Braves Vs. Giants Preview
Both of these teams are lucky to be here. The Giants beat Mat Latos and the Padres on the last day of the season, eliminating the Padres and winning the West for San Francisco, as well as the Wild Card for the Atlanta Braves. Now the two will face off at AT&T Park for what will probably be the right to face the Phillies and Roy Halladay, the man who no-hit the Cincinnati Reds yesterday. So it looks bleak even for the team that wins this series, but even the mightiest of teams can be taken down by another one that happens to get hot at the right time.
Anyhow, the pitchers who will be tossing for the game 1 win are Derek Lowe for the Braves, and two-time Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum for the Giants. Obviously, the advantage goes to the Giants, who will be at home with their ace, but the Braves still have a good shot, as Lincecum has not been as dominant in 2010 as in past years, and because the Giants have a relatively weak offense once you get past Buster Posey. In addition, the Braves have a more reliable lineup, even without Martin Prado, as they have the advantages of Jason Heyward, Derrek Lee, Omar Infante, and Ted Williams All-Star Game MVP Award winner Brian McCann, the Braves have what it takes to take down the 2010 edition of Tim Lincecum.
Plus, I'm rooting for Bobby Cox and his Braves to win one more World Series for him.
