The area was a massive building, known as the Offsite Storage Facility. A facility so large that when consulted, even Mr. Makuro had been unable to tell how far down it went. The cause of the problem was a disturbance several weeks previous, a disturbance the heroes of Hero Factory had been unable to gather any information about, aside from the fact that an area of up to five miles away from the facility in every direction had turned pitch black. As well as the fact that immediately afterward all communications ceased on the side of the facilitySo William Furno, Dunkan Bulk, and Jimi Stringer had been dispatched to deal with the issue. What they found upon entering the building was nothing. There were no workers keeping the facility running, nor any of the small time criminals that had been housed from levels B3 to B7. It was as if they had all just vanished in thin air at the same time that the facility went dark. Before all three vanished without a trace like everyone else within the facility, Jimi Stringer did manage to send a message that contained words that should have never been linked with a Hero Factory facility...“Somethin’ hunting us... Bulk gone, Furno unconscious. Dunno how long we’re gonna last here... somethin’ in the walls... there were guns... meteor blasters... a giant axe... other stuff. It feels like... nothing I’ve ever seen. It’s... there’s nothing safe here... every step could... send us into the abyss... oh no... no, it’s back... gotta go, gotta-”Hero Factory has poked and prodded within the top five levels (four of which are above ground) several times since, but as of yet no evidence of any value has been found. However, the legendary Preston Stormer has been assigned to lead the next search team, and he has been authorized to bring five other heroes with him. This is where you come in. As a hero of Hero Factory (rookie or veteran, Hero Factory no longer cares), you have been deemed as disposable enough to risk being sent on this mission. Should you wish to join, you may be one of the first since Furno’s lost team to experience the horrors of the Offsite Storage Facility. Should you decide that accompanying Stormer is not something you wish to attempt at this time, there are still countless villains that must be captured after the Breakout, and some of these villains are on the verge of enacting possibly universe-threatening plots. This is where you begin. The Story in Short:Before the breakout, the Offsite Storage Facility (OSF for short) was used by Hero Factory as a massive subterranean complex to store experimental weapons, experimental failed hero designs, and just experiments in general.

After the massive breakout that was set off by the villain Voltix, Hero Factory had the massive Offsite Storage Facility levels B3 to B7 (five of the higher subterranean levels) converted into heavily locked down jail cells as a safety measure to hold some of the first villains to be recaptured after the incident, and to make sure these villains remained in captivity during any similar strikes in the future. The most notable of the villains held here was Black Phantom, who was re-captured by Rocka shortly after the breakout first occurred.

However, several weeks previously a blackout occurred spontaneously, covering a large area around the facility. All communications with the facility fell silent, and three heroes were dispatched to investigate – none have returned. Now Hero Factory has assigned Preston Stormer to the case – and five heroes are to accompany him investigate the disappearances of Dunkan Bulk, William Furno and Jimi Stringer, and if possible determine the cause of the blackout. Meanwhile, for the rest of Hero Factory sightings of villains all over the galaxy are increasing with great speed, and some of the heroes begin to suspect that the powers in control of Hero Factory have dark secrets that have been covered up by a web of lies. It will be up to you whether you try to discover if these suspicions are true.

The Rules

  1. Follow the BZPower Rules & Guidelines.
  2. Try to keep OOC (Out of character) posts to a minimum as much as possible. If you have something to say OOC, try to attach an IC (in character) section to it as well. To add on to this, please label whether you are speaking IC or OOC.
  3. Please keep the content appropriate in standing with BZPower’s rules.
  4. No godmodding, metagaming, bunnying, or tennising.Godmodding: Making your character perform impossible feats, such as cuffing a villain on the first throw.Metagaming: Using OOC knowledge in the game. (i.e. if you read a pair of villains having a private conversation detailing every facet of their next scheme for galaxy domination while your Hero is currently at the Factory, you may not have him go report the villains. In layman's terms, keep IC and OOC knowledge seperate.)Bunnying: Taking control of another player's character and dictating their actions without permission.Tennising: Repeated back-and-forth posts between just two players. It makes it harder for others to jump in.
  5. Do not kill other player's characters or important NPCs without permission. If you're not sure whether or not an NPC counts as important, feel free to shoot me a PM.
  6. And of course, have fun.

Profile Sheet

Fill this in to tell us what your character is like and all that jazz. You can use this sheet for both heroes and villains, so don’t pay too much attention to the details described below.

You can have up to three characters.

Name: (What is your Hero's name?)Gender: (Male or female?)Appearance: (What does your Hero/villain look like? A 1 paragraph or greater description. A picture is worth a thousand words, so a snapshot of a Hero/villain MoC works just as well.)Personality: (A brief description of what your hero/villain is like.)Background: (Your hero/villain's backstory. Can be as simple as 'built yesterday for the Breakout mission' to a novel length epic summarizing your past accomplishments. 1-2 paragraphs recommended, though.)Equipment: (What has your Hero/Villain been equipped with, besides the standard issue Hero Cuffs? Describe armor and weaponry here.)Skillset: (What your Hero/Villain excels at, as well as areas they're lacking in. No perfect characters, please - include flaws!)Other: (Anything else you want to let me know.)

Plots and Schemes: (Just for the Villains – what are your plans? After all, a good villain is never sitting around doing nothing.)

Mission Log:

1. Offsite Storage Facility: (Run by: iBrow + fishers) Status: Determining

After the blackout of the Offsite Storage Facility, heroes Furno, Bulk and Stringer have gone missing, along with every single prisoner or staff of the facility. A team of six heroes to be led by Stormer is about to go through the selection process.

2. The Breakout: (Run by: iBrow + fishers) Status: Ongoing

This is a massive project that has taken top priority, even over the Offsite Storage Facility incident. The mission is simple: capture all escaped convicts (and even new ones never captured before, if you happen to run into them) and bring them back to Hero Factory for imprisonment.

3. The Doom Box: (Run by: iBrow) Status: ???

Rumors are abound that the escaped convict and former Hero known as “Core Hunter” has hidden three fragments of an artifact known as the “Doom Box” in separate corners of the galaxy. Should Core Hunter assemble the three pieces, the consequences will be dire.

4. Tranquis VII: (Run by: fishers) Status: ???

The planet of Tranquis VII has gone completely silent, and Hero Factory is currently assembling a team to investigate the cause.

