Upcoming Wamalug Meeting!

ChocolateFrogs

22 days until graduation!

Who: Any local, Washington DC Lego fans

What: WAMALUG: The Washington DC Metropolitan Area Lego User’s Group

Where: Dolley Madison Library

When: Sunday, May 11 (sadly, Mother’s Day)

Why: Because we all like to get together to build and chat about Lego!

More info here.

I know it's on Mother's Day, but my mom said she'd let me go anyway. We'll do something with her later at night anyway. I'll be there, in my light blue BZPower T-shirt. I won't be there for the whole thing, but I'll be there for some time in the middle.

Be sure to bring pieces or a set to build, and your creativity and openness to Lego discussion with a bunch of AFOLs! (Note on the AFOL-ness. Pretty much, if you can drive yourself there, you're welcome. I think at least in high school. If you're mature and don't fool with other's MOCs you're welcome to come and hang!)

But are you mature?

And do you live in the WAMA area?

I joined before I could drive because I was 16/17 years old, and they didn't have a problem with it. Well, I did have my permit and soon got my license.

I think we've been through this before. The final verdict was that I'm too young.

Maybe sometime this Fall.

Is there a way I could get some of my MOCs displayed at the BrickFair?

To display MOCs at BrickFair, PM Kopaka's Ice Engineering. (Or attend and display them yourself.) KIE is in charge of the Bionicle section.

Thanks for the info.

From looking at the site I gather that you can register to display your stuff and you get to go there on days when the public can't be there. How much does this cost?

Thanks. :)

Well, info should be on the site as far as price. If you do register and attend all three days, then you can bring your MOCs yourself and place them on the various theme tables.

Also, how old are you? This is an AFOL event, which means you have to be 18. Now, I went to Brickfest 06 and I was 16, but the guy planning it said I could. There might have been an extra form my mom had to sign, though.

If you think you can go for the whole convention, PM me and I'll give you some more details on who to contact, if needed.
