Family family family.

Dad's sister and her husband are coming in about an hour.

Mom's mom and niece are coming in two days.

Cousins are graduating, great-cousins are getting married, and I have no doubt that one of my very, very old relatives from Florida is going to call in the next week, another is going to call and freak out in SPanish that I'm almost 18 (as I am the oldest grandchild) and another very, very old relative is going to be partying down in Puerto Rico while speaking in such fast and lazy Spanish that not even his wife can understand him.

...

Why is my family so... HUGE. Arg. It makes my brain hurt to rememberesk them all by name.

And I can't understand half of them when they talk.

ARG. D:

If having about 80 people from one side of your family all coming to see you - just cause you've grown in the last 15 years since they've seen you - counts as family... then yeah.

It hurts my head soooo bad to listen to them talk. ><

Reminds me of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding".

I know the feeling. Probably not as bad as you, but they do tend to make a big deal out of everything, don't they?

It's exactly like My Big Fat Greek Wedding, in every single solitary aspect. Except we're not Greek.

Yeah. The Spanish tend to be a very emotional people, so when they're happy, they're happy.

I love it when relatives who haven't seen you since you were born finally see you and go, "My, you've grown!" Like I'm going to remain 9 pounds.

Uhm... I'm debating weather or not it is a good thing that most of my family either hates me or is dead...

Ehh, it's probably a good thing. From my mother's side, I would need to speak quite a bit of Spanish. And I don't. And from my father's side I would need to learn to speak to dead people. Well, that would be a bit easier than learning Spanish. :P Whoa... you're old!

...

Just kidding.

Nikira, my grandma is one of thirteen children. Then, she had twelve.

And my grandma has great-great-great grandchildren.

Sadly, all of my great-grandparents are dead. (My oldest abuela died about two years ago.) But my grandmother was also one of thirteen. My grandfather was one of eight. They had five kids. Their five kids all together had ten kids (including myself), and their siblings (my great-aunts and uncles) have had so many kids, it's insane.

My other grandmother is old enough t be my great-grandmother, but that's just cause of a generation mix-up. (Like my grandma had my mom when she was 50.) :P

My humongo family lives twelve time zones and a 13-hour plane flight away! That means calls only in the early morning or late night, and hardly any visits! I think I have a cousin going to college in M... some state that begins with M. Massachussets? Michigan? Montana? Bleh, something like that... otherwise, it's only my immediate family that's within any reasonable visiting/calling often distance.