AND ONE LAST NOTE: ALL CANON CHARACTERS, UNLESS STATED, WILL BE CONTROLLED BY THE STAFF OF THE RPG (myself and fishers64).

SECONDARY NOTE: All villains mentioned in canon (more simply, those that have been made as sets) are still free, with the exceptions of Black Phantom, Toxic Reapa, Splitface, Voltix, Speeda Demon and Jawblade. The events of the Breakout episode did occur, but all villains are missing after the OSF incident.

Name: Eilana Angelic (An-HEL-ik)

Gender: Female

Appearance: Her head is quite like Breez's, but modified slightly in a few ways: one, the little extensions Breez has on her 'cheekbones' are not present, and instead it's simply a smooth curve up to where Breez has her main winglets. Those are replaced by little metallic feathered winglets, which don't jut out at as sharp of an angle as Breez's, with the base being silver. Her eyes, which are modeled to look more kindly than happy, are a minty green, quite like the color of this text. The rest of her head is just flat, with golden lines forming feathered wings and halos acting like tattoos. The whole helm is mainly white, other than the sections discussed before.
The first thing you notice about Eliana are the large, golden feathered wings that she has connected to her body via silver extensions. The feathers are synthetic, but model those of birds very well.
Her armor is much like her helm, white with golden designs and silver highlights. The Hero Core resting in her chest is a minty green color like her eyes, and the design directly to either side is a splash of pure gold, with silver lines marking out wings much like her own.
Personality: Quite like the being from myth she's named after, Eilana is calm, collected, kind, and yet can be filled with righteous fury when the moment demands it. She's one to hesitate before charging in, to form a simple plan and then go. Complex plans she doesn't use as often, there's 'too many things that rely on another, if one piece goes wrong the whole will collapse.'
She does struggle with self-esteem issues, feeling she's never as good as she could be and that she could always to a little bit better, do more for the team.

Background: Eliana was built as an experiment to test out how well the Factory could mesh animal characteristics with Heroes to create permanent combinations that would serve different purposes. (Built-in claws, wings, etc. w/o having to get a specific upgrade that could be written over, as happened in the Savage Planet series) Her test was to implement flight in a more versatile way than just add-on wings or jets, to have wings that were forever a part of the Hero. They succeeded, and Eilana Angelic was made with a modified frame, changed to make it extremely difficult to forever remove her wings and support her body when she flies.
By the time this had happened, however, the Alpha team had already wrapped up the business on Quatros, and so the only reason she ever went was to study the wildlife to find how to use her wings most effectively.
She's recently recaptured Thunder along with a squad of Heroes, and is currently waiting for her next mission.

Equipment: Well, the obvious one is her wings, which are lightweight, tough, and yet very mobile. The Factory truly put most of their resources into creating her wings, meaning the designs on her armor mainly come from her finding the materials and doing it herself, with the help of more experienced Heroes to make it both beautiful and strong. The designs aren't just there for decoration, they reinforce her armor, which isn't as strong as most. This leads to her main defense being her wings for long-range attacks, and her golden-hilted silver broadsword for close-range. The broadsword in question is one she forged herself (with help), and-like everything else-is angelically styled, with the hilt having two winglets as the hand guards.
Eliana also carries small flash-bang grenades, which are useful for distraction and scare-tactics. Skillset: Her main areas of skill lie in flight, specifically with her wings and due to studying the wildlife of Quatros and other places, (via holo-screen for other places, Quatros directly) and swordplay, as she's no novice with her broadsword. She's even combined the two to create devastating, but exhausting, techniques for the unprepared villain. However, she lacks in anything pertaining to water, as she's not used to how it slows her and distributes her weight, and ranged combat. The only weapon she has that could be called anything near to ranged are the flash-bangs, and those deal no damage. Thus, she's prone to blitzing her way into the close-range area of a battle so that she can be effective. Defense isn't the best either, because a sword really isn't all that great for blocking blows unless you see them coming and can counter in time.

Other: She flies like a birdy :D

Name: Hackr3ss (Formerly Call-Bot A-94, 'Alice'; pronounced 'Hak-Rehss)

Gender: Female

Appearance: Tall and thin, with built-in 'high-heels' and defined feminine aspects. (Flared hips, narrow waist, etc.) Her eyes glow various colors depending on her mood and intentions, with Hackr3ss being able to change them with a bit of focus. The default however is a burnt orange, which goes along with the energized equipment she uses of the same color. Her armor is light and thin, a sleek dark green metal more just there for show than anything else. Long braids of 'hair' drape down from her head, looking to be for show but actually are hard-tipped and will hurt if she whips her head or entire body around to send the braids into a person's face. While her right hand follows the same guidelines as the rest of her body, the left hand is a glowing, almost skeletal construct with exposed wires, hinges, pistons and other inner workings visible. The glow itself is like her eyes, changing color along with the visual receptors to match mood or intentions. The ends of the fingers on her left hand are simply black, hardened talons, looking powerful enough to rip through even a Hero like Bulk's armor and razor-sharp as well. Often, Hackr3ss wears a fingerless black leather glove on this hand to cover the workings and create an eerie glowing from the seams and gaps, adding to the atmosphere of mystery, foreboding, and strangeness that she likes to linger 'round herself.

Personality: Manipulative, scheming, and power hungry, in a few words. For her it's less about destroying Heroes or attaining wealth, and more about simply being in charge. She lusts to be the hidden factor behind the scenes of everything that she can, to eventually be the one pulling the strings and watching as the galaxy bends to her will.
Her main fault lies in how much she thinks she can do: While she knows her physical limitations, Hackr3ss has a hard time accepting her mental ones, sometimes resulting in overconfidence. She also suffers from hubris, thinking if she ran everything it'd be much better.

