Well, my mom has announced that she is once again pregnant. She did this first on Saturday night, when she went out for dinner with some friends (and again on Father's Day to my little sibling, who weren't at the dinner). She did this by making up custom fortunes and stuffing them into fortune cookies, which were served after the meal. The fortunes read:

Roses are red

Violets are blue

Will you pray for our baby

until he or she is due?

The baby's due date followed. Now obviously, that little poem-thingy just doesn't work. My main problem is with the last line, which has too many syllables. "He or she" should be shortened to "it". Also, praying for the baby until its due date makes no sense, as the baby could be born after the due date, thus cutting off the prayers at a possibly crucial stage. So, I proposed a number of other mini-poems, which are listed below: (Needless to say, they were all rejected)

Roses are red

Yellow is corn

Will you pray for our baby

Until it is born?

Roses are red

My (Mom's) pants high are worn

Will you pray for our baby

Until it is born?

And my personal favorite:

Star Trek is awesome

Kirk fought the Gorn

Please pray for our baby

Until it is born!

FYI, this baby will bring my total sibling count to five.

All for now,

Arpy
