A rather ferocious storm came up last night: rain, snow, 100km/h winds, the works. Half of town lost power, so school was cancelled. I was fortunate enough to have power all day, because I live close enough to the hospital to share its grid. Needless to say, it was a nice day. To be perfectly honest, I like storms, regardless of whether or not I lose power. At least, I like them when I'm inside and not out in them. Saw it. Loved it. I know the word is overused, but the word epic is the best descriptor of this film. Everything about it is larger than life. It's a movie about giant robots fighting giant aliens, and it's unashamed of that. Instead of trying to cram in unnecessary subplots or romantic tension, it simply lets the audience enjoy what we really want to see: Giant robots fighting giant aliens. If you guessed my car keys, you're right. Yeah, so last night's Canucks game was so disappointing I guess I accidentally locked my keys in my car. I've got my keys back now, but I'm $40 poorer. Hopefully it's a lesson learned and won't do that again. And if the Canucks win tomorrow, maybe that'll make up for it.

I'm lost for words when confronted with the tragedy that occurred in Connecticut this morning. My thoughts and prayers go out to the grieving families and friends of the dead; may they be given peace that passes understanding.
Yay! Unfortunately, with all the stress of the world ending, I had no time to think about new years' resolutions. Did anyone else, or do you just think there's no point? Personally, I like new years' resolutions, just because of the whole idea that people are actually trying to better themselves. Granted, the stereotype is that we fail... but it's the thought that counts, right? With that said, my resolution is... I dunno. Somebody give me one, or tell me what yours is so I can copy it!
I have an idea! I'll write a serial, and post it on my blog. People can comment on it and request for things to happen next, and then they will! It'll be like Bioniclestory meets BZPStuck. As was related in my previous entry, I am now an employee of an adorable little coffee shop. I have worked four shifts so far, and learned a little more with each shift. My first shift, as you know, I started out washing dishes. My second shift saw me working the till and learning how to pull a shot of espresso. My third and fourth shifts were interesting.