Background: Way back when Von Nebula was still active, Hackr3ss had just been an average Call answerer in Mekron City. That changed one day after she was captured by Meltdown while walking, who took her to his temporary laboratory and tested a prototype of the nanobot infection on her, which instead of placing her under Meltdown's control or inducing extreme anger, began corrupting her processor which eventually led to her fall into villainy.
Fast forward into present day, and Hackr3ss has collected a very loyal gang, using both her charms and abilities to keep them in-line. She's based in Mekron currently, but has members under her employment in New Stellac City, Makuhero City, that criminal world where Core Hunter hid a piece of the Doom Box, and many others. One of her closest members is Tinker, who's inventions have provided her a large source of income to fuel the gang's activities.
Equipment: Her main piece of equipment is her left hand, which has a number of things built directly into it. First being the talons, which have a mind-slowing agent that they can secrete to blur the mind of a being she's fighting, or to help along when 'negociating'. Next she has a number of small cables that can be shot out a short distance into a target to truly hack into their systems and do whatever she wishes, presuming she has a stronger will over the person.
Hackr3ss' other equipment is quite varied, ranging from the most recent one-shot laser pistol, designed to kill with one well-aimed hit and then become useless, (It doesn't work as well as planned yet, any reflective surface or heavy-duty armor can block it, and at most it'd blow a hole through your head or chest, not enough to kill unless it went right through the CPU or main power core.) and a few obsidian daggers that are more for show than anything else.

Skillset: Her main skills lie in the realm of the mind: she's very good at manipulation, deception, and acting, allowing her to gain an advantage over opponents that she's had time to study through going at their weaknesses. She's also skilled in literal hacking: Both of sentient beings and computers that have any sort of port to go off, or she can simply make her own. Negotiations, haggling and politics are also natural to Hackr3ss, she's able to see people's true intentions and appeal to that to get her way.
In contrast she's very weak physically, and has nearly no battle skills or instincts. There was a time she held her own against a mindless, solid block of steel of a cleaner bot, and she considers that her greatest physical feat to this day.
Nevermind that the cleaner bot moved about as fast as Bulk just waking from a deep hibernation phase. Other: She's got quite the gang of beings spread about and is very well hidden in Mekron. The Factory might have a lead or two, but nothing solid enough to go on.
Also, Hackr3ss herself only has a crime or two directly linked to her, the rest are just obscure possibilities that could have been done by her or other gangs. She's smart enough not to leave a calling-card symbol after a crime like some gangs.
Plots and Schemes: She's currently interested in gaining more power in Makuhero City, as well as the possibility of creating a stronghold on some desolate asteroid to spearhead her gang from. Immediate efforts include establishing a new illegal Oxidium market, along with getting some of the more undesirable materials for Tinker.

Name: Tinker

Gender: Male

Appearance: Tinker is small, but heavily armored and buff. Said armor is scratched, scuffed, singed, stained, re-shapen, and a whole bunch of other things that don't indicate perfect condition. This is actually a work-suit, as his built-in armor is much slimmer and a maroon color, while his 'lab coat' was formerly white. Harsh ice-blue eyes peer out from a stout face, often covered by goggles or a full welding mask. His hands are thin and long fingered, covered with heavy-duty gloves or sometimes special gloves that control a pair of arms that aren't his, and were formerly apart of one of his test subjects.

Personality: Cold and yet curious, willing to do anything to find out how something works and if it can be made into something useful, if not illegal. Cares more for unthinking creations of his than other beings, and makes his weapons and other equipment for simply the thrill of making something that makes another thing explode/disappear/disintegrate/shatter/liquidize/implode/etc.

Background: Built as a mechanic-bot, a glitch in his programming let him ignore the rules in order to upgrade something to its maximum abilities without abruptly failing, and sometimes beyond that. His talent was soon recognized by the criminal world, who basically kidnapped him and let him, well, tinker with whatever they had lying around. The results were extraordinary, and with Tinker being so anti-social he soon became an asset instead of a member.
He eventually was absorbed into Hackr3ss' gang, and since then has been left alone to create, only being bothered or bothering to demonstrate a new weapon and send it for mass production if possible, or to have it sent off as a unique weapon to the highest bidder, and he's only bothered when a unique machine comes in for him to study or if materials he's requested have arrived.
Equipment: Tinker has an extensive collection of tools, many modified beyond safety regulations to do a more effective job. This could mean they're more or less effective against beings, but who knows. He's also got whatever the heck's lying 'round the lab, as well as a few of his personal favorite creations, most of which however lay within a case in his sleeping chambers, sealed off from the lab where he spends most of his time.

Skillset: Tinker excels at, well, tinkering. Left alone with enough time and parts, he'll go through a couple dozen different iterations of the same invention before deciding on a product, which then will either be added to a project, gain more parts, or even just be finished. He's also quite strong for his size, about as strong as your average Hero. His weaknesses come in many forms, one being his anti-socialness. He's got nearly no personality, and the amount of will he has is less than amazing. If threatened, he'd just back up and grab something more threatening, and hope the threat goes away. However, Tinker has nearly no combat experience, the only form of it being in his own creations during testing.

Other: His creations are always marked with a 'T', showing it's his product.
Plots and Schemes: He hopes to perhaps eventually recreate or improve on the Black Hole Staff, mainly to study its effects on beings, objects, and the universe in general.

