Hedorah appeared in Godzilla vs. Hedorah (Godzilla vs. The Smog Monster for older fans). He also got his butt kicked in Godzilla Final Wars. Anyway Hedorah is literally made of pollution. Slimey gunky nasty filthy disgusting pollution. He can transform into a flight mode and back to a pile of filth. He blinded Godzilla with nasty goo and turned people into skeletons by dispersing toxic gas into the air. Obviously Hedorah isn't a very likable or a cool monster. He's too disgusting to be enjoyed. Just like the horrible movie he was featured in.

Man, I really thought Hedorah was actually a sort of cool monster, since he's unique and all.

 

Plus, massive evil death cloud with eyes.

I personally disagree, as I think Hedorah is a very cool monster. I mean, he was one of Godzilla's toughest opponents in the Showa series. I mean, melting Godzilla's hand? If it hadn't been for the army, Hedorah would definitely have killed Godzilla. Plus, Hedorah is always being wanted in the next Godzilla game.

 

I also disagree with your point that he isn't a very likable monster, as, from what I have seen and heard, he has a very large fanbase.
