The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses

Just saw the concert.   Amazing. The Twilight Princess movement was my favorite of the main symphony, but the best encore was, without a doubt, the recently added Majora's Mask suite.   This Zelda fan is quite pleased.

The Hobbit Soundtrack

Oh, Howard Shore, your music is wonderful. My favorite tracks, in no particular order, are Blunt the Knives Misty Mountains The Adventure Begins An Ancient Enemy Radagast the Brown Erebor The Edge of the Wild I'm looking forward to the next couple movies and the delightful music they will bring.   Also, The Wizard Battle set is totally getting added to my collection when it comes out.

The Harmonic Oscillator

My Classical Mechanics professor quoted someone in class the other day: "The maturation of a physics student involves solving the harmonic oscillator over and over again throughout his/her career." (or something to that effect)   So, what is the harmonic oscillator? Otherwise known as the simple harmonic oscillator, it is the physical situation in which a particle is subject to a force whose strength is proportional to the displacement from equilibrium of said particle, known as Hooke's Law, or

The dispute will finally be settled

With the rebirth of BIONICLE, a great debate has arisen, and I am now able to put all of our qualms to rest. In my recent entry about making mountains into molehills, the comments brought up a serious issue: the color of the element of electricity. Specifically, I am a proponent of its color being yellow because I don't buy into the popularity of the color blue, and that Pokémon represents the element with the color yellow. I had many (read: a couple) people disagree with me on that sentiment, s

The "moo" Obsesser's © Birthday

Yesterday, February 22nd, was my birthday. Unfortunately, it had to fall on one of the busiest days of my schedule, with Science Olympiad, Pit Band, and Jazz Band all dominating in one foul swoop.   I had a decent time, though, and my friends got me some nice gifts. I got cookies and a card today from some of my friends in band, and another friend got me a CD. Oh, and I got cupcakes. Can't go wrong with cupcakes.   And waiting at home for me after all this was a Chipotle burrito with my na

Tekulo's birthday entry

I was going to make this a topic when it happened, but unfortunately the forums were offline, so I'll make an entry for it instead. My younger brother, Tekulo, turned 21 this past Thursday, Valentine's Day, so go ahead and wish him a belated happy birthday!

Take That, Quantum

Finished 4/5 problems on my quantum final today AND almost half of the fifth one. I'd say I thoroughly owned that test to the best of my ability. 8D   Also, kudos to BZP's staff for keeping their cool and being able to bring the forums back. You guys are awesome.

Summer!

Blarga, I need to make a comic soon. It's been eons, I swear it has. I need a good idea. I really want one done by the end of the weekend. Perhaps something about finals...   Yeah, after my History and English finals yesterday, school is now officially over! WOOT!!! I can live again! At least until I have my SAT course to take...next week. ><;;   Yeah, summer's gonna be interesting...going to visit my cousins, helping my Science Olympiad team, marching band camp...ah, those are th

Summer: Week 1

Already I'm nearly through my first week of summer research. That's kinda weird.   What I've gained from this experience thus far: aligning a laser beam so that it hits a fiber optic cord that's ~1-2 microns in diameter is tedious, painful, and annoying. However, magneto-optical traps and ultracold plasmas are awesome. I am learning a lot about optics and atomic physics despite it only being week one, and I'm sure this lab will be fun.   This weekend I hope to work on my Whirling Time Warper re

Summer Draws To A Close...

The summer's almost over, and I can't wait.   I know, summer vacation is almost over, so why would I want it to end? Well, for me it's not much of a vacation (since I've been working 40+ hours a week), and I'm really eager to go back to school. Also, autumn is my favorite season of the year, and I'm not too sad about having to say goodbye to the heat we've had.

Spirit of Justice

Finally, we got an Ace Attorney game with fun Apollo Justice cases! What was once thought impossible has been achieved!   Seriously, though, Spirit of Justice ruled. It definitely made up for Dual Destinies' lack of awesome. Also, the puns were taken up to eleven. No complaints here.   Although Case 4 was VERY out of place. Basically, the only thing worthwhile there was Blackquill's appearance. I didn't really like how they portrayed Athena in that one.

Specter of Torment

Seriously, this game is awesome. I can't wait for it to come out on Wii U/3DS so I can play it with a for reals controller rather than a keyboard.   Also I submit my thesis on Monday. That's cool.

Special Relativity

A particle moving through space at the speed of light (i.e. a "massless" particle) does not experience time, and particles that are at rest travel through time at the speed of light.   So the next time you feel lazy loafing on your couch or computer chair, just remember that you are traveling at light speed, no matter how fast or slowly you move.   This entry brought to you by SCIENCE!

Sorting

So, I decided to take the Pottermore Sorting quiz with all questions available on some third party quiz site, because while I love the Thunderbird, the house's traits do not really fit me (I can be adventurous, but let's face it: I'm a schooler). So, I took the full Pottermore quiz, and my results were somewhat predictable.     Indeed, Horned Serpent is my Ilvermorny house by a decent margin, with my second place house being Pukwudgie, then Wampus, and Thunderbird being my least compatible hous

Sonic Generations

So, lately I've been playing Sonic Generations as a fun way to pass the time. It's a fantastically good game that I recommend to any Sonic the Hedgehog fan. It brings back the play styles of the 2D platformer and that started by Sonic Adventure. (Though the final boss is really lame.)   I also like a lot of their remixed songs. (Green Hill Zone and Chemical Plant Zone sound really cool!)   In A Link to the Past news, I've rescued the maiden in the Dark World version of the Lost Woods and am now

Something Something Something, Dark Side...

I think I just have to say that LEGO Star Wars II for XBox 360 is one of the most amazing games ever made.   Randomness aside, today marks the end of this year's marching band camp (which started last Saturday) for the resident Moo-Obsessed Toa of Electricity. So why am I bringing up marching band? Well, this year my little brother had marching band camp for four weeks, consisting of two weeks of mini band camp, one week of full band camp, and then another week of mini band camp. Full band c

So, I'm playing A Link to the Past...

...and I'm not enjoying it as much as I hoped to...   *avoids all the random objects being thrown at him in disagreement*   Let me explain.   I'm currently rescuing the maidens in the Dark World. I'm making the assumption that you're supposed to rescue them in numerical order, but I think they can be saved in (almost) any order. I've rescued two of them, with the third lying in the Dark World equivalent of the Lost Woods (the Skeleton Forest, I think?). Anyway, it took me forever to figure out h

So, Bzp's Back...!

Welcome back, everyone!   As you may or may not have noticed, I haven't yet put life back into my comics topic (and by that, I mean re-posting said topic with new comics). I am, however, currently working on a new comic for the rebirth of Akano's Comics, so stay tuned for that.   Also, super-happy-fun news, I have recently acquired Night Lord's Castle from the classic Fright Knights theme of LEGO System, and I have to say, it is quite the awesome set. Basil's pad is something to envy, I must s

Snow Days

So, today was the second day this week where classes have been cancelled for snow/winter weather. Today the cancellation occurred due to power outages and falling frozen tree branches.   So, I'm now at home doing work since there's actually power here. So that's been fun.   Outside looks especially pretty, though.
