The Bourne Legacy

Not sure how I feel about this movie.

On one hand, I loved the original Matt Damon trilogy (Identity and Ultimatum are probably my two favorite movies of all time). So I'm happy we're getting more out of this series. And I'm not a huuuuge fan of Jeremy Renner, but he's at least somewhat competent as an actor.

On the other hand, they've lost both Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon for this, and going off of the trailer I have no idea how this will fit into the continuity of the other movies. They were so realisitic, whereas this looks more like a generic action movie.

I'll find out in a few weeks, I guess. But I'm a bit worried >>

What exactly is the deal with this movie? Is it a reboot, or some sort of a weird semi-sequel? I still can't quite puzzle this one out.

It's a side story. Damon didn't want to do any more unless the original director (Greengrass) was on board, and Greengrass just doesn't want to do any more period (IIRC). So this one's mostly unrelated to Jason Bourne, and is focusing on a different Treadstone operative. How they're going to tie this in to the Jason Bourne storyline, I'm not sure.

Treadstone, the operation, had dozens of volunteers(Maybe less).

Either way, there are multiple people that have the "Bourne" moves and abilities.

This movie does not tie into Jason's, it's a story by itself. Jason does make a cameo(via a News Broadcast that shows his picture), but other than that, Jason is not in the movie.

Isn't this based on another novel from the Bourne series? So if you really want to know how it ties in, couldn't you just read the book?
