[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:08:33 AM] dralexhumva: How about we say Matt was experimenting with his power, accidently ripping a hole in reality and getting sucked into the reality where the Master and the rest of the Beings were hiding?
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:10:19 AM] halfdragonhero:
That could happen.
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:10:25 AM] halfdragonhero:
Hang on, I'll write down the set-up.
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:09:08 AM] dralexhumva: I'll be waiting.
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:11:55 AM] halfdragonhero:
IC: It had taken way too long. Darned distractions. Also, people couldn't know he still had his powers, so all that crystal mesh was hard to come by. But finally Matt had finished it: A portal based on the knowledge in Kro'oon's mask. Granted he didn't know where it would lead or how to program it, which the Being had always let the more scientific of his race handle, but it was still pretty cool.
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:12:52 AM] halfdragonhero:
The power source was also a bit troublesome, as the proper crystals were few and far between in this world, but he'd rigged something based on the geothermal energy at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Hopefully no one would notice.
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:13:20 AM] halfdragonhero:
Now all that was left was to create a tiny rip inside the quartz circle and see what happened.
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:12:16 AM] dralexhumva: OOC: On an inside note, type "end" when you get done with the whole IC.
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:15:07 AM] halfdragonhero:
(OOC: 'Kay)Focusing his mind and his powers on the point in space at the very center of the machine the Ultrakinetic began pushing and pulling at the very fabric of the universe, twisting the laws of physics that governed kinetic energy until the strain became too great and what appeared to be a silvery-white crack appeared in the air.
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:15:54 AM] halfdragonhero:
Lowering his goggles, which he wore mostly because they made him look all sciency, Matt pressed the big, red, shiny button that activated the machine. *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:15:54 AM] dralexhumva: IC (Master) What Matt Benton found on the other side of the ring that obviously ripped off of Stargate, was a huge forest. Even as the man stepped through and found himself in the other reality, a tell-tell shadow fell over him. A thirty foot long shadow.
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:16:42 AM] dralexhumva: "Benton." The ultrakinetic knew that voice, unless he got hit too many times on the head. "Obviously, fate is serving me today." *END*
Sat Dec 19 2009 11:19:57 AM] halfdragonhero:
IC: Matt turned around and plastered on an expression as if he and the Being who probably wanted nothing more in the multiverse than to see his head on a Qartz platter were in fact best friends who hadn't seen each other in a while. "Hey, dude-whose-name-I-never-learned!" He exclaimed jovially, turning around. "It- Whoa. Er, you been through a war, or just getting a bit overzealous on the training bit?" *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:20:56 AM] dralexhumva: IC (Master) "You... Little... Imbeiciel. You doomed my race to a slow death, let my enemies through the walls of reality, and even made my home implode! Now, stand still well I make a lot of people here happy." For the first time, Matt realized there was a whole crowd of Beings. Millions, maybe. He'd have to fight his way out, unless he teleported. "Oh, and I think you'd be interested to know there's no such thing as kinetic energy here. It'
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:21:06 AM] dralexhumva: s a different form of energy here." *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:24:41 AM] halfdragonhero:
IC: "That... is equal parts fascinating and disturbing, but whatever." The Outbreaker glanced around at the gathered Beings, none of whom looked happy. "Look, I really don't know what you're talking about. Yeah, I beat down one of your thugs - who tried to kill me, by the way - and broke your portal toy, but are we really gonna let that get between us?" Matt could be a ballsy man when he wanted to be. Which was pretty much always.
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:25:29 AM] halfdragonhero:
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:25:11 AM] dralexhumva: IC (Master) "You doomed my race. All of our strength came from that reality gate! If it weren't for you, we might still be one of the greatest races in the multiverse!"
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:25:41 AM] dralexhumva: The gathered Beings watched silently, waiting for the blood that was sure to spill. *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:29:10 AM] halfdragonhero:
IC: One of the many, many remarkable things about Matt was that he was an amazing showman. He could draw attention to what he was saying so completely that even the millions of gathered Beings didn't notice his quarterstaff had appeared in his hand. It was mostly just in case, anyway. "Well how was I supposed to know that?" He asked innocently. "I just knew you were, y'know, kinda trying to use and/or destroy my entire world, and knocking you down a peg or two seemed like a good idea at the time.
