  1. I don't think CCBS is dead; as has been said, the Star Wars constraction line seems to be doing well enough. However I am worried about whether original constraction lines just ended. I'd like to see more original constraction lines from Lego, in fact I wouldn't mind a HF reboot (or just continuation, considering it's not been gone too long), provided the sets were up to the standard of the Bionicle and Star Wars sets. But, I guess only time will tell...
  2. Hm, looks like there's a Shadow Trap on Makuta's torso... G2 Shadow Hand perhaps?

IC: Zavarix The worm's screech cut through Maru's speech and any reassurance it gave. Zavarix would have been happy to just run of into the wastes and forget about all this, but such an act would likely kill him, and he wasn't one to give up easily. Shaking slightly, a mix of fear and fatigue, Zavarix raised a hand, signalling that he had something to say. IC: Keristary The Tower loomed before her, its angle making her question how it even stayed upright. Worrying about getting water from the Blue Queen was enough to take her mind of what had happened in the wastes; yet she still searched the landscape for movement, even if the worm couldn't get onto the plateau. She hastened her pace, focusing once more on how to negotiate with the ruler of the wastes. OOC: I'll probably be unresponsive for the next few days.

IC: Zavarix Zavarix joined the small crowd forming around Maru, waiting to hear what he had to say. Perhaps he would give an explanation regarding the worm; or perhaps he was just as confused as the rest of them. Either way, Zavarix needed something to mull over so he could take his mind of everything else. IC: Keristary It seemed Maru was giving some form of speech, but Keristary wasn't interested; she could find out what he said later. Right now she had her mind set on visiting the Tower and replenishing her water supply. It was something to do, at least, and she didn't feel like talking to others right now. And perhaps she could learn something valuable about the worm from someone in the Tower, as unlikely as that was.

    Wasteland

IC: Zavarix As he trudged back towards Canus, the horror of what had happened struck him all over again. Specks of dried blood still dotted his armour, a reminder that, by all respects, he should be dead. He tried to calm himself down, but could not help feeling a deep sense of despair as to his situation. He'd awoken in a strange desert and been told he had to gather scrap day after day just to survive; now a giant worm was roaming free. He was almost grateful when his thirst brought him back to the issue of getting water. He could trade in his iron rail, but then he would be without a weapon. Then again, weapons would most likely be useless against the worm and the inhabitants of Canus had given him no reason to fear them. IC: Keristary Keristary approached Canus and with thoughts of the worm pushed from her mind, she could think clearly enough to decide to carry straight on to the Tower. She needed water and didn't feel like sitting around in Canus while the others discussed the worm situation, despite what she could learn by sitting around. Perhaps the Queen would want to hear about the worm... "I'm going to the Tower," she said to Agonos, already heading to her hut, to collect her empty canteen, not waiting for a response.

IC: Keristary The response Agonos gave was not very reassuring, but at least she now knew that he, and presumably the other inhabitants of Canus, were just as clueless as she was. Perhaps she could profit from this in the future... Whatever that monster was, she needn't worry about it for the time being; it had gone and dehydration was once again the biggest threat to her. She just hoped the broken sword got her enough water to survive till she next ventured out into the territory of the worm.

IC: Zavarix - the Wastes Zavarix made his way back towards Canus with the others, looking back at the sandy landscape now pockmarked with holes. In the end he had decided not to try to explain what he'd seen, he'd probably just have got in the way, and had decided that he would wait till they'd returned to Canus. Still, for such a thing to exist so close to the settlement and for no warning about it to have been given, it made little sense. But with no memories prior to the previous day, nothing made sense. He shouldn't be worrying about a currently absent threat, particularly since said threat had eaten everything he'd found that day, save for his iron rail. IC: Keristary - the plateau Knowing she would get nowhere by making a fool of herself, Keristary grabbed Agonos' outstretched hand and allowed him to help her with her final ascent up the slope. The wastes were silent once more and those who were still there seemed to be making their way back, but Keristary still felt an odd sensation somewhere between fear and relief. She had made it up the cliff without running into the monster and was now on her way back to Canus with an item to trade for water, but had the creature really given up that easily? Had it had its fill? And what would happen when they returned to the wastes the next day, or the day after that? These were the questions running through the mind of a Matoran used to knowing everything. "Has anything like this ever happened before?" She asked Agonos.

