The Irony

I hate spelling. This being my last year of taking the wretched subject as a class, I'm happy enough. One particular weird word (don't get me started on the others; if I ever need to use those I'd need a dictionary to know what they mean, so knowing how to spell them is pointless) I've had this year is "melancholy." When it showed up again (come on; I have to review misspelled words for several weeks; why do they need to bring it back every five lessens?), I had just stopped reviewing it not too long ago. I thought I could do it. But apparently it's less weird than it was before...

Of course, having a "Y" at the end makes most sense but at this level the only words that ever make sense are the ones that you already know how to spell. So they throw in words where one part makes sense, just to throw the person who has caught on to their other tactics off. Ugh.

I always learned how to spell a word best when I wrote it down over and over again in stories or essay... basically, in context rather than on a sheet of paper. Yeah, spelling = not a fun subject. :P
