I wonder if the awesomeness of an MOC is inversely proportional to the number of posts it gets, as with a good MOC, there is often nothing to say, whereas bad MOCs can be improved, and therefore get more posts simply because of people offering methods of improvement, or pointed jibes.

Yeah, but that's the thing. Only the well-profiled mocers get tons of posts in ALL of their topics. I've only gotten a lot of posts in some of mine because of controversy and disputes.

But you are on track with your thinkin'.
