Volleyball

Before you say, "But Onuki's not athletic!" I must remind you that I reserve the right to prevent this blog from making any sense whatsoever. :)

With that aside, I just realized something -- with blogs, you're free to bump them all you want. Interestingly enough, in volleyball you can only bump the ball thrice before getting it over to the other side of the court, or else you lose the point.

As a matter of fact, the only time that I've played serious volleyball is in Physical Education "class" in school. Up until this year, I inevitably stank at doing anything volleyball-related. But somehow, I magically unlocked my mediocre volleyball abilities this past year. I could actually serve the ball over the net. I could actually bump the ball over with a 50% success rate. This was already too much to ask for, but hey, they gave me an A+ in the class too. :P

But for all that matters:

i too have discovered my inner volleyball athlete this past year in gym

now i'm not athletic, but i loved to play the game ^_^

i got loads better at serving, and was an asset to my team

now here's a good story:

-so, one day in gym (we're playing on 2 courts in one half of the b-ball court (divider wall))

-right, now that we got the details down-

-the ball comes to land to my right, i thought it came from the other court

-so i hit it back, it was a beautiful arc, went right between the ceiling and the 'folded up' b-ball net

-as i stood marveling the flight of the ball with my team...

-it hit a girl in the side of the face (she was fine)

-that's the point where we all started laughing, not because i got the girl in the face from accross the gym with a volleyball, but because i'm the man... or maybe it was because i got her in the face

anyways, it was quite the sight

the girl still holds a grudge against me to this day, oh well, it was worth it ^_^ :P

also, the ball happened to come from my court... so... yeah...

um...

*bump*

Heh.

You know, I've found that gym class is the best place to get hit in the head by a ball. Whether it be a basketball, soccer ball, lacrosse ball, or tennis ball, someone always has to get hit at least once before the period (or block, if you're as unlucky as I am) ends.

SIG QUOTE!!!!

I'm okay at volleyball, I guess. I knows the basics, and 'm good at them, but I've never really played the actual games using the rules. My friends and I just play for fun. ^_^

Graaagh... I have been sig'd.

And now you know how I feel every Tuesday.

As for sports, well from what I can remember, I was quite the one to 'take it for the team' when I was in shcool. IE I was the one who stopped the slap shots, the Head-ins and all other sorts of hard objects moving fast with various parts of my person, more often than not, my head.

I think, anyways... It's all a sort of blur...
