Lewa0111 Nuva Posted October 17, 2011 Share Posted October 17, 2011 Hi everyone, I just had a quick question regarding editing signatures. I already figured out how to edit my signature, but when I go to my profile, click "edit profile" and then click "edit signature," the edit box comes up but whenever I try to click inside the edit box at the bottom, my browser freezes up. I'm running Firefox right now and I've tried it multiple times, after restarting the browser and the computer. Every time, editing my signature causes this crash. I can edit posts, topics, blog posts, etc. no problem, but if I try to change my signature it freezes. Has anyone else encountered this problem, and do you know how to fix it? iPenguin Posted October 17, 2011 Share Posted October 17, 2011 (edited) Try it with add-ons disabled. Do you still have the problem? EDIT: If that doesn't work, boot firefox in "safe mode." Erebus Posted October 17, 2011 Share Posted October 17, 2011 You may want to hit the Toggle editing mode button located at the top left corner of the editing box. As soon as I go to the "edit signature" page, the browser freezes, and I have not had a chance to try toggling the editing mode. However, using Internet Explorer lets me edit my signature normally for some odd reason. I don't know if it would work on any other browsers, since those are the only two I have. It's possible that an older version of Firefox may have it's javascript engine throw a fit with this edit box. It doesn't explain why you can post without issue, but it's worth looking into. However, I've managed to use it for signatures only and it works just fine. Still don't know what's causing the Firefox freeze, but I can work around it now, I guess.
