Looks like the exclamation marks in the entry titles are back.

Anyway, this weekend there's a two-day fair of sorts at the quay. There are performances by Flemish artists (mostly mainstream stuff), but today I'll mostly be going for the Norwegian Socks, a band that covers alternative music (Pixies, Ramones, Faithless...). They're from this town, and Herman, the vocalist, is also the owner and bartender of my favourite pub. As you can imagine, that's quite a fan club.

Yesterday I went to see the fireworks, which are fired from a river barge, quite a sight to behold, though yesterday's display was a bit disappointing in its composition and ending. It was accompanied by movie scores (Ennio Morricone, Star Wars) and trance/techno. Tonight's fireworks will probably be a lot more grand.

Afterwards I went to see Sandrine's set. She was one of the finalists of the Belgian Idol contest, though she didn't win. Which is a good thing, because the winners usually fail at getting a career going. Usually she works with a live band and backing vocals, but yesterday she was all by her lonesome and had to lip-sync. Another disappointment, but hey, at least she was there.

Great DJ set afterwards, though. I'm not one to buy R&B and techno albums, but I do enjoy dancing to it, and this DJ had some amazing mixing talent. Excellent execution. (That'd be a great band name, too.)

Also, there's a heavenly creature I've been spotting a lot recently. She has a boyfriend, and I don't know her age yet (hopefully at least 19, I'm not exactly a teen anymore myself), but dang, she cute.
