Eagle Scout Project

I had (part 1) of my Eagle Scout Project today!

For those of you who don't know, Eagle Scout is the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America. To obtain this, not only is a record of leadership, earning 22 merit badges, and an abundance of scout spirit needed (including a history of camping), but a service project must be made and carried out by the scout seeking Eagle.

I am building one of these for a nature park.

The temperature was about 100 degrees (F) but we still got almost all of it done (just no front window, but that's OK)

We'll put the sign up next Sunday and that will be the end of it!

Stats:

6 free pizzas from Diminoes and Bricks's Pizza because this was a Boy Scout service event.

36 gatorades were drank today.

Lots of water.

80+ man hours.

Well, that's it. I'll report back more and even have pix!

It all sounds totally different to Scouts in the UK. You're still a Scout at 17? We stop at 14, and then you go on to become an Explorer Scout or Young Leader. Like me.

Hmm, I've heard of Explorer Scouts. But not much. Maybe they're only in the UK.

(You learn something new everyday!)

Here we have the Venture Program, which is an extension of Boy Scouts for boys and girls over 13 thatwant to do more camping and stuff like that. Sometimes I participate in those activities too, but mostly stick with myTroop.