Name: Hirion

Gender: The worm is has no gender, its host is male.
Appearance: Hirion is really two beings, a parasitic worm that burrows into its host's brain, absorbs their memories, and then takes complete control over the body and the host for the worm. The original mind is gone after the worm's burrowing. The worm is about fifteen centimeters long, and very armored. It has ridges in the armor every inch or so. It's head is somewhat wide, and has two small eyes and a small mouth. The worms coloring is black, with the eyes being sky blue. To take over a host, the worm sends two armored tendrils into the brain. These tendrils come from the sides of the worm.
Hirion (The name of the worm)'s current host resembles a dragon standing on two legs, with the remaining two legs as arms. The body is covered in a dark orange colored scale layer. The body has no wings or a tail.
Personality: Sadistically evil, malevolent, ruthless, brutal and insane. The worm is bent on becoming the lord of an entire planet, and will stop at nothing to do so.
Background: Hirion came from a distant planet very long ago, with him being one of many of his species. Then, one day, a craft landed on the planet, and Hirion left the body of his current host, who was an animal, and took control of the pilot of the craft.
He was filled with dreams of power, and ruthlessly bombed his entire planet, making him the last survivor of his race. He then jumped from host to host, becoming leader of a large criminal organization. But this was not quite the power he so longed for.
He ordered his forces to attack a planet, and the Heroes stopped him, removing him from his host and putting him in the OSVCF. The majority of his gang died in the conquering attempt, and those that lived are no longer loyal to Hirion.
He escaped during the Breakout caused by Voltix, and 'ran' immediately. He made it to a science lab, and then burrowed into his current host, taking over their body. He then stole an experimental suit of armor and gun, and fled.
Equipment: Hirion wears a simple armor over his body that has a very special ability. The armor is large, somewhat bulky, but with a plain design with technologically themed stripes. The armor is black, the stripes light blue. It was an experimental design, and has limited control over the forces of gravity and magnetism, though this control is very limited and requires a large recharge time, which it gets by absorbing the gravity from the surrounding area. Hirion also has a minigun-esque device that fires lasers that can pierce nearly anything.
Skillset: The Hirion worm has a near eidetic memory, being able to remember all of his previous hosts memories, which are quite large in number, thanks to the wide variety of hosts Hirion has had. The host is very strong, with a huge level of endurance.
Plots and Schemes: Hirion plans to find an army, and take over a civilized planet. He is desperate to rule, and knows that, once he becomes a ruler, he will be kind and fair to his loyal citizens. (Keyword: Loyal.) He doesn't know how he will conquer or what planet he will take over yet.
Name: Alexander Gray
Gender: Male
Appearance: Gray is a big, buff Hero with a color scheme of gunmetal. His body shape has the X design of the Knight heroes from the Brain Attack wave. His helmet has a triangular design around Black's mouth, (Think: Like you would see on an armored Optimus Prime.) and he has a large visor over his right eye. The back is shaped like Rocka's breakout helmet form. His core and eyes are a dark green. Around his legs are two rocket engines.
Personality: Gruff, professional, very aloof and cold. He focuses on getting the job done, and has little care for friends or companions. He is very devoted to his missions and getting the job done. He dislikes rookie Heroes. He has two people he cares about: His best friend Ben, and his sister Meredith.
Background: Alexander was made a very long time ago, and is currently one of the oldest Heroes around. He used to be one of the most friendly of the Heroes, but then one mission changed that forever.
He was fighting with his friends, and took a quick second to chat with one of them. In that second, the villain was able to fire a laser that killed all of the team except for Gray and one other, named Ben Grimpen.
Alex thought that he could have prevented the deaths if he had focused on the mission and didn't stop to chat. Grimpen is his only friend as of right now. He is sort of legend among the Heroes for his devotion and his good track record.
Recently, he had his personalty duplicated and slightly altered. The reasoning for this was because Gray was supposed to have a very sociable personality and be a great agent, but this failed quickly. The result was his little sister, Meredith.
Equipment: Alex has two rocket boosters attached to his legs that allow him to fly. In addition to that, he has several weapons. The first is an energy sword that activates and can cleave through many substances. He also has an energy shield. The next is a small cannon attached to his arm that fires knock out blasts. Next, he has an energy net launcher attached to his shoulder.
Skillset: Very good aim, stealth. He is very good at Parkour, and can preform great jumps and spins. Very trained in swordplay, good shot with knockout cannon and energy net.
Name: Meredith Gray
Gender: Female
Appearance: Very similar to her brother, but with a lighter shade of gray. She is in a body typical of Breakout Heroes. Her helmet lacks a visor and the triangular design can retract, which Meredith has it do most of the time. She is a lighter gray, and her core and eyes are light purple.
Personality: Peppy, optimistic. She is very friendly and sociable, and always reaches out to people. She put friends over the mission the majority of the time, quite unlike her brother's attitude. She cares deeply about him.
Background: Meredith was made because her brother, Alex, had been deemed a failure at his attempted long-term mission, which was to have a large network of allies. The technicians thought that making her female would help this.
Meredith has only been around for about three months, and is just starting to learn the ropes. She is rather unskilled, but always tries her best.
Equpiment: Like her brother, she has rocket boosters attached to her legs to allow for flight. She has an energy spear and sword, similar to the ones that her brother carries around. She doesn't have any other weapons, howevr.
Skillset: Fast, quiet, very good at parkour like her brother. Very trained with her spear and shield.

Name: Justin BoostGender: MaleAppearance: His helmet is a sleek and round in the front, with 'spines' of a sort extending from the back. His body, helmet, and hands are all blue, while his limbs are white and his feet are red. The thing that stands out about Justin's appearance is the presence of a rocket booster on his back. His Hero Core and eyes are a shade of olive greenPersonality: Justin is laid back and cocky, and likes to make sarcastic jokes. Despite this, he has a strong sense of justice like many other heroes, and cares about the well being of his teammates. He is very reckless, charging forward instead of thinking things through. Background: Justin is an experimental model who is able to reach speeds near the speed of sound with his rocket booster, though he is still able to run at 100 miles an hour without his rocket booster. Constructed around the time the Breakout started, he assisted in it with a team, going after less potent villains. Now he waits for a chance to prove his skills ina more challenging mission.Equipment: As mentioned before, he possesses a rocket booster on his back to augment his speed. Besides that, the only other piece of equipment he carries are two removable blades attached to the underside of his arms.Skillset: Justin possesses decent close combat skills, but his most devastating ability is how he can manipulate his speed and momentum to turn himself into a powerful projectile or quickly get around his opponent to strike their weak spots quickly before they can react. He is also able to drift around tight corners and keep going. However, he doesn't really have good means of defense, has no ranged capabilities.Other: He's based off Sonic the Hedgehog. =P

Name: Warren Kokiri Gender: Male Appearance: His helmet looks like a cross between the standard 2.0 helmet and Berix's/Ackar's helmet. His helmet, body, hands and feet are forest green, while his limbs are wood brown. His eyes and Hero Core are lime green. He possesses 2.0 armor. Personality: Warren is very silent, almost mute at times, speaking only in short phrases when he needs to. On the other hand, he is very vocal in battle, with his cries being unnecessarily loud. He is a loner, preferring to look out for himself, though true to his purpose as a hero, he has a passion for protecting others and stopping villains. Background: Warren was created shortly after 2.0 models became standard. He was designed to be acrobatic and good at tactical fighting. Shortly after he was made, he captured a respectable amount of villains, both on his own and with a team. He is somewhat respected for his dedication to the job, and is also infamous as well for his shouting. Equipment: He carries a sword which can activate a laser aura around it, making it more powerful. The sword itself is capable of shooting laser blasts when the aura is activated. He carries a shield made of a special alloy which can resist various thing. The most stand out of his equipment is a visor which allows Warren to "lock-on" to one enemy at a time to track them while fighting. Skillset: As mentioned before, Warren is a highly acrobatic fighter, which he can use to dodge incoming attacks. He is also very good in swordplay. His sword strikes and such become much more accurate when locked on to a fighter. However, his regular defense is not the best, as such he relies on his shield. He is also not very fast normally, despite his acrobatic abilities. Other: This time, I based him off of Link from The Legend of Zelda. Just because. =P

