The Village is proud to present Short Story Contest: Twisted Logic (lol, Coldplay). The object is to create a Short Story that has a twist ending.

Minimum word count: 500
Maximum word count: 6,000

Rules:
1. The reader must be lead to think to think one thing during the story, and then, at the end, find out that that aspect(s) of the story was completely different than they thought. The aspect(s) that is "twisted" may be a major plot point or a minor one, just so long as there is a twist at the end.
2. While comedic elements are encouraged, remember that this is not a Comedy Contest, so don't make your story a downright Comedy.
3. Only one chapter is allowed, this is not an Epics Contest either.
4. After you have submitted your entry here, you may only edit your post to edit grammar or spelling mistakes, and nothing else. If otherwise is suspected you may be DQ'd.
5. The story must be new and never posted before on BZP.
6. The story must be your own work, no plagiarism.
7. The story must not be above a PG-13 rating.
8. The story must be written in prose, but some poetry is allowed.
9. And finally, it must be Bionicle-related.

Would I be considered totally weird, insane, and out of place if I tried to enter with my miserable writing? :unsure:

I might try anyway, I have a story that I've been working on that would certainly fit the category. :shrugs:

Officially not able to enter. I've got my story mostly written, but my mind is totally fried now. I'll still try to finish the story, and I'll hopefully have it up in a day or two. I might be able to rush and finish it on time, but it wouldn't be any good so I'm not gonna attempt it.

Sorry, maybe I'll be able to enter your next contest. =/

Well, unfortunately, it looks as though I may not be able to enter after all. I'm basically less than halfway done with the story, and almost to 3,000 words. :blush: I'm also just feeling like my writing is a bit flat in places and could use a good amount of revisions after I complete the story.

In any case though, I will for sure be quite active in the voting process (if that's what it turns out to be :P ).

And I do have to thank you, SZ, I now have the motivation to finish a short story and actually post it. :D

Well, this is shaping up to be a great contest! Sorry to everyone who couldn't make it, but it's about time for this contest to wrap up. :P

 

Voting will take place as soon as I can get the polls up, and there may be a surprise at the end.

 

As of now there are no prizes...just bragging rights. :evilgrin:
