Lyrics:

Audi famam illius.

I have heard of his rumor.

Solus in hostes ruit

He alone rushed into his enemies

et patriam servavit.

and saved his homeland.

Audi famam illius.

I have heard of his rumor.

Cucurrit quaeque tetigit destruens.

He ran across the lands and everything he touched was destroyed.

Audi famam illius.

I have heard of his rumor.

Audi famam illius.

I have heard of his rumor.

Spes omnibus,mihi quoque.

He gave everyone hope, as he gave me.

Terror omnibus,mihi quoque.

He gave everyone fear, as he gave me.

Ille

He is now

iuxta me.

next to me.

Ille iuxta me.

He is now next to me.

Socii sunt mihi.

My allies are with me.

qui olim viri fortes

My allies, who were once heroes

rivalesque erant.

and old enemies, are here.

Saeve certando pugnandoque

As they fiercely competed and battled

sprendor crescit.

their splendor grew.

Yup. For Smash Bros. This song was awesome. In my Opinion, this is the coolest Video Game Soundtrack. Ever.

'Course... that may be because I'm studying Latin. Yeah. That means I can actually sing along with this song...

Oh, This also means I beat the Subspace Emissary Sunday. Yeah Awesome ending. Brawl is such an awesome game.

Well, that was interesting. Didn't know Brawl's theme song was in Latin...

Some of the translations aren't quite accurate... fama does mean rumor, but in the sense of anything that other people hear about someone, so 'fame' is a far better translation here. Socii sunt mihi qui olim viri fortes ought to be mecum instead of mihi, and the last two words mean "strong men," not heroes. And servavit is more in the sense of protecting than saving.

And the last five words mean "fiercely, their splendor grew by contesting and fighting." Gerunds. >>

But that's just taking issue with translations (into either language) as always. :P

I would assume it is worded such for the music, in a similar way that English songs (Especially those in Old English) some times have wording that doesn't quite make sense... but it's enough to figure it out...

Still, You are right. However, this is the translation the game itself gives in the end game. So this is why I have it here =P

Thanks for your expertise though =D
