The Day After Tomorrow... with plants.

You're not supposed to find out what happened -- that's why at the beginning and the end they said something along the lines of just another part of nature that we'll never come to understand. It's just heavily implied that the plants are the cause. I always saw it as Shyamalan's method of telling people to be kinder to the environment.

I disliked it because they figured it out about half-way through the movie. I kept thinking there was going to be a twist, but no...it was the plants.

 

A friend of mine thought up a theory that the plants were killing people because the people were stressed? Everytime people started fighting/stressing, they'd die. I think he was overthinking. He said the mood ring had something to do with it too.

 

Plus the whole "be kind to the plants/we're destroying the earth" thing was lame, in my opinion.

 

Plus the acting was -horrible-.
