unless this becomes HF/HF-Replacement Power), notes about how everyone has grown up and led their own lives, etc. The site may end, but our lives will only just begin.Sorry if that sounded discordant.

Hmm... Well, BZP seems to have been branching out a bit more to the general LEGO franchise. I can't say if I'll grow out of my LEGO hobby any time soon (though, eleven years isn't exactly soon. XP). Honestly, if BZP does last that long, my presence would depend on who is still on the site. Now I can chat, normally, with people within, say, five years of my own age. After a decade, a site like this (if still around) would likely still be gaining new members. I joined when I was twelve, myself, and I can't say I'd be too interested in chatting with younger kids when I'm that old. =/ Though, if other members currently active stayed, I might stick around and chat here and there. Though, I don't see myself making any topics, participating in contests, etc at that age.

11 years is a very long time, indeed and so much can happen. I can agree with that as everyone has said. And even thinking about my life 11 years ago, everything was just so different. To imagine it 11 years in the future, I can imagine things will change drastically. The life of BZPower could also change drastically within 11 years. With the end of the Bionicle toy line, there's no so much activity on here as there once was. No more lengthy and debated discussions on new sets, not too many more storyline theories (there's a few, I know, but in the old days there was a lot more), and essentially not too much discussion as there once was. I know there is still some, but not as much. I still remember the days the forums would go offline because of too many people being online at once.If somehow demand for Lego toys changes and persuades Lego to reboot Bionicle, thus reviving the need to fans to gather again and discuss and so on, then that changes everything. If not, then it is possible that perhaps BZP might become a general sort of Lego discussion forum where we can still talk about Bionicle, but at the same time perhaps talk about other themes and series going on at the time. I could see that happening, but again a lot can happen and it is uncertain. I'd kind of like to think the latter though, if Bionicle doesn't get some sort of revival. You never know, but it is still not easy to tell.

I'd love BZP to make it another 11 years, I'm honestly shocked it made it to its first 11. I think if BZP were to survive another 11 years it would be much more focused on off-topic discussions and lego discussions, unless Bionicle makes a comeback (Oh please, make a comeback). I imagine the community will be smaller, but I'm sure it will have a constant of influx of people like myself who come back for nostalgia sake.

  • What do you think BZPower will be like?

It will probably be renamed Lego Zone Power. :P Also, the BZP community will probably be smaller, since people like me are already starting to lose interest.

  • Do you think that BZPower will survive for another eleven years?

Honestly, no.

  • What do you think we will talk about then?

If it survives, we'll probably be focusing more on other Lego themes and Lego in general.

  • Will you have something to say if BZP lasts that long?

22 years? Imagine what the spinny will be! :o

It depends on how active the community is, and how much that activity degrades over time. For instance, whilst there may not be much news to discuss if Hero Factory were ever to go down the tubes and no Technic sets stepped up to fill the void, new fanart, short stories, and roleplays could still be streaming in. The only problem would be that with nothing Bionicle out there, no new members would arrive to replace the old ones that gradually lose interest.

Man, I'm gonna be 34 then, I'm not sure I'll want it to be around then.
O.oO.OSo will I... welp that just made me feel old.Really though, I don't think I could ever leave BZPower, I came close a few times, but I know that I never could leave the site. I'll be here until the end.

I can imagine BZP lasting that much longer, but equally I can't imagine me staying interested for that amount of time. I could call it 5-6 years for me maybe, if I get the right University course (Yes, that's somehow relevant :P), but beyond University I dunno if I'll have time for the site. I hope I will. 11 years doubles BZPowers current life, 6 years would double my current time on it (That's also some how relevant :P).11 years is a long way off, I'll be just over a year 'til 30 then. That's old. And really scary.

I feel like BZP'll be around as long as the community's still here. I don't know who's come and gone over the years, and how many people will stay here that long just for the conversation, but I personally don't think I'll be leaving any time soon.Let's be honest though, Bionicle's return isn't going to cause some sort of miraculous renaissance on the site. IF (and that's a big if) it comes back, it probably wouldn't be tied to closely to the old series. That's a lot of story to shove onto new fans. Look at, say, Power Miners. You see that and go, "oh, it's people digging underground for crystals and fighting some weird creatures." It makes sense quickly. Whereas Bionicle, it's "this team of heroes lived on an island then it got attacked by an evil guy who was supposed to be only one but he's a whole race and there are these bounty hunters so anyway the citizens were put into pods and taken to an island and left there then the heroes went back and got turned into monsters..." and so on. And that's the first few years. If Bionicle is going to come back, it needs to be something new fans can get into easily.

Generation reeeeeeeeeeeee: If you see this, don't copy it into your signature. Get off your computer. Go outside! Go for a walk! Appreciate the beauty of the world while you're young and energetic and full of unwarranted enthusiasm.

I doubt the site will survive another 11 years, but if it does, then I suppose it'll be pretty small-time website, with a few members clinging onto it, not wanting to give up on the past. I admit I'd probably be one of those members. We'd probably just be socialising more with each other than talking about BIONICLE by then, and besides, I'd be in my mid-twenties in eleven years.

Good grief, eleven years ago I was like, five years old. I didn't have a care in the world, and at that point that included Bionicle (I didn't discover it until 2003). That said, I honestly don't expect the site to still be here, unless Bionicle returns in some fashion and enough members are left to jump-start the site again. I think we have anywhere from four-six years here.I can't really say much, as anything could happen by the time I'm 27, but for now I like to think that I'll be able to check in at least once a week and see how things are going. -ibrow

BZP has definitely slowed down in the past few years; if this trend continues, I doubt BZP will last another 11 years. But if the site expands to include more LEGO themes, perhaps even becoming a general LLEGO site one day, I think there's a good chance of it surviving.

I really don't think BZPower will survive that long. Think about it. Do you see any forums dedicated to Lego Space? Of course not. Nowadays, all that remains of Classic Space is a cardboard box, an instruction manual, a few JPGs on the internet, some Lego media, and several Lego bricks. Soon, Bionicle will be the same. Although, I have high hopes for Bionicle Zone Power being replaced by Ninjago Zone Power...

In all honesty, bar Bionicle coming back, I think it'll slowly fade into irrelevance. It's sad to say, but it's struggling as is now, don't really see much of a path forward after another 11 years. Then again, it's hard to say what the internet will even be like 11 years from now, so it's like prognosticating what anything will look like in 2023. All I know is I'll be in my early 30s. :P
