The Rpg Critics Club

Having gotten approval from Black Six, I am currently working on the starting post. If you wish to become a critic, PM me. And yes, critics are needed pretty badly right now. :P

The Zar And The Contests

Posted by Zarayna , in RPGs Mar 15 2012 · 88 views

Another RPG contest, and I enter again. From the time I started RPing, I have only missed entering two contests.

In past contests, I entered such RPGs as A Universe Divided, which to my astonishment made it to the finals (it stinks, just ftr). Then I flipflopped between a BZP themed RPG and a HF crossover, and ended up submitting a revised AUD. I didn't win, thankfully, as I had no skill at GMing and no idea where the plot would go. The next contest, I entered SPIRIT's Warzone, and it won. This was my first experience GMing, and I have no wish to repeat it. I disliked the setup of the RPG, which gave the staff next to no power. i was also not a good Gm, and still a bit of a noob. I cancelled WZ midway through the season, and breathed a deep sigh of relief. I moderated for GoMN, but that was my only experience on BZP Game mastering.

When BZP went down, I did some RPing on other sites, and was Gm of a couple of RPGs.

The most interesting thing is: all my RPGs I ever made, I didn't really like. This changes in this RPG contest. inspired by such RPGs as City of Fear, GoMN, and A Midnight's Requiem, I composed over the space of the downtime my own RPg concept. it is now entry twelve in this contest. The name incidentally is derived from a green day song. :P

If you're interested in a post cataclysm Metru Nui, populated by refugees from all over the world. I strayed from the canon by having Stlet flee to Metru Nui, as well as three Xian guilds, but it makes for good faction diversity.

Not only that, but the Brotherhood faction which is invading has a small Visorak horde, which makes for a Visorak/hordika theme, one that I haven't seen in any RPG here in my stay, that I recall.

So yes, of all my RPGs, this is the only one that I actually (really) want to play.

Rpg Critics Club?

This idea has been fluttering through my mind for a while, helped definitely by the little feedback I get in the RPG planning topic. Let's face it, reviews in the planning topic are sparse, and reviewers are few. The contest entries get better reviews, but even then, you don't get many.

Who is for this?

Just need to compose profiles, and my RPg will be ready!

War Zone

Anyone remember that RPG? Well brace yourselves...

It's returning.

Or at lerast, a greatly edited form with a totally new plot and setup. :P

Did you see them going off to fight?
Children of the barricade that didn't last the night.
They were schoolboys, never held a gun,
Fighting for a new world that would rise up like the sun.
Where's that new world now the fighting's done?

If there was a slap for every reference you didn't get, Zar, you would be like a walking bruise.