Name: Schwarz Horizon

Gender: MaleAppearance: Schwarz is a thin, lightly armored Hero. His armor and inner frame are both a jet black. Red energies emanate from underneath his armor. His Hero Core and head are both red. Schwarz’s helmet is smooth and almost knight-like. The eye slits are thin and angular and his mouth is covered with a faceplate. He looks incomplete, however, as there are multiple ports on his armor and back...Personality: Due to his time in stasis, Schwarz is socially stunted. He’s extremely shy amongst his fellow Heroes and usually remains silent. Schwarz is cautious with his powers and seems afraid to actually use them for more than just defense. He almost seems to be a second coming of Von Nebula due to his elaborate combat strategies and penchant for silently scheming. Background: Schwarz was the result of a lengthy study on the Black Hole Orb Staff. The Research and Development Department retrieved the original blueprints for Von Ness and improved upon it with the 2.0 upgrade. The entire project was scrapped due to their inability to disassemble the staff without releasing Von Nebula.

Schwarz remained in stasis on the Offsite Storage Facility and has never been activated. Following the Breakout, Schwarz was moved to the Assembly Tower to be disassembled. However, the shards of the Black Hole Orb Staff were retrieved and installed into Schwarz. They deemed him as close to complete as possible and activated him shortly after Furno's team went missing.

Equipment: Upon awakening, Schwarz had no weapons. They gave him an upgraded version of a Meteor Blaster as most of the good weapons had already been assigned to new Heroes. The orb shards within him allowed him to create gravity wells and small black holes. The gravity wells aren’t nearly strong enough to immobilize enemies but he can use them to compress nearby matter into ammunition for his Meteor Blaster and curve projectiles. His black holes are small and are used defensively to absorb lasers. They evaporate fairly quickly.Skillset: Schwarz is an excellent strategist but his shyness prevents him from leading others effectively. His abilities from the orb shards are mainly used in a support role. Schwarz’s greatest flaws are his lack of close-quarters combat abilities, inferior arsenal and armor, and lack of mobility compared to other Heroes.

Other: I attempted to keep black holes realistic here. Thus, black holes don’t actually suck everything in and spell instant death (or form some ridiculous vortex with enough room for three inside). The relative smallness of the black holes also cause them to dissipate quickly and are stationary.

I am invoking my evil Game Master powers, and approve all the forth going profiles, with a cautionary note to Nebula 2.0: I'm not sure that there is a realistic black hole that's not overpowered. Those limits may help; I'm going to tentatively allow it until iBrow gets here and stomps it out. :P

Anyway...

Appearance: 5659975990_f7d76da762_n.jpg
(Can swap weapons/tools out as desired, but that's a general idea.)
Personality: Grim Snarky type. Hides inner misgivings under a facade of wit.
Background: Ethan was built as an experiment to see if a Hero could understand the ways of villains to eliminate villainy. As such, he has limited shadow powers, which allow him to see into the dark side of everyone. He doesn't like what he sees, and he wishes to be free of his skill, regarding it as a curse. He uses sarcasm to cope.
As a result of this, Ethan is prone to isolating himself, and wandering around the mechanical Hero Factory, he acquired a knack for designing weapons and robots. Once he invaded a desert planet full of hostile beings with a small army of robots. After being captured in the enemy fortress, he was able to improvise an explosive and escape, bringing the fight to the villain behind it all, successfully putting him behind bars. He refuses to take credit for his actions.
Ethan prefers working with mindless robots to beings with intelligence, since they have no inner darkness, so he doesn't like working with a team.
Equipment: Standard shield to block attacks, magnetic spear that can pull enemies toward him and serve as an anchor to pull him forward, let him down from tall buildings, etc. (He invented it himself.) Occasionally can carry a gun that shoots fire bolts, but often does without. The real force to be reckoned with are his robots.
Skillset: Ethan prefers to be far away from the battle where his enemies can't get to him, even though he can sense their shadow anyway. His robots are skilled in camouflaging to blend in and do recon, and they are skilled in flight and occasional melee combat. Ethan is very good at controlling them and coordinating their operations. As such, Ethan is very good at strategic planning.
Ask him to operate without a plan, or force his plans to work around other people's changing interests, and he quickly falls to pieces. Ethan is afraid that his dark power will overwhelm him, so he is very cautious and methodical in battle, on the rare occasion that a villain actually gets him to fight. On the plus side, his powers allow him to anticipate villain's moves, so he can afford to be meticulous.

Name: Connor TerrasGender: MaleAppearance: his helmet is non-existent, being the assassin he is, he doesn't need one. his armor is a dark green color, as dark as this color. his hero core is a lime color, like this. he's taller than most heroes, though by only about three inches or so. a note is that two small knives are hidden in his lower arm armor. his eyes are lime, like his hero core.

