Day 33

So, we got the entire cooling system put back together for the laser!

Which apparently took someone a whole semester to do before, so we're making great time. :P

We believe it to be out of actual coolant, but so far there's no leakage, which is really good.

We might actually have a working laser by the end of the semester! :D

Cool a laser. Will you post some pictures when it is done?

And I've been meaning to ask what kind of physics are you taking? And which part is your favorite?

Personally I think quantum mechanics seems really interesting but I need to take multiple prerequisites before I'm allowed to even take a class about that at my school. :P

Sure, I'll post pictures.

Right now, I'm taking 101. Just kinematics, since my school wouldn't accept the two semesters of Community College Physics I took. <_<

I really like Optics, hence the laser, but quantum stuff is a lot of fun.

Yes, quantum stuff is awesome.

Also, what kind of laser? Is it a large dye/Nd:YAG laser? The lasers I work with are small, since they're diode lasers.

I believe it's a solid state Nd:YAG, but since it hasn't actually run in a few years, I'm not sure. :P

I do know it is fairly high powered, especially with the regen we've got as well.

The way my professor put it, the laser by itself will burn you really bad. The laser with the regen will blast a hole through you.
