To Those Held At A Higher Standard

This entry is devoted to the Staff here, maybe a little reminder for them as well.

You guys, you're over us all on this site. You enforce the law, you keep things running smoothly and correctly, but I find that I feel as if you guys don't understand that alot of BZP members really look up to you. They DO see you as a role model whether you like it or not. You're like the policeguy in the town with the little boy looking up to you, wanting to BE like you. For that reason, don't you think that some of you should hold yourselves at higher standards? Maybe being more careful with the words you say, how you say them, what pictures you have on your maj even.

You guys aren't normal members once your staff, you're Important people that who knows who is looking up to you, wanting to be the "Next you" and that absolutely enjoys YOU. Cause YOU'RE SO COOL. For that reason, don't you think you should interact and be friendly to the people around you? Those people you look up to you?

You guys set the path that some people walk on, how is their life going to be if they follow that path?

YES. Thank you BR for listening to us! While I do not tend to go wandering off on someone else's maj, I know others do and several people have told me about things they wished they'd never seen. I just did have one question though, if the galleries are to be filtered, how does that effect avatars & such?

I really do appreciate it. ^_^

Wow, I've actually seen Bionicle Rex post. That's never happened before to me.

Good point, everyone, but I don't blame Omi at all.

The trouble that often comes about when people are seen as role models is there are two polar opposite effects that can happen. Those who look up to that person tend to lift the person up to an infallible status and leave themselves open for hurt when the truth that the role model isn't perfect finally dawns on them. This happens way too often with celebrities seen as role models. On the other hand, there are those who are going to look for and expose every hidden flaw in the role model they can find, possibly to hurt the individual who looks up to the person or out of jealousy/spite. This too happens to celebrities.

Don't get me wrong; there's nothing bad with having someone to look up to, but don't be surprised when that person messes up. Rather just don't look up to that person anymore if s/he isn't willing to admit a mistake has happened and instead covers that up. :psychotwitch:

You should've seen me after Beliwa.

And Andrew, I'm pretty sure it was a 16 year old boy. The guy had hand cuffs and rope. Yeah, like that isn't a dead giveaway...

Gosh, Omi went all grr... Oh well. Though then BR came and you know the rest(I've never seen him post before). Not trying to be offensive to anyone, just saying. Omi is doing a great job at what he's doing here at BZP.

Also, you guys scare me with your knowledge on things concerning Miley Cyrus....

Of course, there's always a flaw, as usual. Just because they were a good role model when they were picked doesn't mean they always will be. It's obvious who wants to be staff out there, and they'll do almost anything to get it. After that, they already have the job, so what's the need to act the same as they did before?

Now, this doesn't apply to all of the staff. I'm only saying that so I don't have to listen to a pile of them defending themselves, similar to Tufi's entry. But there are the handful that have dropped the role model act and stuff like that.