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:30:20 AM] halfdragonhero:
"I don't see why you're all blaming me that you made so many enemies. Yeah, I admit, I messed with something I didn't entirely know everything about, but we were among your enemies. I had every reason not to want you coming back."
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:31:03 AM] halfdragonhero:
"Besides, the look on your face when you found the portal room in ruins was... probably worth it. Just wish you'd taken off that mask while it happened." *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:31:40 AM] dralexhumva: IC (Master) Behind that mask of his, the Master's face was growing a yellowish color, the color of his blood. Of course, the blood flushing to the thing's face was for a very different purpose than what happened in human. Before Matt could so much as blink, he found a yellowish substance dripping down his face, about dead on with his eye. *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:31:53 AM] dralexhumva: OOC: Incase you didn't get it, MotB just spit on Matt.
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:35:56 AM] halfdragonhero:
IC: A look of utmost surprise and disgust formed on Matt's face and he began to gag. After he straightened up and wiped the gunk off the Ultrakinetic stared up at the self-proclaimed Master. "Dude," he said indignantly, "that was disgusting! Eugh- Do you not have even the slightest grasp of social graces?" *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:35:49 AM] dralexhumva: IC (Master) "Social graces? That was some stupid little thing Sum added to your realities. We have no such thing." *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:40:25 AM] halfdragonhero:
IC: Matt burped, loudly and obnoxiously, just to see if it got a reaction. Nothing happened. "Huh. Wierd. I thought it just sorta evolved in a society. Anythewho, what's been going on besides the whole war thing? Last time I saw you, as I recall, you were so deeply in denial that I could have possibly killed one of your types that you dropped a building on me when you really should know that dropping buildings on people doesn't work if they can do what I can." *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:40:48 AM] dralexhumva: IC (Master) "I came to grips that your race has grown so powerful, even humans can bring us down. Thus is why when our numbers are larger, we're begin going across the multiverse, purging ever last one of the human realities." *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:44:10 AM] halfdragonhero:
IC: "...Because one of you was dumb enough to fall for, like, the oldest trick in the book? Seriously, he just let himself get taunted and charged right into the portally, silvery, energy stuff. Like taunting was a new and innovative tactic. I kinda wish I could get a do-over, for my first Being take-out it was pretty sub-par." *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:44:50 AM] dralexhumva: IC (Master) "I will not talk with you anymore. Just stand still and DIE." The Master brought his abilities to full force, the plant life all around suddenly springing to life. And they were hungry for Outbreaker blood. The Master knew Matt was at a natural disadvantage; with no natural kinetic energy, he would have to create it. But when he created it, it took strength out of him. He'd eventually tire out. *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:50:19 AM] halfdragonhero:
IC: Matt could do that. OR! He could dart forward, completely without power use, and dive behind his adversary's legs, letting the plants follow, then turn suddenly and leap aside, bring his staff down, turn again in mid-air and vault up about ten feet to the MotB's thigh, then leap away again before any reaction could even be considered (okay, maybe a BIT of power there) and propel himself up the next fifteen-or-so feet to his shoulder. All this in under a second, of course, because he was a very athletic man even without the use of his powers. Twenty years was a lot of time to work out.
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:51:43 AM] dralexhumva: IC (Master) "What in the name of the Crea-" The Master had no time to say anymore. The living plants hungerily followed Matt upwards, and soon, the huge Being was covered. Of course, even though the Being was falling, Matt was still on him. And with a bunch of hungry plants. *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:56:32 AM] halfdragonhero:
IC: NOW came the time to use his powers, at least somewhat. The plants that had wrapped around Matt's ankles were suddenly repulsed as the Ultrakinetic leapt off the massive Being's shoulder, curled himself into a ball and, when nearly at the ground, kicked off from his shin to propel himself forward, stealing the impact from the landing and rolling to a defensive crouch fifteen feet away from the collapsing Being's head.
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:56:35 AM] halfdragonhero:
[Sat Dec 19 2009 11:57:19 AM] dralexhumva: IC (Master) "Kill him!" By now, the Master didn't care whether or not he was the one that chopped off the ultrakinetic's head; he just wanted the head. And suddenly, Matt found himself being mobbed by over a million blood hungry Beings. *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:01:29 PM] halfdragonhero:
IC: -Man,- Matt thought irritably, pole vaulting onto the MotB's back and then leaping off to land on some other Being's head, -I didn't even get to proclaim my awesomeness.- He jumped again from there into one of the trees and began rapidly climbing, ever wary of this, too, coming to life, or any other Being powers. (OOC: Since Matt would by now know this, what kind of powers to Beings have? And would any of those powers have been imprinted on Kro'oon's mask?)
