Firefox 14

So, I've had Firefox 14 for a wile now. Still wrapping my head around why they updated the GUI again, but it doesn't really matter, since it's mostly what I do anyway, what with splitting the back/forward buttons, keeping Refresh and stop separate(Which is likely because I split them myself. =P), and other such things.

However... There's one odd thing I've noticed... There's a globe symbol next to the address bar, where the Favicon used to be located(Which are always on the tabs as well, so it's no real big deal)... However, it never seems to change, for me. 0_o

Does anyone happen to know what it's for?

The globe icons changes into a lock on websites using HTTPS. I still think the globe is somewhat useless, though. :/

EDIT: Apparently it's used so fraudulents websites can't fool people into thinking their site is safe by using the original favicons.

Also, the back and forward buttons haven't really changed for me...

Oh; so it does. Hmm, thought one site I use occasionally used HTTPS. Apparently not, for that one part. xD

/EDIT: Ooh, that makes sense. *Nods*

It's not the old circular design, for me... Maybe it's because I'm using XP for this laptop? Haven't upgraded on my main computer yet... But it's definitely different from Firefox 13's design... All of them do, in fact... Lemme check something quickly.

Hmm; odd... It's more like the old forms to me, with just typical left/right arrows, to me...

It's become like that on the other computer. Strange... Not sure if they are more circular either, but something about them does seem different.

The first one does look like Firefox 14 to me. Pay attention to the globe.

It looks similar to that on my old computer, but I'd have to check.

Do you use Windows or Mac?

As for deep-linking, just right-click on the image and select "Show image" when it appears on a grey backgrounf with its title. Although, linking to the gallery page isn't a bad idea, seeing how it's the site's own. ;)

Ah, you have a point there. Didn't notice that initially, though that makes sense.

Alright. It might be an XP thing, maybe... I'll have to check my new comp tomorrow, maybe.

Windows; there are no Macs in the house. =P

That's true. =P That's really convenient for that purpose, but I'll use the deeplinking when possible, just because I always do that. =)

/EDIT: I figured it out; it's because I customized the reload/stop buttons to not be assimilated into the address bar. The back/forward buttons in their default form are part of the address bar in 14. =)
