People need to stop telling me it's good so I can keep insiting it's a horrible design for a desktop since we're all just going to go to the classic desktop and skip Metro anyways. >_<

I don't know, why can't you? I'm sure I've done that before...

Whenever I try changing it it just says that I can't use a Hotmail account, and I don't know why.

I have heard literally nothing positive about Windows 8 from sources outside Microsoft, so feel free.

I don't know where you get your news, because most tech sites like it. I myself like it quite a lot. Definitely a nice upgrade from 7. I have literally nothing bad to say about it.

But it just seems too different to me... Like I still believe it's perfect for a touch pad interface. But on a desktop or laptop where you can't do that? It just seems like it'd so incredibly awkward and irritating to use. Please, explain to me how that's not the case. Nobody I know using it has done that; they've simply tried to tell me it's not bad and left it at that.

I don't have -trouble- using the Metro interface without a touch screen. It really isn't cumbersome at all. That said, at this point I typically prefer using the regular desktop (which still has some improvements - everything runs better and the file explorer has a ribbon like Office has had for a while that comes in handy). I mostly just prefer it because the Metro Internet Explorer has a cap on tabs, at like 8 or 10, and I usually have tons of tabs open. I actually really like the Metro IE10 otherwise.
