While You Were Gone

Welcome back to the forums, everyone! It sure has been a while.

Two weekends ago I went whitewater rafting on the Ocoee river in Ocoee Tennessee. This was my first time ever going rafting on rapids. I must say, it was quite the thrill. The scenery was absolutely stunning. The Ocoee river twists throughout gorgeous eastern Tennessee mountains. The mountain sides were sprinkled with orange and red trees. The water was crisp and cool. That weekend was on the cooler side; the highs for the day maybe reached the low 70s. The rapids were mostly class III and class IV but were actually quite tame to what I had imagined. Numerous eddies (a small pool in a body of water that flows in the opposite direction of the main body) allowed us to slow down our pace and catch our breath. Unfortunately, the day before I slipped on a rock in the river and tried to catch my fall with my left hand and ended up spraining my left wrist. This didn't impact my rafting experience because I was on the right side of the raft and was doing most of the rowing with my right hand. However, for the last two rapids, our raft instructor decide we were going to go down backwards. While it was fun, I fear it injured my wrist a little more. Thankfully my wrist has returned to its normal size.

I think I might do a few entries with the tag "While You Were Gone." I'm going to look back at a few of my favorite movies, books, and games that have come out since the forums have been down. Hopefully some of you will enjoy those entries.

So, what was your favorite activity that you did over the summer? It was a lengthy stretch of time, surely some of you have some neat stories.
