Blog Prehistory

Tuesday, October 30, 2007 Is it not remarkable what ancient men left behind on earth to teach us? This ancient pictograph was recently uncovered in the caves of Nottinghamshire, England. Researchers at Oxford University confirmed it to be a depiction of a primitive blog entry, much like the one seen here. But wait -- the enlightening parallels between ancient and modern humans do not stop there. Just as the simple painting above was signed "Gorak first hunt," so too did this blog entry

Why Doesn't The Server Love Me?

Monday, October 29, 2007 It is a harsh game you play, server of BZPower. Is it because I wronged you one day, refreshing the page though you could not provide? No need now to deny the existence of each other.

Manas: Least Owned Set?

Saturday, October 27, 2007 A Manas pair sits on the great Bionicle shelves in my basement. Just visiting the collection and admiring the Rahi this afternoon, I tried to reconnect the rubber bands that allow the set to function properly. One crusty old band broke when I touched it. The set has been mine for five years, after all. Not that it mattered -- as long as it was going to break whenever I next tried to put it to use again. Then glancing down at the Bahrag, I looked at their white-rubber

Pokemon Tcg: Old, Old Memories

Saturday, October 6, 2007 Ah, the good old days -- spent playing Pokemon cards on the playground. For all the time I spent with it and for all its fascination, the Pokemon TCG will forever be a part of me, even if my Pokemon days are long gone. And now my younger brother has given me a fun idea. This is a preview for something larger at hand, of course. However many duties I have in the real world, I will always devote time to some sort of artistic endeavor. And when it's Bionicle, I kn

Heroes: Awesome New Season!

Tuesday, September 25, 2007 Before I get to talk about my favorite TV show, I'd like to start off by wishing everyone a happy Master-Chiefocalypse. Yeah, you know what I mean.   And I don't have an XBox 360 yet...   Last night, I didn't care if I had two papers to write or five tests the next day -- I was going to watch the season premier of Heroes. I have to say that I was very impressed by last night. I was afraid that it wouldn't be very good, that the writers wouldn't have been able to ta

Halo 2 On Legendary

Sunday, September 9, 2007 If at first you don't succeed, you're in good company. Yesterday I finally beat Halo 2 in legendary mode, earning the highest level status "The Great Journey on Legendary" in my profile. It feels great not to be haunted by failure anymore, if you know what I mean. Beating the first Halo on legendary this summer was no problem. It was fun. It was great knowing that every time I sat down, I would at least get past the next checkpoint. Halo 2 was different, however. W

Conception Of The Universe

Wednesday, August 8, 2007 What would the structure of the universe have looked like had it been left up to human imaginations? Judging off of appearances, one would not suspect that the sky was blue light reflected by air particles, that the earth was round and rotated on an axis, that day and night occurred depending on which side of the earth one was standing, that the earth orbited around the sun, that the sun was a giant fusion reaction eight light-minutes away. Some people in the past assum

Yawn

Saturday, July 14, 2007 Do you ever get the feeling that the day is too short? Do you feel like you had no morning? Do you sometimes even get mad at yourself for waking up at lunchtime because you feel that you were shortchanged a few hours of your day? That's who I am. Because it's summer, my whole schedule shifts so that I sleep only past midnight and wake up only past eleven. So this morning I forced myself to wake up at 7:15, just to experience what morning feels like again. Now I r

Off For A Week

Friday, June 22, 2007 Im on WiFi in a hotel halfway between home and New York state. I always dislike these long road trips. The hours spent in our sedan can become incredibly uncomfortable. The rest stops in Ohio are horrid. Ironically, our destination has many acres of space to run through. Anyway, to whom it may concern, Im slipping off the edge of the earth until I come back a little over a week from now, probably Sunday. See ya later.

Kickapoo

Thursday, June 14, 2007 That's right, Kickapoo. That would be the name of a state park I went to on Tuesday and Wednesday. It's summer, and my mom said we needed to go on an "adventure." So what we did was go tubing down a river. That sounded really cool to me for a while. I had this vision in which I could see all of us in a circle in this giant, yellow inner tube racing down the rushing river waters. With the wind blowing stiffly at our backs, the water would then turn white as we hit som

Freedom

Friday, June 6, 2007 ~The End~ - The Arrival of Summer - and ..:Freedom:.. Sophomore year wasn't so tough as it was long. But I took my last final today. I'm done. Summer is here. And I am free at last.

The Year Winds Down

Friday, May 18, 2007 School, tennis, sleep. For the last few weeks, those were the only three things I experienced in a day. No time for blogs or entering the two Brickmaster contests. My schedule was packed! But in three weeks, it'll all be over. Now, everything is winding down. Drivers ed was finished long ago. The tennis season finally came to a close this week. I finished a video project. The Heroes season finale airs in three short days. And with nothing calling me away from the comput

May Brickmaster Set Arrives

Friday, May 4, 2007 For some reason, my Brickmaster sets arrive at my home very early, whereas my magazines come late the following month. Would that it were the other way around. The set was Thulox. Nothing new, pretty disappointing, so don't get too excited. But on this glorious day off from school of mine, should I see Spider-Man 3?

One More Day Until...

Sunday, April 29, 2007 It's time to save the world. One more day... until the next episode of Heroes! I'm definitely hooked on the show. That last episode kicked [hiney]. Every episode is like that, in fact. And the next one is tomorrow! I can't believe Isaac's dead, and then Sylar's still out there. Then Hiro and Ando are in the future, where they meet -- future Hiro! It'll be a cool one.

Whoa, A Blog Entry

Wednesday, April 25, 2007 For the first time in a long time I get to sit in front of the computer long enough to report my doings to a blog entry. Monday was madness. In any given school day of the year, I'm normally supposed to have two free periods: one being fifth period for lunch and then the second being seventh period for doing whatever else it is that I need to do...like...eat more. But for the last three months or so I've been taking driver's ed, which I've been attending during sch

New Gadget

Friday, April 13, 2007 Anyone familiar with my older blog entries knows that I absolutely hate iPods. What does not make sense, however, is the fact that for the past year I have been using my own video iPod to listen to music. This has come to an end as of my birthday four days ago. I now have a portable multimedia device from ARCHOS. My new Archos is everything the iPod failed to be for me. Instead of needing to import and convert/sync files through the painfully slow iTunes program, all I ne

Two Things

Wednesday, April 11, 2007 -- It's April 11. My bedroom faces the busy street on which our house sits, so I always wake up to the sound of tires streaking across asphault. But this morning I woke up to another sound I know very well: tires rolling across wet asphault. The bed of my brother, who had obviously woken up to eat breakfast or do whatever he does first thing in the morning, was empty. With our bedroom door closed, I strode to our bedroom window excitedly, thinking perhaps that the tenn

My Birthday!

Monday, April 9, 2007 Hey there, BZPower! Today is a very special day. Very, very special for me. Can you guess why? Well, I guess I should tell you anyway. Here it is -- the new comedy show Thank God You're Here premiered on NBC tonight! Um, yeah, it's my birthday too, smart one. Yeah, this is the part where I give a long list of things I gawt, but... nobody cares, so... um, I don't feel like typing all that junk if no one's gonna read it. But I will use this space to wish you a very h

Happy Easter!

Sunday, April 8, 2007 Happy Easter, everyone! I obviously don't have as much time for this blog nowadays, but I have to say something on Easter! I'm happy. I have no school for the rest of the week. My birthday's tomorrow. I can drink soda again after denying myself that pleasure for all the forty days of Lent. Are you happy, too? I hope you are. Summer's on its way. I see myself sprinting down the home stretch, waiting eagerly for the months during which I don't have to wake up at 6:45