IC: Keristary - the Wastes "I can manage," she replied, not liking the fact that her abilities were being question. "I just prefer gathering information than scrap, trouble is both these things seem equally difficult to come by in this dull village."

IC: Keristary - the Wastes Keristary reached out for the pole that Dessimus held and, with his aid, made her way up onto level ground. "Thanks," she muttered to Dessimus and Agonos, hoping that if she acted like everything had gone to plan then they would forget about her struggle to climb a slope. Her embarrassment was short lived, however, as a quick glance into the wastes reminded her of the new threat that had appeared, and what would happen if it didn't disappear. "So... are giant worms considered normal around here?"

IC: Keristary - the Wastes Keristary neared the top when she slipped on some loose grit and began to slide backwards. She looked up to see Dessimus offering a hand, but he was just out of reach. Trying to retain her dignity, she tried ascending the slope once more, only to slip on the exact same spot. A hint of deep red spread across her as she tried to control her annoyance.

    Wasteland

IC: Zavarix - the Wastes Zavarix neared the base of the cliff, sensing the tension in the air; some were fleeing for their lives, while others remained behind to defend them. Zavarix was trying not to think about what had happened, or what could happen. He wondered about fleeing, after what he'd seen nobody could blame him for running. However, whether from shock or forgotten past experiences, he was feeling oddly calm. At any rate he needed to tell people what was out there if they had yet to see for themselves, though that would be hard considering he couldn't speak... IC: Keristary Keristary was almost on level ground once more, had she really made it? Excited by the prospect of not only making it back alive, but with something to trade for water, she let herself get her hopes up. However, this excitement faded when she looked below at those still making their way up, and out into the wastes where the worm hid.

    Wasteland

IC: Zavarix - the Wastes No sign of the worm. Zavarix wasn't sure whether to be joyous of the fact that it no longer seemed to be chasing him, or worried about why it was no longer chasing him. Either way, if the worm wasn't following him, then it should be safe for him to return to Canus. He doubted he'd be able to run any further, he needed water. Zavarix turned back in the direction of the settlement and began to walk, hoping someone would be kind enough to lend him some water considering he'd lost everything he'd found... IC: Keristary - the Wastes Keristary sheathed her knife, as she neared the cliff, and clutched the broken sword with both hands. Several other Matoran were making their way up the cliff already and before them stood Maru, staring into the wastes as if his spear would be enough to kill the beast. She didn't need telling twice to start making her way up, but now that safety was within reach she couldn't help picturing the monster bursting out of the sand and swallowing them all. She hoped that that wouldn't happen and that it wouldn't be able to reach Canus. And, though she would never admit it, she hoped the beast would go for someone else first.

    Wasteland

IC: Zavarix - the Wastes Zavarix didn't know where the monster was now, but he couldn't return to Canus due to the risk of it following him. Of course it was possible that it would be unable to make it up the cliff, but once it knew where they were it was unlikely to give up. So he ran parallel to the cliff, selfishly hoping that the worm had gone after someone else, or better yet had already returned to wherever it came from. IC: Keristary - the Wastes Fairly confident that the beast was not between her and Canus, she made a beeline for the cliff, planning on getting back alive and with her prize. The sword she'd found should be worth enough water to keep her alive until whatever had appeared in the wastes had disappeared again, though how much water she received was entirely dependant on the Blue Queen's mood...

    Wasteland

IC: Zavarix - the Wastes Zavarix stood still, petrified. He looked down at his hand, now covered in droplets of blood, and began to shake uncontrollably. Thankfully his stomach was already empty. Somewhere in the back of his mind a voice told him he needed to move. The worm was underground once more, but it could resurface at anytime and probably already knew where he was. Forcing his legs to obey him, he began to run. IC: Keristary - the Wastes Slightly calmer now that she had stopped to think, Keristary finally examined the object in her hand. It was a sword, or part of one at least. With the sword in one hand and her knife in the other, she felt confident enough to return her armour to its original colour.

IC: Keristary - the Wastes As she ran she spotted some Matoran running away from Canus, not towards it. Was whatever had made the noise between them and the settlement? Keristary skidded to a halt, unsure where to go. She turned on the spot, unsheathing her knife.