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:01:21 PM] dralexhumva: OOC: The Beings, while they largely rely on technology, have the limited ability to give life to unanimate objects and even dead objects. The Master just has a more advanced form of this.
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:01:48 PM] dralexhumva: Kro'oon had those powers, so Matt could control them. Possibly.
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:06:11 PM] halfdragonhero:
IC: When the tree predictably came to life Matt quickly whipped out the mask of Kro'oon, placing it over his face and willing the branches that attempted to wrap around him to instead place themselves so he could leap from one to another. Truth be told the Being he opposed was probably a lot better at this and would have won out if it hadn't been for the element of surprise, which allowed the Ultrakinetic to reach the top of the tree and promptly jump to another, nearby one.
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:06:16 PM] halfdragonhero:
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:06:06 PM] dralexhumva: IC (Master) By now, the entity was fuming. "Just kill him!" He yelled to the masses. "Kill Benton before he can escape to our reality gate!" *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:11:12 PM] halfdragonhero:
IC: "Yougotawhah?" Now this was interesting news. Granted, he had absolutely no idea how to steer one of those, but anywhere without poisonous atmosphere and possibly Zanafarian death weasels was preferable to here at the moment. Heck, he might even chance the atmosphere thing.
Matt leapt up once again, this time propelling himself high into the air (with his power reserves he could afford it), scanning the area for any signs of a large, metal structure. *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:11:29 PM] dralexhumva: IC (Beings) What Matt found was a huge building, thousands of cables going into it. Obviously, this was something that took a whole lot of energy. Now Matt just had to figure out whether it was a Being reality gateway or one of their super lasers that fired anyone who came close. *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:17:51 PM] halfdragonhero:
IC: Portal machine, or death laser. Portal machine. death laser. Portal, laser, portal, laser... Meh, worth a shot. It looked a bit like the one he'd trashed before, so unless the lasers also looked like portals it was probably the latter.
Unfortunately this was the point where a concerted effort brought a large part of the forest to life. Goody, goody. And this time he wouldn't be able to surprise it away. On an average day Matt had the power to zoom halfway across the world for lunch and not think twice about it, but bending the laws of physics to create a tear in reality took a lot out of a person. He was rationing his energy. So for now he would do the next best thing and drop down, kicking off from the branches faster than they could close around him to slow his fall, and immediately go after the group of Beings causing the trees to move. *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:19:37 PM] dralexhumva: IC (Beings) For a change, Matt was lucky. The Beings couldn't catch him, the plants had taken a liking to yellow blood, and the building wasn't a shoop da woop death laser. Inside the building, Matt found another Stargate rip off, and in front of it rested a panel filled with thousands of symbols, obviously representing the various realities. Now, the question was; which symbol did he press? *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:24:26 PM] halfdragonhero:
IC: Lacking a valid reason to push any of them in particular, Matt defaulted to this: "Eeeny, meeny, meiny- Oh, what the snagglebeast." Then he randomly pushed one that had a funny shape.
Matt was, by nature, an irreverant man, and his experience of 'higher entities' had only reinforced this, so what he did next didn't really count as a prayer because it wasn't directed at anyone in particular, save perhaps for himself. But under his breath he muttered, "Please let there not be Zanafarian death weasels on the other side of this." *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:24:32 PM] dralexhumva: IC (Sum) What Matt found on the otherside when he jumped through was, somewhat oddly, his own lab with Sum waiting. The Being looked Matt over, finally saying, "Do I even want to know?" *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:27:45 PM] halfdragonhero:
IC: "Probably not. But, eh, for the record: Thank you for social graces. I seriously could not stand the world if people could freely spit on one another."
