Do both kinds of Frillish have perfect IVs? If so, would you consider trading me one of each gender?

Nope, if it has a default name in another language and it evolves, its name goes to the default in the language of the game it's in. My Japanese Tepig just evolved to be "Pignite".

It worked this way 4th gen too, if I recall correctly.

How does this trick work exactly?

It's been talked about in the Pokemon topic recently, but the main thing is, you set your DNS settings to a certain setting, and then log onto the GTS. It'll show you getting a Pokemon like from a trade, but without putting anything up. Then you just repeat that and get tons of Pokemon; depending on the 'Distribution', it's either one, or many different Pokemon.

Disky put up a good tutorial on how to set your DNS settings on a DSi in the last few pages of the Pokemon topic.

/EDIT: Oh. One more thing. Whatever you do, don't deposit Pokemon. They'll be gone for good if you do. Seeking, in gen 5 games, will kick you to the reconnecting stage, but if in gen 4, simply log off as usual when getting off the GTS, and just go back in.

Nope. Not more so than cloning was in Gen 3 and 4. =P