Personality: Connor's personality is silent and watchful. other people around him feel uncomfortable, fidgety, or paranoid. perhaps it is their instinct, as Connor is a dangerous enemy. Background: Connor was created to test stealth projects involving primitive means. "primitive" involves a certain type of cloak, dabbled green, brown, black, gray, and lime. along with his ability to move similar to shadows*, his amazing silent movement, and his head for heights, all that can be said is that if he's after you, you're as good as captured.Equipment: he's equiped with a simple longbow and the previously mentioned knives hidden in his lower-arm armor. the longbow has no advanced technology, except being made of a flexible metal instead of wood, allowing the draw weight to be much higher, and therefore arrows flying farther. the hidden knives are set on top of his wrists, so that a strong ###### movement downward will dislodge them. he then twists his hands around, and they pop into his grip. he also has a previously mentioned Cloak, which, in the right terrain, will make him seem to vanish into thin air. there is nothing special about the cape except it's coloring pattern, which is what allows him to blend in so well. his arrows are custom made as well, in a way he calls "Arrowing". no one but him knows how he makes his arrows, but they fly truerSkillset: he has a very particular set of skills. his archery is unrivaled by anyone in the Hero factory. his accuracy is uncanny, always right where he planned it. he can hit an eyehole fifty meters away. he is also skilled in hand to hand fighting, after doing this for years he can predict where an opponent will try to hit (I can sort of do this). however, if someone were to attack him, say, with a sword, he would be doomed. in fact, if his target has noticed that he is there and is actively trying to attack him, his best bet is to flee and stalk the target at a later time.Other: Connor is based off of the Rangers in the Rangers Apprentice series. if you've read those books, i'm pretty sure you realized I modeled him after Will Treaty :P

^They are approved by me.

OOC: Time to start the show, I think. Anyone who hasn't posted a profile yet, however, feel free to post one.

IC: Ethan sat alone in his room, news footage from the Breakout playing across a television screen, one of his machines massaging his shoulders. He wasn't feeling good - the shadow energies within him were acting up again.

"You are a hero." The AI reminded him. Ethan backhanded the drone. "Shut up."

"Sir, that is quite unnecessary. I was simply telling you what you told me to tell you when..."

"I know. Have you logged my responses each time, as I asked?"

"I have. They have fluctuated over time-"

"I need to program you to understand sarcasm."

"That is quite unnecessary, sir. May I remind you that you choose that form of communication, and can disregard it at any time."

Ethan got up, approaching a console across the room. "May I suggest a new course of action, sir? Perhaps that would improve your mood."

"I doubt it." Ethan sat down at the computer, logging in, and pulling up a text file. It read:

Notes on the Offsite Storage Facility Incident:

No communications

No people around

No revealed evidence on the first five floors

Jimi Stringer's Message:

Meteor Blasters

A giant axe

Something wall related

A hunter

Something Jimi hasn't seen before

An abyss

The message suggests that both Jimi's vision and his ability to communicate are impaired.

"That would be obvious, considering that Jimi was underground, and whatever we are facing knows how to knock out communications."

Ethan scowled. "I don't have enough information for a course of action. And this current situation is too...chaotic. But" he said, holding up a hand before the drone could respond, "we know where new information can be acquired." Ethan smiled, and then stood up from his desk, hooking a charging cable off another drone. "Donovan?"

"At your service, sir."

Ethan smiled, and strode out on the walkway leading to a training sphere. "Follow me."

OOC: Open for interaction.

question: are there missions other than those mentioned in the starting post?

Answer: No, although the Breakout Mission is somewhat flexible. For example, you can choose to hunt down any one of the escaped canon Breakout villains or any of the villain characters controlled by other players.

IC: Alexander Gray

Ben looked over at Alex. He said, "Look, you can't live your life in sadness and regret. You've got to-" Alex got up, and left his apartment. Ben started to run after him. When Alex was having one of his moods, no one could make him happy. Well, Meredith could, but she was busy right now.

The board said that there was an escaped criminal on the planet of Pixani IX. This portion of the planet the convict was on was nearly all pillars of rock rising from the ground. Even worse, they had very large drops and were spaced a good distance away from each other.

This mission would need people who could fly. Alex put his name down, and looked for people who could fly. He was thinking of two heroes. The bird winged Eilana Angelic and Justin Boost. They could both fly, like he could.

IC: Connor Terras. quatros

Connor sneaked, walked, climbed, and slid through the dense undergrowth. his target was a Villain that had caused several small explosions in the Factory. in this terrain, he was as good as captured. that is, if Connor could find him. his code name was C-4, and he was a dangerous enemy for a new hero. for Connor? a simple day in the field. he saw movement in the bushes below. perfect. he quietly unslung his bow, took aim, and fired. it flew through the air, caught on C-4's gauntlet, and tore it off. the villain looked around in surprise, particularly where he thought the arrow had come from. Connor remained absolutely still, and C-4's gaze passed over him. when he was looking away from him, he sleuthed to a higher vantage point, nearly above him. he loosed another arrow, and continued on. the Villain was getting increasingly nervous, not knowing where the arrows were coming from. "come along nicely, or the next arrow will be even closer" Connor spoke quietly, but it echoed, so it was clearly heard. C-4 showed no sign of complying. sighing, Connor nocked another arrow, but didn't draw back. he dropped down so that he was on the jungle floor. there was no sound as he landed, nothing giving his position away. drawing back, he fired an arrow a mere fraction of an inch of his ear. the villain then realized that Connor was on the floor, and so couldn't follow him. he made an escape, or so he thought. he had no idea of Connor's amazing ability, and within 500 feet had gotten ahead of him. he brought out his two knives, and stopped directly in front of C-4. he never had a chance. from C-4's prospective, a knife simply appeared at his throat. "stay still, or I bring the knife into your windpipe" Connor whispered. defeated, C-4 submitted to be Hero-cuffed.

Name: Ryan StrikerGender: MaleAppearance: With teal armour and gunmetal accents, Ryan Striker stands out amongst the other heroes of Hero Factory. His outward appearance is mostly indicative of the 2.0 hero series with the Breakout modifications, although with mata green spikes sticking out of his shoulders. His core and eyes both glow purple, and his helmet looks similar to Rocka's (although the scope is larger, much like the scope that Surge 2.0 had).Personality: As one of the newest rookies to come out of the Hero Factory, Strike is often rash, overconfident, and has an ego twice his size. He prefers to work alone, and if he is part of a team, he will do his best to take over as the leader. It's almost as if every single part of his personality core was engineered to grind at the patience of veterans like Preston Stormer. Background: Although his career has been short, Striker has many more captures on his resume than normal - this has been in part helped by the Breakout, which occurred only two weeks after he was assembled. He has climbed up the leaderboards in Hero Factory and is within the top 25 heroes for villain captures, and as such is infamous with both heroes and villains alike. Thanks to his attitude, villains have begun stopping at nothing to try and kill him, causing any mission including Striker to immediately be put into jeopardy. Equipment: Striker's armor is doubly resistant to fire than other heroes, as it was modified to chase down the villains Nitroblast and Drilldozer inside a volcano. The mission failed, but the upgrade has not yet been replaced. Striker also has a built-in jetpack that protrudes from his back when active, as well as a laser sniper blaster and an energy sword for up close combat. His other equipment varies from mission to mission, as with all other heroes. Skillset: Thanks to his armor upgrade, Striker can do very well in extreme heat - in contrast, if the temperature falls too low he struggles to remain active quickly. He is skilled with both his sniper blaster and his sword, and is an excellent flier. However, he has extreme difficulty adjusting to new weapons, and he still has trouble landing when flying. Thanks to his personality, Strike also tends to pick fights that he can't possibly win.

