But wait, you captured the Deviljho? Is it weaker than the normal one or something? Because I have a friend who (aside from being probably the best hunter ever) Ranks up even faster than you, and he's still terrified of the Deviljho.

Yeah, I saw that you had gotten his LS and been using it. That's good. We should do some 5* quests soon, since those are much more challenging and fun, and I can help you get those quests done! Particularly, I need Stout Horn from 'Blos, so I can aid with that.

 

And DDude, it's not that Jho has less health overall, it's just that it goes a little faster because you don't have to take all of his health. It's still a tough mission, especially in the cramped quarters of the Flooded Forest's land areas. The Tundra Jho quest is the one I swear by -- the areas are best to fight him in, and there's the secret area for him to unlock when he's weak.

It's 45 or 46. Can't recall at the moment.

 

And as for the Lagi Armor, here's a tip for getting awaken more effectively: Use the Low Rank Lagiacrus chestplate, and everything else Lagiacrus+. The reason is twofold: The chestplate+ needs two Sapphires and two Plates. That's a lot of rare materials. However, that chestplate only gives +1 for Swimming, +1 for FreeElement, and +1 for Elemental. If you use the Low Rank chestplate, it has +1 Swimming, +3 Elemental. Thus, you still get Olympic Swimmer and Element Attack Up, and you save all four of those rare items. And to get Awaken, all you need is one Jewel somewhere on the armor (I think the necessary Jewel needs a Lagiacrus Horn+, but that's not that rare).

 

That's what I did with my Lagaicrus Gunner Armor (which has the skill points for Bonus Shot spread similarly), and it saved me a ton of time in grinding for mats.

Is the jewel 3 slots, or is there an upgraded jewel that's three slots?

To overforge the Lagaicrus Mail, you need Lagiacrus Hide+ and Bathycite Ore. Nothing too special.

 

As for the Jewel, there are two jewels with points for FreeElement. One is one slot and gives +1 (that's the one you want; the one needing Lagiacrus Horn+ I mentioned), and the other is three slots and gives +4. Obviously, the latter is excessive, and needs Alatreon parts anyway.

Ah; okay. I only remembered seeing the +4 one, but yeah; for what I need it for, it's extremely excessive.

 

What's the volcano hidden area like?

In appearance, it's a little hidden alcove above Area 8. In items, it's gold. A bug spot with lots of Hurcudrome, Thunderbug, and Rare Scarab, and a mining spot with Shining Charm, Carbalite Ore, Timeworn Charm, Firecell Stone, Hard Amor Sphere, and the coveted Ancientshard. Once you have enough Dragonbone Relic from the Tundra, go there every time you get Explorer.

It is indeed awesome! Although all of the Ancientshards I've gotten from there were garbage. Or maybe my Ancient GS or Lance came from there, dunno.

 

Ironically, I got two Aquamatic "Longshot" (ancient bowgun) from the Poached Wvyern Egg quest when I was looking for Ancient blades.

3. Got my first Lagi+ capture just now. And wouldn't you know it? First one gives me my first Horn+. =P

I want both Rust and Ancient Swords (I have the gems to fully finish them), but I can't find them either.

 

And yeah, the Longshot is great. Rapid fire Clust = ownage. Especially with Bonus Shot and the bowgun maxed out, like I have!

 

Also, that's good. Speaking of which, I think I'll be able to get online to play in the next ten minutes. After one more hunt, would you be willing to wait for me?
