Problem is, I don't know how besides hooking up the mic. Help?

Start > All Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound recorder

Yes, this program was on your computer all along.

Mainly where to put it (don't have Soundcloud account/membership/whatever, doubt my mom would let me use it).
