Proof That Hero Factory Is Doctor Who

"Stringer is armed with a built-in, multi-functional sonic weapon"   You see, Hero Factory is actually Villengard, obviously, and they all travel in small, hard-to-land pods through time and space!   IT WAS SO OBVIOUS!   And in the end, the Hero Factory will be replaced by a banana grove.   I trust the sets will be better after that   Rav

Lower Case (and Irony)

recently i did the australian business week, where we needed to design a product, make a report, powerpoint, logo, brand name, advertisement, and prototype, and do a simulation of it. naturally i was the designer in my team, and i came up with the brand name, designed the logo, came up with the colours, and pretty much did everything design. i decided, for some reason, that i would use no capital letters in the designing. i opted for a neat, sans serif typeface, originally hoping to use a font i

Quad-core Smartphones!?

ARM announced the other day that they are developing a new processor - A smartphone processor that is quad-core. Each of those cores runs at 2.5GHz.   That's fast enough with one core! It's 2.5GHz dedicated to a single application, which will make it blazingly fast! Multitasking will be incredibly smooth, with a core for the task and three spares for background tasks. 2.5GHz alone is almost triple the average today (around 900 probably). Putting this in perspective, that's almost as good as an

Sherlock

Was fantastic. Loved it. Moffat wins again. Brilliant. Can't wait for the second one. Fortunately that's on tonight, and the third tomorrow. Unfortunately, because it's on a commercial channel, it goes on half an hour too long, so I can't watch it all. I'll have to watch it tomorrow then, I suppose. And the next day. Because if the first one's anything to go by, they'll be magnificent.   In other things, Angry Birds full version was released! Hoorah! I shall spend hours trying to beat it!   I

Oh Boy!

Oh boy, I got news! And I got proto! How very exciting. I've gotten news but once before.   They credited me as Rav, though, which I found rather odd (but awesome, because I prefer Rav ). Perhaps they credit based on the email signoff instead of username, I dunno.   Well, in one proto's time, I'll be POBZPC, which would be awesome.   Rav

Me Talking About Doctor Who For A Short Time

The Beast Below was awesome, especially the end. As a whole, the episode was more 'Moffat' than The Eleventh Hour, but not fully spooky and stuff, like his other episodes. The Next Time trailer was probably my favourite next time trailer ever, lol. I can't wait for next week. And then it starts in AUS, so I'm not going to steal any more from the UK after the Victory of the Daleks. Apparently it's called that because they actually win. Huh.   One other thing: Who else thinks that the "Raggedy" c

On The Road

Hello.   I'm sending this from my phone, on the way to Jenolan Caves, which is a pretty cool cave system where you can go adventure caving and on guided tours. I went for school some years ago, and it was the best excursion I've had. this probably won't be as fun because we're not adventure caving and that was probably the best part. I remember we called it Time Lord Cave, because the opening was tiny but the cave inside was massive. I digress.   After the caves, I think, we're going to the ma

Review: Telstra T-touch Tab

First, let me start with this: Whenever I visit the shops, my trip usually goes like so: What I came for --> Tech shops --> Food or home. Since I get so much hands-on with gadgets, I think I might as well do some reviewing. They'll be rather short and probably not too extensive, but, I think, they'll cover the important bits. So, off I go! ---   Specs: Underclocked 768MHz Snapdragon processor 512MB RAM 7-inch resistive touchscreen display at 800x480 Kickstand 2MP rear camera, Unknown

Aw Come On!

Now this is simply unfair. The HTC Aria just got the new Sense, so now pretty much every HTC phone ever has a decent Froyo ROM except the Legend. Meanwhile I have a slow and dying phone with 2.1 and practically no developer support. Ugh. If only I could afford a new phone >.>   Rav

Tsunami

I just posted an entry about how there's been a massive earthquake in Chile, and that there would be a tsunami.   The wave just hit New Zealand. It was 3 metres tall.   It could get smaller, it could get bigger, it could stay the same. I'm hoping for the former. A >3m tsunami in Sydney would be terrible. It probably wouldn't get to our house, even more so because it's on a hill, but still, it'd wreck the CBD.

Legend, Exam Leave, Daleks, Etc.

