I'll Now Take The Time To Gripe

At annoying inactivity.   Yeah, a combination of several things are seriously cramping me. I think I can sum it up like this: Little Time, other Sites, Strange Feel.   I'm still on an hour and a half of time per day, and I'm active on a few other forums.   The biggest thing however, is the strange feel. It's twofold, honestly. The first is the skin: it looks like [Mentioning social networking sites is not allowed, unless it's Twitter. -Takuma Nuva][This is what happens when I lurk for a month.

It is official

Anyways, I'm backish.   But yes, it's official as of... Perhaps two weeks ago? I've been accepted as a seminarian for my diocese! I also got to go to my first ordination mass which was very interesting: it has to be the best mass I've been to in a while.   On the not so happy news, my dad had a heart attack just before that, so things have been pretty hectic for me. He's recovering, but things are still, as said, hectic.   So... Aside from crazy hackers, what's new with BZPower?

The Application

I have to get a good photo of myself, answer one question, provide two references...   I'M FINALLY (almost) DONE! ! !   ...   Right when I'm rejoicing, of course, I recall the psychological testing and evaluation and the physical that's next.

Six days late

But I finally made my usual seasonal avatar change. St. Nicholas ftw!   Bishop of Digne will have to wait.

Jesus Christ Is Risen Today

That song is officially one of the most epic hymns in existence (Aside from Adoro te Devote!), I'm currently playing it on my computer.   Have a blessed Easter, everyone.

Thousand Foot Krutch

After several months without hearing it, the epicness of The Art of Breaking knocked me flat.   Must have more...   *Adds to ipod*

The Unsung Reviewers

I think we've all met them, usually when we've just began writing, or a little after. You have that short story that you think is good, but everyone else seems to ignore: 30+ views, no reply, that sort of thing. In reality, you'r story isn't very good, and people don't really want to read and review it as a result. Of course, you might apply for a review from the local critics club, which speaking from experience can be a BIG enthusiasm booster. But even better is when a person out of the blue l

Fare Thee Well

Yeah, so I'm heading down to NJ for a week for a mission trip. Spawn, LL, and KNI will be in charge of SftS... Be warned, they have full power to smite. >=P

I'm Not Writing

I'm transcribing from my intellect.   Seriously, it's annoying how I write an entire story in my mind, and it takes forever to write down, not to mention how it never sounds as good...   Off topic, American Dream by Casting Crowns is simply epic.

Tale Of Six Toa

Alright, it's been a while since I worked with RPG Maker 2003, and I am, in all honesty, missing the days I worked on it. My last game never made it to BZP, as it began after the forums went down, and died before they came back.   Now, I'm making a new game. It's in the planning stages, but there are some things about it:   -It will be bionicle. -Battles will be made with RPG Maker's native battles. -Kanohi masks will be used, both in regular game, and in battle. -It will have Toa.   Some featur

Why I Hate Consoling People

Because I automatically assume they have the same mindset as myself: namely that in grieving, they want people to shut up and not murmur the usual cliche condolences that the fifty+ people before them already said.   Yeah, that's why my way of going to a wake is to pay my respects, say hello, and hide in some obscure corner.

Euh

So, not only did my only up to date copy of the story I'm working on (106 pages last I checked) get corrupted to the point where I was unable to recover anything, but it completely vanished during an attempted recovery.   Fortunately, I have a draft I sent to my brother on the 16th, so I didn't lose too much. Some of the scenes will be a little hard to replicate. Overall, an annoying loss, and definitely a headache filled evening.   Rewriting. Euh. That about sums up how I feel. I think I'll sac

Shall I cancel Strike From the Shadows?

Anyone know that RPG? Yeah, I'm currently chalking it up as a double failure; in theme and in practice. The theme itself, with the T/DH war, gave a very limited number of NPCs, which is not a very good idea, since usually NPCs die rather fast. Logistically, about one fifth of the toa forces would be PC toa. This leads to the next problem; lack of cohesive military structure. It's stated pretty clear that the Protectorate have a military setup for the toa, yet I never made the specifics, nor do m

Random thoughts

What is it that makes a person more shy online than in real life, and more shy online after meeting someone in real life?   Sorry, completely random off topic idea. It was TOTALLY not inspired by ANYONE.   Well, SftS is still standing, somewhat. I can tell you for sure that in a week or two, it's going to change a lot. Most specifically, I'll be taking a bit of a step back from it.

Fasting

So, I'm sure most of you have heard of Kony 2012, and the day of silence this Friday. This got me thinking about that, so I decided to post a blog entry on the universal topic of fasting.   This is not essentially a religious subject, for it has many non religious applications. An atheist or agnostic can fast just as can a Jew or Muslim, and a baptist as much as a Catholic. Fasting can be used as protest, penance, respect for the deeds of others, or aiding in establishing greater self control, a

Ugh

That sums up my view on The Mockingjay, as well as the moral standings of most of the characters. Revenge, suicide, et cetera, all annoyed me.   Yeah, the ending made me feel like throwing up. Seriously. I mean, I may like tragic endings, but in all honesty, this one... Felt wrong, incredibly wrong.   So yeah, I like the first book a lot, the second book was good, and the third was partially tolerable. Overall though, the ending has a habit of tainting the rest of the story: I doubt I'll reread

¡viva Cristo Rey!

Just saw For Greater Glory today; just it time it seems, as it's practically out of CT already.   Overall, it was an excellent movie, although I hear that it was somewhat inaccurate when it came to Gorostieta and Fr. Vega.   It was most certainly tragic, although it would have been more so if they had actually mentioned the immediate effects that the end of the war had. It was also quite violent and filled with what might be termed 'disturbing images'; namely people being hanged, shot, stabbed,

Blue

So, we finally got around to cat hunting. we went down to the local humane society and browsed their cats. We found a really friendly black and brown tabby. He's 3-4 years old, and definitely a large cat (15 pounds). For some reason, he was named blue. He was really cute, awesome and friendly.   ...And he covered my sweater in cat hair.   Hopefully, we'll have him by Saturday/Sunday/Monday.

A happy feast of St. Nicholas

I can't believe I didn't learn of the story of him punching Arius until yesterday. I will never, ever, ever, be able to think of St. Nick in the same way again...

Peace Is Flowing Like A River

That song officially takes place as one of my least favorite. Bleh, what can I say? Occasionally my choir has/is given a poor music selection. The sad part is that we almost sang another song instead, but my choir director had forgotten the sheet music for it.
