Courting Kansans

Jean Valjean

:kaukau: They're both raised in Kansas and lived on farms just outside of town, but they were also born in a faraway place that defies the mundane modern world. It seems that America's heartland bred incorruptible pure children, because these are two of the nicest people in all of cinema, and both quintessential characters in Americana.

:kaukau: I thought you were from Texas, Alex.

You know, this was funnier than when I first imagined it. In Tin Man, you were almost led to expect that DG would have a romance with the titular character. And Clark Kent is knwon as the "Man of Steel with a Heart of Gold". So yeah, there's an additional pun there. Not to mention Zooey looks pretty similar to Erica Durance's Lois Lane in this picture.

Nope, Kansan for me. Born in the heartland, kinda sorta raised in the heartland. I even have some Cherokee in me, though they weren't that active in Kansas. I have gone on a trip to Texas, though. I think you may be confusing me with Toast of Awesomeness, he's a Texan.

And yet somehow I speak Queens English and almost have a British accent.

I didn't know you are a Kansan, Alex. What part? I've been in the KC area for about two years.

Anyway, I am going to get hit for this, but who's the girl? I recognize Clark Kent, but seriously who is the girl?

:kaukau: Ah. I think the reason why I got you confused is that you're both active RPers in CoT.

The girl is DG (Dorothy Gale) from Tin Man, which was a Wizard of Oz miniseries. I suppose the original Dorothy Gale would have made the joke clearer, but I thought that Zooey Deschanel looked a lot like Lois Lane.