On Thursday night, I ordered the HTC Legend, and it shipped yesterday (Friday). So I'll get it by (hopefully before) Friday! I can't wait, the postage said 3-5 business days from ship date, which puts it Wed-Fri, but I'm not sure if the weekend would knock a day off. I hope so, because I want it by Tuesday, so I can get some apps, and try to customise it, and, hopefully, make a LED flashlight app (Because the Legend has an LED camera flash), which is something I want, but nobody seems to have ma

Team Effort + V For Vendetta

I watched V for Vendetta last night. Thrilling. Absolutely brilliant. I'd probably place it in the top ten, if not five. The entire thing was just fantastic, especially the ending. If you haven't seen it, get on that, it's worth it.   Business week continues, and I, for some reason, seem to be the ideas man in my group. I came up with the logo, name, and slogan of our company, and quite possibly the advert too. Being the most creative is a new experience for me. Hm.   As an aside, I'm working

8 Gigabytes Of Lego

As I said I would (right on schedule, too, it's exactly later), here's the pictures of my LEGO flash drive.   Front View Side View Back View Plugged In   I think it's quite good. The circuitry's only come out twice in the half a day I've had it!   But now all the holes are superglued shut. Shouldn't get any more problems. Bit delicate though, I'll need to keep it on something that doesn't get things crushed easily. A lanyard, perhaps? Or my keyring?   Both of those means it'll need a ring

Bzpower For The Droid? (tell Me If You're Interested)

I'm going to learn coding for Android. A good first step is a simple, easy, app. So I'm going to make one.   I need ideas, though. I'm currently thinking of making a mobile version of BZPower. But are there really that many BZPers with Android?   It'd be free, and ad-free. Well, BZP has ads, so I might need to include theirs, but we'll see. It'd basically be a mobile-friendly BZPower, with the news, forums, blogs, and all that. I'd assume permission would be necessary, so if I get enough requ

8gb Of Lego + A Milestone

My dad bought me an 8GB Home Brand USB stick (a USB from Woolworths, the food shop). Since it was encased in a loose plastic box, I decided to rip it apart and make a new case. I used a grey 2x6 brick and a grey 2x6 plate, superglue, and a dremel. I'll get some pics up soon, it's a bit messy.   Also, I've settled on which phone to start saving up for. A Motorola Milestone (Droid in USA). It looks like the best Android phone right now. Since there's probably going to be another one like it (the

Star Coins

I got NSMB Wii for Christmas, and after I got back from NZ on the 13th, I've been playing it, a lot. I'm double shiny star complete at the moment, and I've got levels 9-1 through 5, working on 6. World 6's star coins are hard for me to get, and World 5's were probably easiest.   I want my quintuple shiny star completion!   Also, I have 99 lives!

Birthday + Earthquake

Well, today, the 28th, is my birthday. I'm 15, yay!   But I'm also sick. And on top of that, there was a massive (8.8 on the Richter scale, which, by the way, has been long superseded by the MMS) earthquake in Chile, where a lot of my extended family live.   Also Sydney's on tsunami alert, and it's probably going to hit at quarter to 9 (about 3 hours from post time, because apparantly it's 1 hour off). The wave ought to be small, but it might get bigger on it's way over (it was 2.34m in Chile

Don't Leave Me Hanging!

In the title, I was, of course, making a pun about high-5s and the current state of politics in Australia. Hung Parliament, which at this point looks like it'll mean a Labor minority government or a House of Reps re-vote. But enough about that. Things have happened recently!   I got an injection (triple antigen) yesterday. It was fine, I had an anaesthetic patch to prevent pain, but all day since it's really been hurting. I had to come home from school because it hurt too much. Stupid tetanus.

Musings Of A Spring Eve

As I lie here, having just watched the first of two shows (the second of which I attended live) by the immensely wonderful Stephen Fry on the ABC, at around 10pm, I remember my weekend, with caves and animals galore, The magnificent, wonderful Jenolan Caves yesterday and today the Taronga Western Plains Zoo, both so easily entire weekends themselves, Jenolan especially and perhaps more. That was fantastic, both locations. But what I wanted to express today was not my joy at going to these place

Bionicle's End And A Dalek

So, BIONICLE sets are ending. And here's my obligatory opinion: I don't like that the sets are going. I am a collector (sorta), so it's not good that I won't be able to anymore. It is awesome that the story's going to continue. I'm looking forward to the story without the restrictions sets brought.I think that, now that the sets are gone, BZPower will be the majority of the fanbase, which means more story influence! That's a good thing.I fully support Tilius in his effort for a Great Spirit set.

New Teeth. That's Weird.

I just got my braces off.   It hurt more than a tooth being pulled out.   And my gums stick out and are uncomfortable.   I can't remember the last time I had brace-less teeth.

The Lodger

Plot of the Lodger:   -Doctor gets stuck on Earth for a bit -Goes to live with normal people -Hilarity ensues     We know NEXT TO NOTHING about the Lodger. NEXT TO NOTHING.   IT MAKES ME SO MAD!   All I know is the above is true (hopefully even the third one) and he has a humourous conversation with Amy over his ear thingy at some point.   I'm paraphrasing the end bit here: "Of course it's in date, it's in a stasis fridge!"