    Wasteland

IC: Zavarix - the Wastes Zavarix grabbed Jasisu by the arm and began to run, hoping they could get out of the way of the mighty beast. They barely managed to avoid the worm and the sand thrown into the air by its impact made it impossible to see. They couldn't possibly outrun the creature and they had no idea where it would appear from next. Zavarix ran what little he knew about the creature through his mind over and over, trying to work something out. It burrowed underground and had somehow known exactly where they were. With that in mind, it probably relied on vibrations to track its prey, not sight. Zavarix stood absolutely still, motioning for Jasisu to do the same, and hoped that his racing pulse wouldn't be enough to bring the beast right to them. IC: Keristary - the Wastes Keristary had just uncovered the edge of her find when a terrifying screech filled the air, seeming to resonate through every bone in her body. Her armour flashed white with fear, then turned to match the colour of the sand, making her harder to spot. She grabbed the edge of the object she'd found and yanked it out of the ground, before turning and running back in the direction of Canus without even checking what it was.

    Wasteland

IC: Zavarix - the Wastes Again... he thought, searching the barren landscape for whatever it was that he'd seen. The first time he'd seen movement he'd come to the conclusion that it was probably nothing, but seeing something twice was enough to put him on edge. He was tempted to return to Canus, both to inquire about the local wildlife and for protection, but thirst was far more likely to kill him than something that may not even be there. Then it suddenly occurred to him that whatever was out there could have something to do with how he'd got here, how they all got here. He tapped Jasisu on the shoulder and pointed in the direction the movement had come from, trying to indicate that he was going to go that way. He would have to head back soon and the idea of being out in the desert at night was not a pleasant one, but he couldn't let go of the idea that there was something waiting to be found out there. So he began to walk in the direction of what was most likely no more than a figment of his imagination. IC: Keristary - the Wastes Her fingers collided with something hard and smooth and she looked down in shock, a burst of colour flashing across her armour. She had not been paying attention to her digging, nor had she expected to find anything, so the sensation of something other than sand was unexpected, but her shock was instantly replaced with joy. Finally... she thought, digging at the sand around whatever it was she'd found, searching for its edge.

    Wasteland

IC: Zavarix - the Wastes Seeing something reflective in the sand, he stood and went over to it. Crouching down, he began to sift through the sand, searching for whatever it was. It could've been a scrap of metal, or just some sand. As he dug deeper it seemed it was probably the latter, as his search revealed nothing. However, the chance that there was something buried here made him continue digging. His mouth was so dry he doubted he'd be able to speak even if he weren't mute. He needed something to trade. They had the rags and small bits of metal, but he doubted those would be worth enough water for one them, let alone both of them. He looked over at Jasisu, thinking perhaps he should've gone alone... IC: Keristary - the Wastes Seeing the sun's position in the sky, she dug more frantically, doing her best to ignore the unpleasant sensation of sand in her armour. So far her efforts had gone unrewarded, but this mound she'd found seemed promising. It had not been created by the wind, so surely there was something buried here. If she could just find something of value then she could return to Canus with the confidence that she may not have to go scavenging again for a day or two. She needed to find something if she didn't want to resort to begging.

    Wasteland

IC: Zavarix - the Wastes They arrived and Zavarix set down the bits of iron and Jasisu's canteen, taking his one belonging back in return. Already tired of looking at the unchanging sandy landscape, he knelt down, trying to decide where to start digging. IC: Keristary - the Wastes Keristary crested a dune, gasping for breath with an already dry mouth. Her black armour absorbed was absorbing so much heat that the Av-Matoran was tempted to turn it white. From her vantage point she could see a few other Matoran scavenging nearby, some having better luck than others. But without anything to give in return, she doubted they'd be willing to trade with her. So, Ignoring the Matoran, she instead searched for clues as to where something valuable may be hidden. Spotting a slight mound in the sand she set of, knowing that it was probably nothing.

