I Am Disappoint

Nintendo's E3 presentation was everything I feared it would be, and nothing I'd hoped it would be.

Let me explain.

Nintendo (predictably) spilled some more info on the upcoming Wii U by showing the final versions of the controller, introducing the Miiverse (the Wii U's answer to Xbox Live), and elaborating on the "asymmetrical gameplay" that's apparently going to be all the rage. They unveiled a list of games that would be available for the console, which included the Wii Sports-esque NintendoLand, Pikmin 3, ZombiU, and Assasin's Creed 3 (the latter two were actually unveiled at Ubisoft's conference, so they don't really count).

And that's all great stuff! Don't get me wrong, I'm jappy as a jalepeno to see the great games coming in the future, and I'm excited to see how the Gamepad is going to be used.

But... where's the Zelda?

Zelda?

Hold me.

Miiverse (the Wii U's answer to Xbox Live)

No, the answer to Xbox live is Nintendo Network.

This is an alternative social network, from what I can tell. =P

But... where's the Zelda?

It's in development, likely; they just finished working on Skyward Sword late last year. =P

Yeah, Xbox, if nobody noticed, released the 'Avatar' concept a few years after Wii released, where they had the Mii concept.

I can see why Nintendo held off for so long from releasing the ability to socialize with people online, considering Xbox's immature audience (Go into a Call of Duty lobby some time and just listen. Same with Halo. Enough ten-year-olds on there?). They would be catering to this audience if they released online play for their games where you could actually chat with other people - I'd prefer it if they sticked to family-styled gameplay, as they always have.

Still, Zelda will no doubt come. Skyward Sword was amazing, and it took them that long to release another Zelda game on the Wii after Twilight Princess, but hey, it will take a few years. If you want the game to have excellent detail and graphics and be the most wonderful game you've ever played as opposed to Call of Duty's 'game every year' operation, you'll have to be patient. :P

Some very talented pranksters took yesterday as an opportunity to post an amazing fake trailer for an HD remake of Majora's Mask. It's so unfair...

Still, I'm in no rush for a new Zelda game to come out, since I'm not even done with Twilight Princess, and when I am I can get Skyward Sword. I'm fairly new to Zelda. :P
