Only 12 declaring freshman in physics? Do you know if that's about the average where you are?

I thought about joining the bandwagon a million times, I decided that I didn't want to be one of those bloggers who just assumed that people were interested in his life, and I feel guilty when my blog strays from its base in essays and literary analysis.

Now as it happens that I do care about your life, I did read your entry since this is the blog that you decided to make for yourself. I hope the parties and midnight gatherings on the weekends will prove to be a positive experience for you, and if it is, please do blog about it. The guys in my dorms are all gamers, and I'm always tempted to write about their nightly ventures.

It also sounds pretty cool that you know that Physics is going to be your major. You can do a lot with it. If only I had the emotional attachment to the subject to give the the conviction to follow it, because if it was what I really wanted I could go for it. Meanwhile, it's cool that you get 1:1 time with your professors. I remember getting a lot of that with my high school chemistry/physics teacher, and it's a great memory. It certainly helped me learn, and I could hold discussions on a level that taught me a lot more than the classroom lectures and helped me grasp concepts that initially weren't explained right to me, especially when it came to labwork and grasping the bigger picture.

*shivers* labs... *ugh*

And also, congratulations on seeing The Incredibles. It's funny, because at first I thought "I wish I saw a movie on one of my first days," and then I realized I did. It was the similarly named The Expendables. But anyway, it's super-cool that you guys watched a Pixar film. The perfect Pixar movie would have been Toy Story 3, though. Suggest that to someone.

It's always cool when you can get 1:1 time with your professors. Glad college is going well so far!

Only twelve? We only graduated four physics majors my senior year, and there were about four more students or so in the lower grades.

You don't know what a small department is.

I'm currently within a department which currently (as of the end of June) has about 15 undergraduates spread across 5 majors. I'd say I do know what a small department is. Granted physics is probably its own department which means it's even smaller, but still.

Maybe my school is an anomaly for physics, but 22-26 seems to be about the average per year for us (which I guess means it's not -that- much bigger than Eeko's class). Just depends on where you are, I guess.

It sounds like everything is going amazing! It's awesome when the school issues a decent computer. You'll get some good use out of a foldable design like that, even if you already have your own computer from what I recall.