IC: Zavarix - the Wastes Zavarix nodded, handing his rusting iron rail to Jasisu in exchange for the scraps of metal and her canteen. Being unable to write while holding their possessions, he let Jasisu lead the way this time. IC: Keristary - the Wastes Keristary angrily sifted through the endless sand, her search yielding no reward. She sat back and sighed, looking up at the sun and estimating how much long she had before she needed to head back. She didn't like scavenging. Unless you were lucky enough to spot something the wind had dug up for you, it was a guessing game. Not only that, but as she dug the sand would find its way into every crevice in her armour, gritty particles getting stuck between her fingers and refusing to come out. It was to be expected in a desert, but as long as she didn't have to dig it wasn't too bad. She would much prefer to remain in Canus, trading her vast well of information for water. Unfortunately, her well had run dry. There was no information in Canus, at least, none of value. If anything of importance came up, the locals would be the first to know and they gave out their information for free! So, she was out in the Wastes once more, clawing at the sand that kept trickling back into the hole she'd dug it out of. Eventually, she uncovered the corner of a piece of canvas. She grabbed it and pulled, but something beneath the surface was holding it back, probably a rock. Refusing to dig anymore, she pulled even harder, until the canvas ripped and she fell over backwards with only a tiny scrap of canvas in her hand. Grunting, she got up, ignoring the pain. At least nobody saw that, she though as she staggered of, deciding to continue her search elsewhere. OOC: Keristary open for interaction.
  21. Sorry for not indicating it in my previous post, but Keristary is actually my second character (the first being Zavarix) so I've been added to the list of players twice.

    Wasteland

Zavarix - the Wastes Zavarix thought about this, then nodded. Jasisu was right, they should probably make as much of the daylight as they could if they were going to survive. In that case, maybe we should see if we have better luck elsewhere? He wrote, taking another look around, hoping to spot something worthwhile lying on the surface, waiting to be found. Unfortunately, he had no such luck...
  23. Name: Keristary Race: Av-Matoran Gender: female Mask: noble Ruru Abilities/Skills: can change armour colour instinctively. Weapons/Equipment: a small knife, which is composed of a scrap of metal attached to a piece of wood wrapped in cloth. Appearance: she tends to keep her armour almost completely black, making her almost invisible at night. However, she sometimes loses control of her powers when angered or shocked, causing her to temporarily change colour. She is tall and thin, but not to the extent that she looks weak. Personality: Keristary likes to be on top of things, making an effort to gain information she can later share in exchange for materials or water; she believes that this skill comes from her career prior to her awakening (though she has no memory of this). However, the lack of useful information in Canus somewhat hinders the usefulness of this ability. Though she tries not to show it, she easily becomes envious of those who know more than her, since unveiling secrets is what she's best at, and will get unnecessarily angry when things don't go her way. Weaknesses: she is not a skilled scavenger, preferring to trade information for water. Unfortunately, she rarely knows something of value and often becomes angered and reckless because of this. The fact that she'll subconsciously change her armour colour when angry only makes matters worse.

    Wasteland

IC: Zavarix - the Wastes I can probably carry it if you'll take my rail, he wrote, gesturing afterwards to the rusting piece of metal he had discovered the previous day. Zavarix frowned as he tried to work out where the scraps they'd found, where the scraps everyone found, had come from. The multitude of materials just lying around made no sense; they could be what remains of a civilisation that once lived here, but Zavarix could not imagine this wasteland ever having supported life. He thought about Canus and its people, wondering if they knew more than they were letting on... Then again, they didn't seem to have anything to gain by keeping secrets. At any rate, these thoughts were not important right now, they should probably head back and hope that what they'd found would be enough. I'm ready to go if you are, he wrote, brushing some sand of his armour as he stood up. His legs ached from kneeling for so long, but complaining would get him nowhere, so he ignored it as best he could.

    Wasteland

IC: Zavarix - the Wastes His fingers rubbed raw from the digging, Zavarix leaned back, eyeing the scraps he'd found. A quick scan of their surroundings showed no signs of life, asides from a few other Matoran scavenging in the distance. What was he expecting to see? Whatever had moved was probably just some canvas blowing in the wind, or another Matoran, or perhaps a Rahi... Were there Rahi around here? Still, Zavarix felt uneasy, but he didn't want to say anything just yet. Maybe he would consult with one of the locals back at Canus. For the time being, he needed something more than scraps to show for his effort.