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:27:50 PM] halfdragonhero:
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:27:45 PM] dralexhumva: IC (Sum) "I made social graces? Huh, Always though Add had done that. And before you ask what I know you're going ask; yes, a lot of mathmamatical terms were named after Beings." *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:30:27 PM] halfdragonhero:
IC: "I always wondered about that. If I ever find Algebra I'm gonna have to kick him. Oh, you may want to close that before one of them gets away from the bloodthirsty plants... They really should not have animated those." *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:30:18 PM] dralexhumva: IC (Sum) Matt's unusual luck couldn't last forever; a variant of the venus flytrap suddenly lunged through the portal, sticking itself on his head and beginning to diguest it. *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:33:53 PM] halfdragonhero:
IC: This time there was plenty of kinetic energy to go around, so Matt had no trouble forcing the mouth apart. Slightly more troublesome was molecularly recreating his hair, some of which had dissolved rather quickly. "Is that thing native to the Being dimension," he asked, "or did they go somewhere else when the big portal broke down?" He let the plant struggle for a while, then forced it back through the gate and stood on his guard in case something else came out. *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:34:19 PM] dralexhumva: IC (Sum) "Actually, they created that thing." Sum shut down the portal, sighing. "Well, that's enough excitement for today, I suppose. Then again, Beings don't sleep, so I have to find something to do for the next fourteen hours until humanity wakes up. What now?" *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:38:02 PM] halfdragonhero:
IC: "I've just learned that the Beings have a lot of enemies," Matt replied, dusting himself off. Miraculously, despite the fight on that Being world, his coat was almost completely spotless. "And that they're not happy. And that the Beings are even worse. Meaning this: If they ever start retaliating on humanity, or attacking the other races of the multiverse, there's someone, or even a lot of someones, out there who can stop them. I wanna know about those someones." *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:37:57 PM] dralexhumva: IC (Sum) "Sadly, a lot of the multiverse hates humanity. Humanity was suppose to be a race of stupid apes that never would become a threat. Now that humanity is advancing, even the worst of enemies to the Beings won't stop them from destroying them. It's just me and you that stands in the way of them." *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:40:31 PM] halfdragonhero:
IC: "Why? What'd humanity ever do to deserve-" He paused. "Okay, what'd they ever do to the people in the other universes to deserve that?" *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:42:24 PM] dralexhumva: IC (Sum) "When humanity devolpes interreality technology, they're be a threat to everyone. They're reach out and destroy, like they always have. Worse is the Outbreakers; humanity will eventually die out, but the combination of both ability and technology will prove fearsome. Just imagine what could happen if every Outbreaker had technology centuries ahead of this time in his or her hands. Nothing could stop them Thus is why a lot of the multiverse races are going to start attacking humanity. So I guess when we're bored out of our minds, we can go reality hopping and save the universe. Though, honestly, the whole 'save the universe' thing got old back in 29045723574.67434 AM3.
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:42:30 PM] dralexhumva: *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:48:23 PM] halfdragonhero:
IC: "I have no idea what you just said, but I'm fairly certain I wasn't around then. It's not that old for me yet. Here's how I see it: In about two hundred years Steven comes back. We beat him. What then? Do I just sit back and resign myself to life as a silent guardian of the human race? Not my style. Adventuring through the multiverse sounds like a lot more fun." *END* (OOC: Sorry that took a while, my parents showed up and wanted to talk about something.)
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:48:29 PM] dralexhumva: OOC: Fine by me. IC (Sum) "Very well. With that said and done, let's call it a day and go find one of those parties you like so much, hm? You probably need the rest."
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:53:40 PM] halfdragonhero:
IC: "Heh, you're talking to the one man in the universe who can make perpetual motion happen. But yeah, that was a lot to happen in two minutes. Let's grab some pizza."
As they left he considered aloud his theories on his own future in the multiverse. "Y'know, space is big. Infinite, even. That's big enough that anything, no matter how one-in-an-infinity the chance, is gonna happen at some point, in some place. And the multiverse is infinite universes, each one their own space. Infinity times infinity. Anything could happen, y'know? Sounds like a lot of fun just waiting to be had, to me." *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:55:53 PM] dralexhumva: IC (Sum) "Who knows? One day, we might find we all were really just figments of some kid's imagination. But this time, don't get the mexican pizza. It's waaaaay to spicy for my stomach to handle." *END*
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:56:00 PM] dralexhumva: OOC: Watcha say we call it quits for now?
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:57:47 PM] halfdragonhero:
Yeah, this is a good place for that.
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:57:54 PM] halfdragonhero:
We should make that into a story.
[Sat Dec 19 2009 12:56:28 PM] dralexhumva: I'm posting it in my blog.
And thus, Outbreak: Mobile truly begins.
