Oh No, It's May!

I have good reason to panic.

You see, this is the month where a really big performance is going to happen. Our entire music course has been roped in to perform at the Graduation Concert - not a formal concert, but a background music crew as everyone eats cheap tidbits catered free to the participants and everyone takes photos of their classmates in graduation garb, yadda and dadda.

They forget what goes on behind the scenes.

Our cohort is the only cohort creating gigs for this performance. One band alone cannot play for at least 3 hours straight. We only have less than three weeks to performance day, and everybody is, surprisingly, sitting on a hammock and waiting for things to happen.

Or, a lot who were going to help me ended up lazing around in the studio room while the other room was cranking something from Chris Daughtry. (Which reminds me. Has anyone seen Crankenstein of late?)

I am tied into two groups. One group is a confirmed duet. I'd be on the keyboard, my good friend on the mic singing. We're not ashamed to put ourselves on the 'solo-gungho' firing line. Song of choice: 'Listen to your Heart' by D.H.T, ballad version.

No sweat. Just got to practise, and transpose the keyboard settings.

It's the second group that's got me jumpy.

I'm part of a (currently) three-girl-show doing a daring 'Pirates of the Carribean' Medley. It's perfect for the concert - the show premieres two days after the concert. It is also very dangerous to perform, as it is prone to many, many mistakes.

So when no one turned up to practise for that piece, I was left alone to tinkle 'Davy Jones' and pound 'Davy Jones' on the keyboard - and attempt to string pieces from the first movie and second movie together.

So when the lecturer came in to find me alone, he was not pleased, but there was little I could do.

But there's hope! I have been scheming of a sure-fire way to save this band: We're grabbing seniors to assist where possible, because experience ultimately benefits everyone, no?

That, and I'm going to be a merciless Vahki and ensure that practice sessions are not wasted.

Other than that, some freeware attack occurred right after I posted the BotW post in this blog. It killed my laptop for a full day straight, and I don't know how stable this lappie is now.
