Whie driving through my neighborhood at night, it seems like every single car has their brights on.

Why?

Do I really need to feel like I'm in a J. J. Abrams movie every time I want to be out at night?

I'm pretty sure there's laws in some places that you need to turn your brights off around other cars.

 

In fact you don't even need them on in a line of cars, because the collective headlights are enough to see clearly.