IC: Nathaniel Zibb, Hero Factory:

Nathaniel Zibb of mission control was rather skittish at the moment. It was bad enough with the Breakout having released every prisoner of Hero Factory (including villains such as Von Nebula and Witch Doctor, both of whom had yet to be re-captured). It was even worse when the incident occurred with the Offsite Storage Facility. Things had taken a deeper plunge when the villains Nitroblast and Drilldozer successfully defeated Ryan Striker's hero team and took control of the volcanic moon J-613. And now Tranquis VII was sending odd reports, too.

But now... now, Zibb was thinking that there must be some deity that just wanted to ruin his day. Because with all that other stuff going on, there was just no way he could possibly deal with the end of the universe. Just no way.

Unfortunately, there was a way - and it was happening, whether he liked it or not. Zibb sighed as the files on the villain Core Hunter finished uploading onto the data screens. Then, knowing there might not be much time, he activated the communication systems throughout the factory.

"Attention all heroes, this is a Code Alpha Red emergency. This is Nathaniel Zibb requesting all available heroes within the Hero Factory to respond. I repeat, this is a Code Alpha Red emergency. Please make your way to Meeting Room Q-4. This is a Code Alpha Red."

He deactivated the communication system and closed his eyes, wondering how things had gotten this bad. He was interrupted in his morose thoughts by the arrival of Mark Surge, the only member of the Alpha Team Zibb had seen for days. With Furno, Stringer and Bulk all missing, the remaining six members of Alpha Team had been stretched thin, and it was rare when any one of them had more than a day off before being sent to lead another mission.

"So, what is it this time, Zibb?" the blue hero asked.

"Just you wait, Surge." Zibb replied. "This news is plenty bad enough. I don't want to tell it twice."

IC: ??? - Quatros:

As Connor Terras escorted the villain C-4 through the forests of Quatros, the looming figure smiled and lowered his binoculars, satisfied. The hero had fallen right into his trap. In the blink of an eye, a telepathic signal had been sent to every beast within miles of the hero's location. Terras would be surrounded within minutes - far too short a time for the unsuspecting hero to reach his Hero Craft in time.

Certain that the beasts would at the very least keep the hero occupied, the figure dropped from his perch and summoned another, larger beast, to take him directly to the hero himself. It was time Hero Factory finally learned to respect him for what he was.

OOC: Just to be clear, Justin has 2.0 armor.

IC: Justin Boost

Justin heard the alarm and quickly made his way to the meeting room. Considering his speed, quickly was much faster than all of the other heroes. He made his way inside and leaned against the wall. "Code Alpha Red, huh?" he yawned. "This oughta be interesting. How much longer do we have to wait? If something exciting is going to happen then I'd like for it to happen already." he said with a smirk.

Haven't seen one of these in a long time...

IC: Connor Terras. Quatros.

as Connor tugged C-4 behind him, he heard a ruckus in the bushes around him. letting go of the Villain for a second, he undid his bow, strung an arrow, drew back, and aimed at the bush that seemed to cause the most noise. "step out where I can see you" he called out. what happened next was a blur of motion, and a Raw-Jaw charged out from the bush. surprised, Connor couldn't move for a second. then his reflexes snapped back and he ran. kicking off of a rock, he launched himself in the air. grabbing on to a vine, he realized that C-4 had been a trap.

IC: Call-answerer. Hero Factory

the robot programmed to answer calls sat quietly in his chair. then a panicked voice called for help. "Connor Terras, at quatros. send help, now!". the Call-bot activated a signal for a hero to be dispatched to Quatros.

OOC: anyone mind helping Connor out a bit?

IC: Ethan scowled. There had been far too many disturbances in the last few days - he could feel the darkness swirling around like a current. His skill kept sending crazy, mixed signals, when normally it was easy to focus on and control.

"Donovan, go investigate that Code Alpha Red. I'm pretty sure it's nothing important." The drone morphed into flight mode, a small sphere shape, and headed off to figure out the details of the emergency.

He opened his headset. In addition, there was trouble on Quatros. Ah, the friendly and cuddly wildlife planet. Shooting his magnetic spear at the ceiling, he engaged in a highly illegal method of transport to the Hero Pod launching area, his drone friend under one arm. A hero was under attack by beasts. Bailing out that rookie should give me something to smile about.

* * *

A few minutes later, Ethan landed on the planet Quatros. Instantly, he sensed a stronger, malevolent force behind the beast attack. He ran until he saw Connor surrounded by beasts. That's no rookie. Next to him was a famous villain from the Breakout, C-4.

"Over here." Ethan said calmly, causing half the beasts to turn and face him. Then he ran, leading the group back into the jungle.

IC: Connor Terras. Quatros

Connor swung and ran through the jungle. about half of the animals had started running in the opposite direction, but why? he had no idea. what he did know is that he had to get away from these beasts. snagging a chance to stop and "vanish", per se, he took a few shots. he was aiming to kill. he would worry about morals later. One, two, three, four FFFLINGs passed into the fray. four beasts dropped dead. but there were still plenty more. he had to get off of the planet. but he had an advantage here. he was out of sight of the mob, so he should try to hold onto that advantage. and they were mere beasts. they couldn't really form good plans. sneaking around the group, he fired off shots into it, confusing them further. he was about to snap off his 15th shot, then a giant Wasp knocked him off of his perch. his arrow flew harmlessly into a tree. Terras was in a much worse position. he was cornered. animals all around him. then they stopped advancing. they started parting, as if to reveal a being behind them. essentially, Terras "NOPE" 'd, and fled, running over the animals, using them as rocks.

