Life's Little Childhood Joys

Ever build a pillow fort? Aw man, it's so fun... just a simple stacking of pillows and you have a little place, a hideaway... yeah, good times...

Well, anyway, I recently built one for my sister since she's at the age where she's old enough to appreciate something like that but too young to build it herself. It's her little pretend "house" which is really cute, it's actually pretty nice inside, there are three windows, it has an air conditioning vent all to itself so it's always really cool inside (which is great in the heat of summer) and there's a little "backyard" which is really just the corner of the living room with a plant.

It's built behind the sofa as opposed to on it so it's a lot more spacious, and I even hung a blanket over the entryway to serve as a sort of "door."

Just brings back so many memories of my younger days when there was nothing you couldn't build out of a bunch of pillows and some ingenuity. If it falls down, you rebuild it in seconds, if it falls on you, it won't hurt, and when you're inside the soft walls muffle the sounds outside and contain the sounds inside.

*sigh* Ah, you're just no longer a kid so quickly... it all goes away so fast...

----

Well, the dang entry area collapses about five times a day, I have to constantly adjust the blanket for the door, and today my dad managed to bring down the entire thing looking for some screws.

But in the end watching my sister hide her toys inside, and play, it's all worth it.

Sort of.

That is awesome. I remember those days for me, good times, man, good times.

When I first saw this blog, I thought it was going to be even more random than Onuki's, and it is.

That's awesome. I've built a pillow fort, but it's completely different from yours, since yours is a pillow house. In fact, I want to build one. Now.
