Yesterday, we decided to have at least one last family for my birthday (since I'm now eighteen and things like that could easily not happen again). It wasn't a really party-ish party, kinda relaxed, which was good. But anyway, I got all of the 2008 sets so far except Icarax, plus a few other things:

• Dragon Wars DVD
• 1408 DVD
• 3:10 to Yuma DVD
• A buttload of money
• Some really awesome Jack Skellington shirts
• Tarja Turunen's My Winter Storm CD

I tried going out earlier today to see if I could get a hold of Icarax with some of that birthday money, but alas, neither TRU I went to had him. I mean, he IS a TRU exclusive, right?

I gotta say, although they're by far some of the simplest Matoran sets to date, those Av-Matoran and Kra-Matoran are pretty cool. Especially the Kra-Matoran. I love their little imp wings, especially on Kirop, my favorite. He's simple, yet affective, as is his mask, like the original Hau. And the completely red-orange heads looks really cool. And Toa Ignika -- the mask is pure win. It looks exactly like it did when we first saw it in the Creeps from the Deep video way back in January 2007, except silver. It seems like the single most detailed mask to date, too, with all the little ridges and stuff. Unfortunately I got a wonky one, but it's too awesome for me to care all that much.

And the shadow leeches are so freaking cute. They're absolutely tiny, though. About half the size -- maybe less -- of the squiddies last year. And those Midak Skyblasters are dead accurate.

And the new CD is absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend it.

So anyway, it was productive, to say the least.
