I just realized my name is dedicated to KH, and yet I haven't had a KH entry yet!

So, here's the story of Kingdom Hearts.

The Destiny Islands are a beautiful paradise where children's laughter abounds. Day after day, Sora, Riku and Kairi talk and dream of new places, new worlds beyond their islands. They ponder the usual questions that adolescents do - about the world outside, about their own existence. Little do they know a great destiny awaits them.

 

One stormy night, a terrible darkness invades the Destiny Islands...

 

Sora awakens in another world, in a place called Traverse Town. His hopes of seeing new worlds are realised, but his friends Riku and Kairi are nowhere in sight.

 

Meanwhile, Court Wizard Donald and Captain Goofy arrive from Disney Castle. Under their king's orders, they are looking for the "key" and its owner, and they have a message from their king:

 

"Now, there's somebody with a 'key'

 

- the key to our survival...

 

We need that key."

 

That "somebody" turns out to be Sora.

 

To find Kairi and Riku, and discover what is happening to their worlds, Sora joins Donald and Goofy and embarks on an epic journey.

That's the story of KH 1.

KINGDOM HEARTS CHAIN OF MEMORIES for the Game Boy Advance bridges the gap between KINGDOM HEARTS and KINGDOM HEARTS II, continuing Sora’s tale where the original left off. One night, after traversing endless grassy fields, Sora comes to a crossroads. His mind swims as he recalls his lost friends. They were supposed to return home at journey’s end…but this was not to be. A man emerges from the shadows and speaks to Sora: “Ahead lies what you seek…but to claim it you must lose something dear.” When the man (a member of the Organisation) vanishes, only a single path remains. At the end of that path lies a castle (Castle Oblivion), and inside that castle stretches a vast nothingness. Sora’s memories lay fragmented before him, swirling and spiraling upwards to a great adventure. What will Sora gain, and what will he lose?

That's the prolugue to KH: Chain of memories. It's the only KH game on a Game Boy Advance.

It has been a year since the events of KINGDOM HEARTS. Sora and friends are joined by a vibrant new cast of characters, including the king himself. Together, they will face countless dangers in worlds both familiar and brand-new. It seems the Heartless still exist. A new villain also awaits – but is it an old foe behind the mask, or a new menace? This mystery and others will be solved as the story unfolds in a grand adventure.

This is about KH2. It's actually pretty vague.

So, yeah, that's the story of Kingdom Hearts.