IC: The world around the jet-black hero fell apart and darkness surrounded him. A grid-like pattern soon lit up around him as he looked down to his feet. The criminal under him had exploded into bits of data once he was cuffed. Schwarz could barely make out Zibb's announcement from inside the Training Sphere.

Schwarz exited the Training Sphere and began to make his way towards Meeting Room Q-4. He barely got any practice in following his activation and was still adjusting to Hero Factory's complex layout.

IC: Ethan fired Shadow blasts, causing the beasts to blindly stumble into trees and others of their own kind. He used his magnetic spear to hit a couple more and crash them into each other. They would be hurt, but live to be nuisances another day.

He ran past the stunned beasts to where he had seen Connor, but he wasn't there. His shadow sense told him that there was an enemy in a certain direction, and next to him a being with a low amount of inner darkness.

Ethan ran that way.

IC: Eliana (Outside the Factory, later Room Q-4)

Eliana Angelic, the winged Hero, gazed up at the sky, watching the clouds go by and some little birds flutter about, just letting the world pass her by for the moment.

Times to relax were rare being a Hero, you were almost always off capturing a villain, doing public service, recharging your Core, or any number of other things.

She was shaken out of her relaxation by a message from Zibb sent to all the nearby Heroes, and she responded as well, jumping down from the tiny ledge she had been sitting on and unfurling her wings to land, than dashing inside.

~Meeting Room Q-4~

Eliana enters the room, nodding to the other Heroes standing in various positions 'round the room. She took up a place near the wall as her wings fell into a sort-of-a cloak shape around her, and waits.

He never gained the Ordeal of Fire upgrade, since he really never liked it and just stuck with his original armor. One thing that you will know is that he does things by the book. Background: A.R.R.O.N was created back when Von Nebula's men wrecked havoc on the galaxy. He was created for on sole purpose: Recon. IC: Alexander Gray

The Hero walked into the Meeting Room, and saw one of the people he had meant to team with to apprehend the villain Pixani IX. This was the one name Justin Boost. The hardened Hero strode over to him, and began talking to him.

"Hello. My name is Alexander Gray. You've probably heard of me. I need to apprehend a flying villain, and I need all Heroes that can fly. Are you up for it?"

Justin looked up at Alexander, saying "I think I've heard your name mentioned somewhere. You a veteran? Eh, whatever. And I'm up for any challenge, but I can't fly per se. My specialty is speed. That's what the rocket on my back is for. However, if I was running fast enough, I could get some serious air, and maybe after jumping and running on some buildings, I could take out air villains that way. But then the problem would be getting down without turning into a hero pancake. Maybe you or somebody else could handle it?"

"Small boosters on my side? That sounds pretty good. I mean, they'd also make me go faster on the ground too. Alright then gramps, what's the mission? Whether I'm on the air or the ground, any criminal won't be able to escape from my blazing speed!" he declared confidently.

"Never. Call. Me. Gramps. The mission is to apprehend a villain with bat like wings hiding on a planet. The section of the planet he is on is solely comprised of pillars rising from the ground, spaced a good deal away from each other. Therefore, a team with the ability to fly is recommended."

Alexander was touchy about his age. Sure, he was one of the single oldest Heroes, but calling him Gramps was uncalled for.

IC: Connor Terras. Quatros.

even while being chased, Connor traveled slowly. it just didn't make sense to trade speed for a possible advantage. he knew his ship was near, and he was heading towards it. he figured that a hero had come to his rescue. once he was back in his ship, he would track him and bring him aboard. all thoughts of capturing C-4 were gone. now it was "get off the planet" that dominated his thinking. he could see his ship now. it was a modified Dropship, outfitted with custom missiles and lasers. as soon as he got aboard, he started the radar to track the other Hero.

IC: ??? - Quatros:

As Connor Terras approached his Drop Ship, four Scorpio creatures burst out of the undergrowth, converging on the hero. Had they been trying to kill him, Terras would have been killed immediately - however, as it so happened, all the figure in the shadows needed was a bit of time. While the hero was occupied, the figure entered the Drop Ship from the other side and readied his staff for the confrontation about to occur.

IC: Nathaniel Zibb - Meeting Room Q-4:

"Heroes, I need you all to listen to me!!" Zib announced, shooting a glance over to Justin Boost and Alexander Gray. "This is not a meeting to discuss side missions you might be planning - this is a meeting for a Code Alpha Red. Might I remind you all that a Code Alpha Red is the worst code we can assign to a mission? Even the Breakout was not assigned this."

Zibb stared at the heroes in the room, daring them to argue. When none did, he sighed and continued on.

"The hero A.R.R.O.N. has been conducting a reconnaissance mission on the escapee known as Core Hunter," Zibb began, "and what he has discovered is... disturbing, to say the least.

"Core Hunter, as you all know, was once one of our own before he deserted and turned to a life of crime. Before he was first captured by Hero Factory, the heroes Preston Stormer, Dunkan Bulk, and Jimi Stringer all faced off against him at different times. Thanks to A.R.R.O.N., we now have reason to believe that each of these encounters followed the placement of pieces to some sort of "box" that Core Hunter had acquired, but never had the opportunity to assemble."

Zibb waved his hand and the information they had logged about Core Hunter blazed onto the walls of the meeting room for all the heroes to see.

"Nobody could possibly find all of these pieces except for Core Hunter himself." Zibb announced. "And A.R.R.O.N. reports that Core Hunter has one of them already back in his possession. I did some research, and if I am correct, the pieces Core Hunter hopes to assemble belong to an object known as 'The Doom Box'."

Zibb nodded to one of the walls, where a large diagram of the Doom Box and its capabilities flashed onscreen.

"If the pieces of the Doom Box are assembled, the box will begin to expand," Zibb explained, "and it will absorb anything and everything that is in its path. Anything it does absorb will be destroyed."

"When would it stop?" the question came from Mark Surge.

"It won't." Zibb replied. "If Core Hunter assembles the pieces, the universe will be destroyed. That's why we need you. We can't spare many - the most I can send on this mission is four. Surge, you're one of them - I'm assigning you the task of leading this mission."

Surge gave a small nod, looking nervous - Zibb had never put him fully in charge of a team before.

"That means I need three volunteers from the rest of you." Zibb said. "Are there any takers, or will I pick and choose?"
