For your character to be a Guard officer in the first place, you need to have the approval of the relevant Akiri player. You'd be ostracized, probably persecuted, and completely mistrustful, but it isn't a crime. The instant you stepped out of line, though, you'd find yourself in a world of hurt. And you probably would be encouraged to get out of the village the instant someone found out.
